1 night at Lake Olancha RV Park and Campground

it was our first time staying here and it was a lovely location. it was spacious, accommodated our RV, had water and electric hook ups, a lovely pond that we walked around in the early morning and watching the sunset come up was beautiful. we spotted tons of rabbits and birds everywhere — it looked like a movie location. the only small issue (not in a big way for us) was that if you plan to use the showers / restroom here, it only fits 1 individual at a time. so be prepared to wait if you plan to use. nacho was a great host and very communicative throughout our stay.

loved that they had both water and electric hook ups. the views were great and we walked around the lake in the early hours and it was beautiful with the sun rising and all the birds chirping. the entire location looks like a movie scene. although this wasn’t a huge deal for us, as others have pointed out, the shower area is just for one person. so if there are a lot of campers there wanting to use it, be aware of the wait times. nacho was great, friendly and very communicative. we will def plan to stay here whenever passing by. thank you, nacho!

The site we camped was spectacular! Right along the rushing Tule River, sleep was lulled by Nature’s white noise. The land was very quiet, clean, and extremely well maintained. You could feel the love the residents have for this land. I highly recommend camping here if you are looking to explore the Many parks of southern CA.

Had a great stay here! Except for the first night we had the place to ourselves. The site is close to many things and it’s nice a quiet there. A few things you need to know before booking: 1) We stayed in the sailboat that sleeps 2 (kind of). It was honestly pretty tight for my girlfriend and I as the very back narrows quite a bit. I would say it’s better for 1 person! Note: I’m only 5’8 155lbs and my girlfriend is smaller. 2) A lot of bugs! We expect that while we’re camping so we were fine but if you hate mosquitoes and spiders/webs maybe this place isn’t for you. 3) Pretty bare bones and not much shade coverage so be prepared! We planned on staying on the river most of the days anyway so that wasn’t an issue for us. All that being said- It’s a really fun place to stay and I would recommend it!

Nacho reached out with a message right away offering a greeting and additional directions that were very helpful and made our arrival seamless. Our RV site (#10) was lakeside and offered a lovely view. We found the campground and lake very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay (regrettably only one night) very much and will definitely come back for a longer visit if our travels bring us back this way in the future.

Weekend Trip to Five Fours Camp in Three Rivers

We had such a good time at Brewsters land so many animals quail running around and wild turkey. We went on a hot May weekend and loved the available shade and outdoor shower after hiking sequoia National Park. Also the restroom was very clean. Brewster was very helpful checking on us making sure we had everything we needed and giving us advise on setting up the tent and the drive up hwy 198. We are planning to do it again soon we recommend staying here for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at Sonja's campsite. Everything was lovingly prepared. We even got a little starter pack from her :) Sonja was a great host! We had electricity, water, hot showers and even our own BBQ grill. Our highlight was the pair of ducks that kept walking through the garden and had their own little house. We would recommend this place again and again :)

What an amazing property and cool host! It is totally worth the price. Amazing amenities, thoughtful design, cowboy character, and safely located. Had a great conversation with the host and as a solo-female I felt totally safe camping there. Brewster has done an awesome job building this perfect stopping ground during a trip to sequoia!

2 nights at Blue Moon Orchard Retreat

We had such a delightful stay at Marks place! The amenities and farm were beautiful and our daughter had a great time saying good morning to the sheep, getting to know the cats, and even picking a few oranges! The tent was comfortable and had everything we needed, including a power cube to charge our phones. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful - it was magical staying under the olive trees!

I had such a wonderful stay at Wendy’s camp! From the moment I arrived, Wendy was incredibly welcoming and accommodating — truly one of the kindest hosts I’ve met. Her space is not only beautiful and peaceful, but also filled with charm thanks to the friendly goats, curious ducks, and sweet cats that made the experience even more magical. Everything was thoughtfully arranged and made for a comfortable, relaxing getaway. I can’t recommend this place enough and would absolutely stay again. Weekend Trip to Sierra Foothills Ranch -722 acres

We loved our time here! The turtle flat site had plenty of flat space for our 10 person tent and was close enough to the river to hear it at night and see it by day. The beach was easily accessible and a great spot for our 3.5 yr old to play. The fully equipped kitchen made meal prep pleasant and easy. And the communal cooking and campfire was a good way to meet and talk to other guests. It was easy to walk to all the amenities and parking was relatively close to our site as well. We would come back and recommend to friends.

Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills on route to Sequoia National Park makes our location very convenient. This is agricultural land which mainly grow citrus, nuts and other tree crops. Citrus groves have windmachines for frost protection and if the nighttime temperature dips below 36 degrees, they start up automatically. This can be noisy depending on how severe the frost threat is to the crops. We are 5 minutes from great restaurants and 45 minutes from Sequioa National Park.

