Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!! There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river. BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. PLEASE -- we don't want to be bothered with phone calls and text messages -- not here anyway. Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

It can be a little tricky if you are pulling a RV. We've been able to get a 32-footer (pictured) but there is a particular way to maneuver in there. Learn more about this land: Keep it as simple as possible on the edge of the woods. Pitch a tent, do some fishing, or just chill and read your favorite books. Our little Lakeview hide-away is ideal for a quick get-away that's not too far away. Even if you forget to bring something, there a gas station with fishing supplies less than 8 minutes drive. 110 and 220 connections.

Abby’s land is very beautiful, you are surrounded by pastures and trees, which are all a lush green. This is a working ranch, so there are goats, cattle and a large very friendly stock dog. My dog, Sheppard mix, got a long very well with the owners dog. The site was very level and has a new gravel pad with all the hook-ups in new working order. I backed into the site with my 21’ trailer and 21’ truck hooked up and there a few extra feet left over. Abby’s place would be a good destination for more then one day, if I didn’t have to travel the next day I would have liked to stay another night.

The highlight of my stay was witnessing the total solar eclipse from this picturesque setting. Abby and her family were incredibly accommodating, allowing me to check in very early in the morning so I wouldn't miss a moment of the eclipse. Their hospitality made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend Abby's farm to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature. During my stay, I noticed many families also enjoying their time, which speaks volumes about the farm's appeal to a wide range of guests. It's a place I'll definitely return to in the future!

It was easy to find, very well kept up, very pretty. We were there for the eclipse, and it was perfect. Host met us and made it easy to find a spot. His kids were great and came around to haul trash, and even brought around breakfast and lunch sandwiches for a fair price. There were maybe 100 people with plenty of room, no crowding, no excess noise. And they had baby goats and a nice dog. City water for drinking. There was a porta potty, even though info said there was no toilet and we should bring camp toilet. I felt like they went out of their way to make it great. Very pleasant spot, and if in the area, I would camp there again.

This farm is one of the most beautiful farms I’ve ever seen. There is a lot of open space to spread out and it was accessible with a minivan towing a teardrop trailer. The hosts were very kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. Our children were especially excited about getting to pet the goats! It was an all-around positive experience. We are so grateful that this lovely place was available to camp at for the total eclipse - we will forever remember our time spent here.

Great private location for a group of several families. Water available about 200 yards from the site. Regina is very attentive and helpful host and will help you out with whatever you need. She provided plenty of firewood and a garbage can on site which was very handy. Fire pit and picking table were great. They have 55 acres and quite a few marked trails for excursions with kiddos down to a stream and pond.

This spot is a great place to get away from it all to relax and recharge. It was a primo spot to enjoy the total solar eclipse. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Having full hookups was a bonus. We’d definitely recommend and would love to stay again.
