We recommend high clearance and/or 4WD or AWD vehicles. If you are unable to cross the creek, you will need to park in the parking area and walk across the creek to reach your site.

Sitting above the Arkansas River you have an excellent view of the river from two vantage points. With a large almost 2 acre clearing there is plenty of room to roam. Magical sunsets and more stars than you can count! When it's a full moon, you can watch it coming up through the trees as you are sitting in front of the fire. If you are really lucky, sometimes you can watch the searchlight from the river barges as they navigate the big bend in the river. If you are a nature lover this place has it all. It is very secluded and a little more concealed, which can be good on hot days as there are more trees for coverage. NOTE: Site 2 can only support tents and small popups. The site will allow for multiple vehicles to be parked, so no problem there. If you bring any vehicles please do not ride them on the property as they damage the grass, there are lots of good off-road riding to be had in the area. Toadsuck Lock and Dam park are about 30 minutes away, and if you need a big Walmart there is one 10 minutes past that. There is also a big Walmart about 30 minutes in the other direction at the intersection of Chenal Parkway and Cantrell Road. And if you like hiking and climbing then you cannot miss Pinnacle Mountain State Park! Climb to the top and get the best views in all the area, 360 degrees views up there. And if you want something a little less steep, the Kingfisher trail at the bottom makes a nice gentle loop next to the Little Maumelle river where you can see absolutely GIANT cypress trees. Also, the Ouachita National Recreation Trailpasses just 5 miles from our place, and it loops around the entire north side of Lake Maumelle. There is a trailhead and parking near North Shore Landing. If you’re going through the Ozark National Forest make this a stop. Full Hook ups and 100 yards off the road. Just a few minutes south of Jasper is a great trail. Then another 5 miles down the road is Kevin’s full set up. He also let me recycle what we had onboard. Thanks Again! Highly recommended!!

Weekend Trip to Red Fern

We chose the glamping option which I would recommend. When we arrived, our tent was fully set up with a double high queen mattress, cooking and eating utensils, paper towels, toilet paper, and bottled water. Since the weekend was suppose to be cold, there were tons of blankets and even a propane powered heater provided. The site we were at needed a little more tender, loving care as it was a fresh, new site, but was in a beautiful spot overlooking a lovely, blue swimming hole. The sounds of the river/creek and our crackling fire were magical. Due to unforseen circumstances, (and unexpectedly frigid weather that we were not completely prepared for) we had to cut our trip short, but Sam and Michelle were completely understanding. We love visiting Arkansas and the property was beautiful, especially with the fall leaves in full color. I would definitely recommend this spot and would come back in the future. Also, the directions were clear and easy to follow and any questions or concerns were promptly addressed.

Valley of peace was a perfect place to unplug for the weekend! The host was very helpful and kind. He stopped by each day to see if we needed anything. He had plenty of fire wood to purchase. He has a beautiful piece of land and we enjoyed saying hi to the farm dogs! We got to hook up to the WiFi once but don’t depend on it for the whole time it’s a little spotty. I’d definitely download an offline map.

Weekend Trip to Enchanted Ozark Fairytale Camp

We had a wonderful stay at Enchantment Ozark Fairy Tale camp. The property is remote while only being a short distance from town. The sites are well spaced so even if you have neighbors you still have plenty of privacy. Mizzy was very friendly and helpful with check in and answering any questions we had. She brought a rake to clear up all the walnuts that had fallen from the tree so we would have a flat and smooth spot for our tent. She also brought us a trash can to use. The best part was how quiet and peaceful the whole area was. She is blessed to own such a beautiful piece of property and we're thankful that she shares it with campers like us. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Private. Peaceful. Perfect. The donkeys are very curious and seriously beg for you to pet them. The sound of the river was very soothing! We stopped by the pottery place at the beginning of the dirt road. What a gem! So much to explore! Not enough time.

Weekend Trip to Barnyard Camping Experience

Sharita and her barnyard crew were fantastic hosts from the moment I arrived! I enjoyed camping amongst the chickens and ducks. The overall site was better than expected, with everything I needed. The porta potty was just a short walk way and was very clean, and I had access to a microwave and mini fridge, too. It was pretty rainy and wet during my stay, but Sharita was extremely kind and made sure I stayed dry. She even set up a painting lesson in the barn, and I had a fantastic time learning from her! I highly recommend staying at the barnyard and will do so again myself if I'm ever back in the area!
