Buffalo River Hideaway, WE NOW HAVE COMMERCIAL PORTA-POTTY AT SITE. We have level gravel parking pads, less than a mile, as a crow flies, from the Buffalo National River. About 2 miles straight from the Gilbert access, perfectly situated for any river-play for the Middle Section of the River. In Gilbert, you can find “Buffalo Camping and Canoeing Outfitters” for all of your river floating/vessel rentals. Numerous local restaurants: Big Springs Trading, Ferguson’s, CrawBilly’s, or grab some smoked ham/bacon/cheese at Coursey’s. During the season and on weekends, one can usually find live music at some of these venues. No hookup services at this time. WATER ONSITE - -Commercial PORTA-POTTY ONSITE and serviced weekly. The site is very private and peaceful in the river-backwoods, where wildlife abounds. It will be your option whether to keep the gates open or closed during your stay. Please keep in mind the site is just off a county-maintained gravel/dust road. During the dry season, the road dust could affect certain persons with breathing issues. Also, there is, a very high concentration of Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds flying about.
About a mile east of the double gates, is beautiful Red Bluff Overlook, Sand Hole river-access, and further down these many dirt-roads that parallel along the river, you can get to the North Maumee access point of the Buffalo National River. Hiking trails are found at Gilbert and Tyler Bend, intersecting with other trails that lead beyond and along the river. Swimming holes can be found at:; Gilbert gravel bar 2.5 miles, Grinder’s Ferry 7.7 miles, Shine Eye 7.8 miles, Tyler Bend 11 miles, Baker Ford 11 miles, and - 4WD or AWD vehicles are HIGHLY recommended to get to the river-swim-float accesses.. Don’t forget your fishing gear for the small-mouth bass at these swimming holes! Please familiarize yourself with fishing laws and fish limits, specifically for the Buffalo River. Branson is 66 miles away, and Springfield, Missouri, is 110 mi in distance. Host is always nearby/onsite. Inverter type generators are acceptable, and please take your trash upon departure. Please do not leave trash or cans in the fire pit. Firewood available. .

Not to mention, world-class trout fishing or kayaking just 5 minutes away in the famous White River! Only 25 minutes to 2 Norfork Lake entrances, too!

There are plenty of things to do around here for kids, such as building fires and making s’mores, hiking, climbing trees, catching frogs and crawdads, fishing, and swimming. Located 5 miles outside of Eureka Springs city limits there you can find shopping, restaurants, nightlife, zip lines, mountain biking, horseback riding, and many other things. I am a stone throw away from Holiday Island city limits where you can find restaurants, golfing, walking trails, and the marina where you can rent a boat or just put yours in. There is a RV and boat storage facility on the property so if you like this area that much you can store your toys here and come back every weekend to play with them. Buffalo River Hideaway, WE NOW HAVE COMMERCIAL PORTA-POTTY AT SITE. We have level gravel parking pads, less than a mile, as a crow flies, from the Buffalo National River. About 2 miles straight from the Gilbert access, perfectly situated for any river-play for the Middle Section of the River. In Gilbert, you can find “Buffalo Camping and Canoeing Outfitters” for all of your river floating/vessel rentals. Numerous local restaurants: Big Springs Trading, Ferguson’s, CrawBilly’s, or grab some smoked ham/bacon/cheese at Coursey’s. During the season and on weekends, one can usually find live music at some of these venues. No hookup services at this time. WATER ONSITE - -Commercial PORTA-POTTY ONSITE and serviced weekly. The site is very private and peaceful in the river-backwoods, where wildlife abounds. It will be your option whether to keep the gates open or closed during your stay. Please keep in mind the site is just off a county-maintained gravel/dust road. During the dry season, the road dust could affect certain persons with breathing issues. Also, there is, a very high concentration of Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds flying about.
About a mile east of the double gates, is beautiful Red Bluff Overlook, Sand Hole river-access, and further down these many dirt-roads that parallel along the river, you can get to the North Maumee access point of the Buffalo National River. Hiking trails are found at Gilbert and Tyler Bend, intersecting with other trails that lead beyond and along the river. Swimming holes can be found at:; Gilbert gravel bar 2.5 miles, Grinder’s Ferry 7.7 miles, Shine Eye 7.8 miles, Tyler Bend 11 miles, Baker Ford 11 miles, and - 4WD or AWD vehicles are HIGHLY recommended to get to the river-swim-float accesses.. Don’t forget your fishing gear for the small-mouth bass at these swimming holes! Please familiarize yourself with fishing laws and fish limits, specifically for the Buffalo River. Branson is 66 miles away, and Springfield, Missouri, is 110 mi in distance. Host is always nearby/onsite. Inverter type generators are acceptable, and please take your trash upon departure. Please do not leave trash or cans in the fire pit. Firewood available. .

This place was breathtaking, if you love primitive camping & ATV trails, I went camping with my dog for some peace and hiking. The place is huge, the trails aren’t really marked very well for hiking so it was a bit of a challenge finding landmarks. I would highly recommend staying here if you love the outdoors. The owner was extremely nice.

The farm was wonderful. Was visited by goats and an alpaca also several very friendly dogs hung out with me while stargazing. Myke and Claire are wonderful hosts! Very much appreciated the warm cabin this cold December weekend! The hilltop/hammock area has an amazing view of the night sky. So happy to have watched the 2025 Geminids from here and would totally stay out here again.

This was an oasis of beauty and healing. I was a solo female camper. Mizzy was a great host and I could see her working to maintain the camp to its beauty. I felt very safe. The hippy van was great. The bathroom was clean and I enjoyed all the special nature decor around the camp. Perfect views. Great fire pits. Loved the drive up the gravel road and back it’s breathtaking. This was the perfect place for a quick weekend camping trip! The covered platform site was perfect for shade and keeping things dry. We spent the whole time there at camp sitting around the awesome fire pit and enjoyed the quiet solitude. The sites are all spaced nicely and there are plenty of trees for shade and hammocks. The short walk to the waterfall and overlook was definitely worthwhile. It was great to have a hot shower too!
There was no cell service which was actually pretty nice but do plan accordingly. Also bring more water than you think you’ll need.

It was an enchanted experience, for sure. We stayed in the Container Home and it was absolutely perfect. It was nestled away from the other sites with its very own view of the magical tree line. Mizzy is the host with the most. Her presence and energy matched the peaceful vibes of the environment and she made sure we had everything we could need. Her land was absolutely beautiful, with just a short walk to the creek. The road to the campsite was a bit rugged, but small vehicles seemed to make their way to this hideaway as well as 4x4s. Definitely will visit again.

So perfect! If you want a back country experience connecting with nature in a magical setting without hauling a backpack this is it! Appropriately named EDEN Springs. Our campsite, The Landing, was very large, flat, and nestled in the trees. It had a large fire ring off to the side and a grill we used to cook steaks over the fire. The communication with Tim was second to none and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect!
