There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork Cosumnes river. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the our house (literally 200' away!). Our property became a pivotal point of fighting the fire in our community known as the “Ant Hill Army”.

This cabin is a cute as it it’s cozy! Shout out to Jeff for helping us get the wood burning stove going. It kept the cabin toasty all night. Looking for a chill spot to get away from it all and connect with nature (with creature comforts), this is the place for you!

We enjoyed our time at this little cabin so much. We originally planned to camp elsewhere but the place ended up being flooded, so last minute we were able to book this place and head here within a few hours. The host was planning to close the cabin down for this time but allowed our booking anyway and was very accommodating. He even came from out of town a few hours away to make sure we had everything we needed. Any questions we had he answered right away and even came in the middle of the night to change out the propane tank for us. The atmosphere was wonderful and our dogs were very welcomed. We will definitely be back!

I loved this property!! It was beautiful and had plenty of space!! The cabin was very clean and cozy!! Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have a get together with friends or even have a private romantic getaway. Jeff was very kind and went out of his way to further educate me on local fire practices. Even through my gross negligence Jeff was very patient and kind to me. He took care of me and prevented me from having a serious problem all before I even called him back. DON’T BE LIKE ME!! Please double check after booking to see if you can burn in Placer County!!

Our group of 3 adults and 5 kids had a wonderful time! The cabin was clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of space for tents. The swimming holes were gorgeous, even better than the pictures. There was a good mix of shallow water appropriate for our babies, and deeper water for swimming. It was also fun to watch the chickens! We ended up leaving a night early due to a wildfire in the area, but it was a great trip nonetheless. We are already talking about trying to come back in the future.

We had an amazing stay at this secluded cabin nestled right on a beautiful, peaceful creek. The setting is absolutely serene — perfect for a quiet escape into nature, and especially great for families with kids. Ours spent hours playing by the water, exploring the woods, and just being kids without screens or schedules. The cabin itself strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and cozy comfort. It’s a great “glamping” experience — you get all the perks of being out in nature without sacrificing a good night’s sleep, indoor restroom and shower. Thoughtfully stocked and very clean, it made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a place to unplug, unwind, and make some lasting family memories, this is it. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a wonderful stay at Jeff's cabin. Jeff was communicative and helpful. The cabin had all the basic necessities and worked well for my teenage daughter and myself. There was plenty of space to explore on the property, and the forest and creek areas were beautiful. If you travel during the summer months, be prepared for lots of mosquitoes. If you visit on a permissible burn day, I highly recommend using the fire pit for a campfire. It was a great way to end our trip. I suggest you bring your own extra toilet paper, towels, dish soap, and hand soap. Some of these items were provided, but it was nice to have extra since there are not any stores nearby. We look forward to visiting in the future.

We enjoyed our stay on Noleen and Jobe’s beautiful land! The cabin next to the chicken coop was comfortable. (Be sure to purchase some fresh eggs!) The flush toilets and well water felt like luxuries for camping in a remote spot. The highlight was swimming and hanging out at the river all afternoon!

Oh man where do I start. I love this place it’s the first time my teen kids, boyfriend, and I went camping together. We spent 1 night passing through, and it was one of the best nights I had in along time. The cabin was fully equipped with pull out bed, kitchen with utensils, pots, pans plates, cups, fridge even seasonings. The bathroom has working amenities with hot water. This was great for my city teenagers. Tv had WiFi but we were having such a great time spending time with each other we didn’t care. It says that it fit 8 people it was 4 of us and not so comfortable for 4 grown people maybe for smaller kids but we adults slept outside under the stars and loved it. The host was really accommodating responded to every question timely and really friend.. he made us feel like home away from home.. if your looking for that out of the city get away with your other half or with family I highly recommend this cabin. 1 night at Lazy Bear Cabin

Lazy Bear Cabin was the perfect cozy getaway for our little family! The location was not far off I-80 (but plenty far enough that you're nowhere near the noise), so it was easy to get to. We didn't use it as such, but it'd be the perfect base camp for Tahoe adventures or getting to the local ski resorts. In off-grid cabins like this, they don't always have running water, so that was a huge plus to have a sink, shower, and flush toilet. We really enjoyed spending the morning with coffee at the countertop bar that overlooks a forest of pine trees. Don't forget to bring your own linens including blankets and towels as this place didn't have any. The pullout sofa was comfortable enough but some may prefer to bring their own air mattress or sleeping pads. The road in was paved almost the entire way and easy for our truck camper to get to, but was dirt the last 1/10th of a mile. You probably want at least AWD in the winter months so you don't get stuck. Overall, we loved our stay here and would absolutely go again!

We stayed at cabin 2 (all the camp sites were booked but by the time we arrived, some camp sites were free but had left the tent at home.) Camp sites are beautiful and more private. But we did love the "patio" side with the fire pit and table. Loved the stream on the property. Definitely go to the Cosumnes river gorge close by. Our dog loved running around off leash. Hosts were really gracious and helpful.

Where to go

South Shore

The South Shore is home to lively South Lake Tahoe, full of restaurants, shops, lodging options, and casinos across the state line. Options include the opportunity to stay in a tent, RV, or cabin, many of which come complete with picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms, hot showers, and dump stations. Just outside of town, historic Camp Richardson offers tent and RV sites and cabins, along with sports rentals from bikes, kayaks, and paddleboards to snowshoes and cross-country skis. Near the Tallac Historic Site, find the Fallen Leaf Campground with campsites and yurts in the woods just north of Fallen Leaf Lake.

West Shore

The West Shore is home to some of the most scenic Lake Tahoe campgrounds and parks, including Emerald Bay State Park. Camp at Eagle Point Campground, on a promontory overlooking the bay, or spend the night at a boat-in campground right on the shore. D.L. Bliss State Park offers several campgrounds, including one near Lester Beach. Additional public options include the Meeks Bay Campground and the campground at Ed Z’berg Sugar Pine Point State Park. To escape the crowds, head into Desolation Wilderness in Eldorado National Forest.

North Shore

The North Shore stretches from Tahoe City to Incline Village and includes several charming towns in between, with shops, restaurants, and beaches. Just south of Tahoe City, William Kent Campground offers yurts, cabins, and tent sites, while Kaspian Campgrounds offers tent-only campsites. Camp right by the lake at the Tahoe State Recreation Area, or head inland from Lake Tahoe to find camping options along the Truckee River toward Truckee and high up on Mount Rose.

East Shore

The east shore is Tahoe’s least developed area, home to the popular Sand Harbor beach and East Shore trail on the northern end. Halfway down the shore, find camping options near Spooner Lake in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, including backcountry cabins and three developed hike-in campgrounds. Further south, Zephyr Cove Resort offers cabins, tent and RV sites, and scenic lake cruises. Near Stateline, camp with your motorhome or pitch a tent within walking distance of the lake and amenities at Nevada Beach Campground.