Manzanita Farms

Our camp area is right next to our home. We live on 2 acres which is apart of our families 500 acre ranch and home to a summer camp and retreats. There are nice hiking trails we can direct you to as long as the National Forest isn't closed. We have a few picnic tables, outdoor electrical, a grill, fresh spring water, water hook up and beautiful scenery all around. We do own a few cats. Our space isn’t huge and we are working on making it more private but you are welcome to come stay here...we are happy to share. We live in a remote area and its beautiful and quiet. There is a local town 6 miles down the road that has several places to eat and one small place to get some grocery. This property that we live on has been lived on now by 4 generations. My grandpa bought this land with his brother in 1940s. His brother eventually sold his portion leaving my grandpa with a little over 500 acres... In 1934 he and my grandma started a winter program with only a few kids which eventually became a summer program for children with about 90 children every two weeks. This year would have been our 86th summer of children's camp run by our Third generation of Jamesons ( due to COVID, we were forced to cancel for the first time this year). For our summer children camp program, there are many fun things on the property to do including a pool, lake, horse program and so much more. We also run retreats off and on year round on the main property and offer a wide variety of things for our clients. Due to COVID, and the strange year had, we thought that this would help us gain a little of our money lost as well as meet some really cool travelers along the way. We call this God's country because it is a unique and beautiful peace of land, even in the driest of moments. And...there is beautiful manzanita trees all over property. We personally live 1/2 mile from the main part of the property Jameson Ranch, where the summer camp is held. I love to garden and are in the process of expanding our portion of the property to putting in fruit orchards and berry bushes. Our whole property also borders the Sequoia National Forest and there are some fun walking trails around there. Its very peaceful here and a reconnect with nature so to speak if that is what you are looking for. We hope to share this little bit of our heaven with you. This is a essentially a private campsite with a million dollar view during the day, and wonderful stargazing at night! We welcome dogs and don't charge additional fees for you to bring your dog(s) to camp. The park allows dogs into the park BUT NOT ON ANY TRAILS! (Only the national “forests” allow dogs on trails, not national parks.) PLEASE, let us know you are bringing dog(s), when you request to book. We currently have 2 dogs - our boy Chance is a 6yo Husky Doberman mix; and we rescued and are fostering a (approx 3yo) Great Dane, Winston! Unfortunately, we can NOT dog sit your dog(s) while you are in the park having 2 large male dogs in our house. Also you can not leave the dog alone in the campsite. We are in Three Rivers - the southern Ash Mountain gateway to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Our town has some wonderfully unique restaurants, creative shops and even a delicious brewery with seating next to the River! Our hillside property has great Mountain View’s and the driveway turns directly off of Sierra drive, four miles past the town center (3R post office) and just 2 miles from the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks entrance. There’s even a convenience store a quarter mile away! It's conveniently located and easy to find! You can (seasonally) hear the tranqual sounds, or all out roar of the flowing Kaweah river from across the street. Sorry, there is NO river access from this campsite. You can go to Slick Rock Recreation area, Lake Kaweah or into the parks to swim, boat, fish and more. Lake Kaweah is about 8 miles away. You drive around it after you top the hill entering Three Rivers. My wife Elizabeth and I bought our log home in 2015 and we have been dreaming and adding here ever since! Our dog Chance chases all the fun wildlife off of our property. In addition to deer, we have seen fox, bob cats, an Ocelot, too many coyotes, wild turkeys and bear crossing an animal highway along our upper hillside property line. Hawks, hummingbirds, quail, blue birds, woodpeckers and yellow bellied finches are regularly seen here as well. We have had turkey families coming through frequently recently! Owls have been heard; but not seen. We love our country home and mountain views, and look forward to sharing them with you!

Our ranch is a nature preserve and an education demonstration site, teaching sustainable and regenerative land use practices. River Ridge Institute, our non-profit, hosts a variety of events for the public. Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Thank you. Enjoy: The Kitchen has a 3-burner cooktop, large fridge, microwave, full dishes and utensils and pots and pans with a big washing area in the back. Propane barbecue grill.. There's a River Barn to use as a remote space and Turtle Cove for swimming. Saturday morning Farmer's Market in downtown at 9 AM - Noon. Ancestral land of the Foothill Yokuts tribe. Homesteaded in 1859, owned by the Negus family from 1909-2000. Barbara and I bought it to save it from subdivision and it's now protected by a Conservation Easement and acts as a community center for the arts, music, poetry, gatherings and outdoor education. Underworld Farms

Underworld Farms is a small goat ranch in the Kern River Valley. Surrounded by forestry land, on the Kern River, and on top of what used to be the old town of Whiskey Flat (Later re-named Kernville). There is no end to the beauty, history and adventure all around the property. Life took us to the Kern River Valley after moving out of Los Angeles. We enjoy living in the Southern Sierras immersed in all its natural beauty. The small but magnificent town of Kernville is approximately two and a half miles north of us. Our livestock includes horses, dairy goats, sheep, and rabbits: Most of which are raised and bred as our son's 4H or FFA projects. You may be wondering why our farm is called "Underworld Farms". In a nutshell, since our ranch is on the footprint of the historic town of Whiskey Flat, we just happen to be south of the old Whiskey Flat "Boot Hill" Cemetery. Our "driveway" is the road that led from the old town of Kernville to the cemetery. We hope that you consider parking your RV, van conversion, or trailer on one of our customized spots on the property. Or drive your vehicle and pitch a tent on one of our tent friendly sports. Or enjoy a stay in one of our small cabins. Regardless of what you stay in, you will definitely have a memorable time. The campground is VERY barebones and rural. Critters, bugs, and sometimes fellow Hipcampers can be sparce or prevalent pretty randomly. Because Underworld Farms is a working ranch, you will probably hear livestock noises like horses neighing, sheep and goats calling, and our protector dogs barking from time to time. We encourage you to walk over to the horses and goats and meet them. They especially like when you bring them carrots or apple pieces. The ranch has a double outhouse with a hand washing station sandwiched in between, it is rustic and bare bones. We check it to see if it has paper products, soap, water, and plenty of room in the trash bins. During the hotter months, the "daddy longleg" spiders enjoy infiltrating the outhouses and seem to spin new webs overnight. But they and their webs are harmless and easy to brush off. We ask for your assistance if there is something missing, or the trash needs taking out, or if the spiders have taken over again by getting ahold of us through the Hipcamp App and letting us know. With all that being said, there is an ambient beauty here that is unbelievable and memorable. This beauty and draw is so powerful that it causes the many people who come visit to make arrangements to live in our little valley. There is much to do in and around our valley that you couldn't do it all in a lifetime. We hope that you come and stay at the ranch while enjoying our valley.
