We have a horse, chickens, goats and pet sheep. There are lots of fruit trees, over 100 oak trees, a secret cave, and an old barn. At night you’ll hear crickets while you enjoy the fresh air. There is a large camping area for you and you’re welcome to visit the farm animals. There is also a kennel available if you bring your dog. The camping spot is flat. You’ll drive up a small hill and then arrive

Lots of hiking with wine and beer tasting nearby. We are close to the Midstate Fair, and about 15 minutes from Vina Robles.

Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a
1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window.
With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored
this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two.
Nice little kitchen with copper counters and
everything you need for cooking and dining.
A Berkey filter for clean water,
hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets.
Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to)
eat indoors.
There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink
(no hot water), gas grill,
propane burner (bring your own small canister)
and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too.
The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day.
We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well as a hot water kitchen sink that you can
share with other campers.
You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks
and horses.
We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage
as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide)
and a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid.
We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears
in the country.
Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets
and do a
tasting.
We also have
a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away.
Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available
but can't guarantee any.
Our location
is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into
SLO.

they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you

Barbara and Dan bought these 37 acres in 2005. It had no improvements. The only thing it had going for it was a 250-year-old oak tree, and its location in the heart of wine country. We would come up and camp under the tree, and plant. In 2007, we drilled a well. In 2008, Dan proposed under the tree, and we brought in power. We have continued to make improvements since. We built a little house, then we built a big house, we added farm animals, kids, fruit trees, a jam line, a pond, and more keep coming! So come up and enjoy the farm like we did in the good old days! See you at the Farm!

William was an amazing host. We had one of the best times ever on his property! Definitely chilly at night, you seem to be in a little pocket of cooler air. But everything was perfect: warm shower, gas fireplace, beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended!

Barbara was responsive to inquiries before booking. The tent space was nicely laid out and would make a perfect group outing if reserving all the spaces as well as having a cottage and a small cabin for those who prefer glamping. I did have the place to myself. Walking the grounds was also lovely.
One thing to note is the dogs may run up to you though they are well behaved. Also heard barking periodically through the night. It was a quick one night stay. The jam tasting would have been nice add on.

This is my 2nd stay at this hipcamp. i took a friend this time - we both had 18' camper vans and the site was spacious enough for us to manuever and park in flat spots. It was peaceful, clean and felt safe. I would recommend this site and plan to stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Imagine Family Farm! The property is secluded and private, making it a perfect spot to relax. The facilities were well-kept, and the bathroom was very clean (note there’s no indoor shower).
Since it’s a small farm, you may hear roosters in the morning. If you like to sleep in, that’s worth keeping in mind, but as an early riser I didn’t mind at all and actually found it added to the charm of the setting.
Overall, it’s a peaceful, comfortable place to stay, and we’d happily return.

We pulled in at night and Ryan was there to help us find our spot. In the morning, we awoke to a beautiful orchard surrounding us. We got to pick blackberries and pears. The pool area and bathroom was convenient. All around, I recommend it for a one night stay.

This was an amazing Hipcamp experience! Beautiful secluded area not far from Cambria and Cayucos. Tentsite was private and quiet. Wonderful amenities including a clean restroom and main fire pit. Ryan was such a thoughtful host and was kind enough to prepare the firepit for our arrival. Would definitely recommend and come back!

My wife and I had a great time at Barbara's hipcamp. The jam tasting and fresh made stones were phenomenal. The area was private. The site was level. The Astroturf was a great touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the walk through the shaded garden was lovely. Just remember to bring bug spray and watch out for fire ants.

Great shady spot in the oak forest of north Atascadero. We're road cyclists, and this area is prime cycling territory. Spent 5 wonderful days riding all over the area, even to coast twice. This spot is close to everything the Central Coast has to offer. And you have it all to yourself! No noisy neighbors, only farm animals, deer, crickets & lots of birds. Water & electric hookups were great, plus being able to dump gray water down the hill helped extend our stay. No issues manuevering our 25' TT into the site. Much better choice than any of the overpriced, party atmosphere RV resorts in the area!

Charming site with even more charming hosts. Was really cool to be in space that was as cute as it was let alone having been built by William himself -- he gave us a short and sweet tour in the beginning and it was perfectly prepped with lots of little amenities (everything u could need for smores including consumables, firewood, bug stuff, etc etc). Bathroom was super clean. Only slight bummer was that there was no power that we could use but William mentioned that it was a temporary propane generator outage that they were in the process of fixing asap.

The space was comfy & cozy & had all we needed. The compost toilet & outdoor shower were far cleaner & more pleasant to use than the average campground facilities. Would return!

My friends and I loved this spot! It’s a very fun and thoughtful property. There were lots of bees and yellow jackets which was the only down side since it made it hard to cook. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this spot!

Very nice place to stay. The canyon is beautiful and it’s nice to disconnect. There was very limited cell service in the canyon so I’d recommend making note of the gate code before you get there!

This was a perfect place to stop and camp while we drove up the 101. We only stayed one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. We were in a roof top tent and the camp sites were flat, the camping area was well manicured and peaceful.

Weekend Trip to Kindred Acre Wood
We had the most wonderful time! The camper is so cute and just spacious enough, it feels very private. The outdoor shower was lovely with very warm water! Great location as well! Close to downtown SLO and the beach. And Pluto really is as spectacular as everyone says, he is truly such a special dog and made us feel so at home. Our whole stay was very picturesque, from waking up and looking out the window at the oak trees to stargazing at night (with Pluto by our sides). We were very sad to leave.
