Ratchford Buffalo Farms is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks on roughly 500 acres. Where our Buffalo, Cattle and other animals graze in the meadows and fields and roam the hills and hollows and drink from 11 free flowing springs. My family has lived in these parts for over 150 years ever since my great grandfather settled here from Georgia. This land has been used for may things. From raising cotton, corn, hogs, cattle and at one time my family was one of the largest strawberry producers in the state and always raised a large vegetable garden. I can still remember my daddy plowing this ground with a big black team of mules. For the past 20 years we have raised Buffalo. But the commitment has always been the same. Taking the time to help your neighbor, even if he does not ask. Keeping your word, a man is only as good as his word . Treating people fairly and with respect, if you can not respect others you can not respect yourself. And for each generation to leave the land in better shape than when you started farming it.

Handmade modern rustic off grid glamping cabin. Sits down in the valley overlooking a small creek. Located between America's First National River, the Buffalo River and the most unique town in the Ozarks, Eureka Springs, AR. Just 6 miles to the Kings River. Surrounded by hiking, mountain biking, floating, fishing and hunting. Built with an emphasis on using locally milled rough sawn timber, reclaimed materials and handmade details throughout.
This is an off-grid glamping cabin. The parking area is just down the hill from the cabin. It's a short walk up to the cabin, you will need to across the foot bridge over the creek and up a few steps to the cabin. The terrain on the property could be muddy or loose at times. Always watch your footing. There is no running water, but there is an 8-gallon jug over the sink for drinking and washing. Extra water available for longer stays. Composting toilet outhouse behind the cabin. Compost toilet bucket is cleaned out after every guest. Propane hot water shower is only available in the warmer months (usually April through October). The cabin is powered by a small solar panel setup. Please do not plug in any personal devices. They could damage the electrical system or overwork it. USB charging dock for phones, laptops, etc. Good cell service with most providers. Basic LED lighting. Direct vent propane heater. Full size memory foam mattress with plenty of warm blankets. There is a two-burner propane cooktop and mini fridge. Bowls, plates, cups and silverware for two guests. Basic food prep items are also available. Round 2-person dining table looking out the big picture window. The creek will be running when there is sufficient rainfall. Guests have access to the designated trails. Rumor has it he built the original house and the barn which was become known to locals as a land mark “The Big Red Barn."
Mr. Martin is said to have also built most all the barns in the area, including one such barn which sits on property across the highway, he built while he had a broken leg!! This cabin and location are perfection. The amount of well-honed craft that went into building the cabin and its outbuildings like the shower and outhouse are stunning, but so, too, the thought that went into making a comfortable space for guests. The mini-fridge and the large amount of water in the kitchen were so welcome. The meandering trails made my dogs so happy as we walked them several times a day. Even the light fixtures are worth gazing upon. I left here rested and restored.

Wonderful peaceful secluded getaway. This cozy cabin was just what was needed. The kitchen had the necessary items for stove top meals. The bed and linens where comfortable for a good nights sleep. A well kept outhouse. And a nice porch to sit in nature or if rain or cold a big window so you can sit inside and not feel too removed from the outdoors.

Weekend Trip to lightning Bug Hideaway
We loved the tiny off-grid house on this gorgeous property. It had everything we needed to enjoy a weekend getaway including a cozy bed, kitchen basics, and outdoor fire pit with chairs. We also enjoyed exploring the land and creek close by. Rob showed us around upon arriving. He was friendly and made us feel quite welcome.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Airstream Retreat
We enjoyed our stay on Hally’s family farm. The airstream is really cute. The hot tub is a good touch and the covered deck was great during a storm while also providing shade in the sun. The bed was and comfy and we had pretty much everything we needed. There were a couple hiccups but Hally was very responsive. The airstream is located about 30 minutes to Branson and we enjoyed going to table rock lake to swim.

Halley really has something special here. We were really impressed by the entire property; it was hilly, forested, covered in wildflowers, and overall just beautiful. The airstream itself was very well organized and decorated, we felt so cozy the entire weekend, especially since there was so much rain! The view from the trailer was amazing, we were treated to cows grazing and calves playing throughout our stay.
I cannot recommend this place enough. The hosts were communicative, the bed was comfy and who doesn't love an evening hot tub session. Easily a 5 star stay. We will be back!

What an awesome Hipcamp stay! The Airstream was clean and stocked with all the essentials, even quality toilet paper! We loved getting to have our doggo with us and appreciated the hot tub after longs days of hiking at Hercules Glades Wilderness. We ordered ribeyes from the ranch and highly recommend. Our city kids got to have a great ranch experience and we are happy they got to see how hard the ranch hands work to care for the animals. The ranch dogs were a major plus! We biked around the property during down time and the views were spectacular. This is a very quiet and secluded stay, but close to hiking, stream walking, bike parks and small town restaurants which was exactly what we wanted. We would stay here again any time we are planning to be in this part of the state!

We loved our stay at the Buffalo Farm cabin 1! It was exactly as pictured and went above and beyond our expectations. Star gazing while in the hot tub was unbelievable! We also saw a fox in the field behind the cabin. The cabin was in a great location - in the quiet countryside, but not too remote. An added bonus was LC’s tour of his farm. It was fun to see the animals (some close up) but our favorite was getting to feed the buffalo. LC is an amazing host and took care to make sure we had an awesome stay. Can’t wait to go back!
