Sun & Moon Geo Dome Retreat

2 sites · Lodging2 acres · Dewey, AZ
It seems like nearly everyone who comes here says this is a peaceful place!  It's like being out in the country whilst still being close enough to so many things, halfway between Sedona and Prescott, in a neighborhood with dirt roads and farm animals in which horses have the right away. The mountains are hypnotic. The air is clean. The stars are breathtaking. You can see the Milky Way on a clear night. The sunsets and sunrises are gorgeous and we see a lot of double rainbows here. The dome is fully furnished for 4 people. Inside there's a queen bed, futon, clean linens, table w/chairs, portable a/c, electric heater; propane heater, lamps, microwave (for indoor cooking), ice maker, Keurig coffee maker, mini-fridge, USB & outlets for small devices (light electrical usage only), and WIFI is available. Plus a yoga mat, books, & a binder with food and sightseeing recommendations for the area. Outside there's a picnic table, propane grill with side burner, propane firepit with comfortable seating surrounding. The clear dome windows are showing signs of aging, so the best star and sunset/sunrise viewing is outside. The outhouse building is equipped with a camping toilet, pump sink, and a camping shower (now heated!). One towel per guest, grill utensils, cups, and plate ware provided. Bring disposables if you do not want to wash your own dishes. Most of the time guests are able to park next to the dome but sometimes, weather depending, it will be necessary to park and walk in about a hundred feet away from the dome. Also on the property you'll find a walking path carved out through the trees behind the dome with a medicine wheel and labyrinth. The property is located in a rural neighborhood so there are other houses around, but at a far distance, with still plenty of privacy.  There are lots of animals like cardinals, hawks, owls, blue jays, roadrunners, hummingbirds, jackrabbits, cottontails, coyotes, and mule deer.  Farm animals like donkeys make sounds in the distance which is pretty comical at times. There are occasional sightings of beer, wolves, and mountain lions. The location is central to so many incredible places to explore. Within an hour each direction, there is distinctly different natural terrain to discover. Our local Mortimer Farm is 7 miles away and has a bakery (breakfast/sandwiches/treats), seasonal activities including pick your own food, farm dancing, and monthly farm to table dinners. We also have a local winery, golf course, café, pizzeria, subway and BBQ restaurant.  Here are some of the sight seeing possibilities you could use this location to launch from, just to get your mind percolating: Grand Canyon (2.5 hours)Devil’s Bridge (Sedona) Cathedral rock (Sedona) Bell Rock (Sedona) Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona) Bumblebee Giant Saguaros (North Phoenix) Watson’s Lake (Prescott) Granite Dels (Prescott) Ghost Town Tour (Jerome) Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff) Wupatki National Monument (Flagstaff) Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument (Flagstaff) Arizona Snowbowl (Flagstaff) Antelope Canyon (Page) Lake Powell (Page) Horseshoe Bend (Page) Petrified Forest National Park (2.75 hours) Meteor Crater National Landmark (2 hours) Walnut Canyon National Monument (Flagstaff) Montezuma Castle National Monument and Well (Camp Verde) Out of Africa Wildlife Park (Camp Verde) Desert Botanical Gardens (Phoenix) Wine Tasting (Page Springs) It's my intention that anyone who stays here, leaves more nourished in spirit, more firmly planted in their true selves and more deeply in alignment with nature's rhythm. Looking forward to your visit!

Rogue's Rendezvous

1 site · RV, Tent1 acre · Williams, AZ
Welcome to Rogue's Rendezvous, a private wooded acre near the Grand Canyon. Almost “glamping,” our family and pet-friendly RV camp is near Williams, AZ, "the Gateway to the Grand Canyon." This is a great place to begin your Northern Arizona adventures, gather with family and friends, rest your body and spirit, or stop over on your road trip. THIS IS A UNIQUE SITE AND WE WANT OUR GUESTS TO BE HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE. PLEASE REVIEW THE FULL SITE DESCRIPTION and AMENITIES BEFORE REQUESTING A RESERVATION. Unlike typical RV parks, we offer a full acre for your private camping experience; you do not have to share this site with others. The area is fully fenced so you, your well-behaved dogs and kids can run free. The privacy and amenities – somewhere between “rustic” and “glamping” – make Rogue’s Rendezvous a unique space and an excellent staging ground for gatherings and area adventures. Rogue’s Rendezvous is off the beaten path but easy to access (on a well-maintained dirt road) and close to many area points of interest. The property is located off Historic Route 66 (Interstate 40) between Williams and Flagstaff, and an hour south of the Grand Canyon (south entrance). We welcome clean, respectful campers to enjoy our "happy place." The property is in a shady and quiet pine-studded development and is accessed via an automatic gate. The site is gently sloping with red earth driveways and has three spaces to easily park various RV types with hookups (including electrical and septic only, no water); the RV “carport” that is adjacent to the covered deck can accommodate RVs less than 13 ft high. Full instructions, the gate code, and a site map with hookup locations will be sent with check-in instructions. NOTES: Know before you go! - Cell & Internet Service: This area is somewhat remote, but does have limited cell service – calls are ok, texts work, but texting images or media may not be possible. There is NO WI-FI or internet service here. This is a great opportunity to disconnect and enjoy being “off the grid.” - Elevation: We are at an elevation of approximately 6400 feet. Take care of yourself to avoid altitude sickness! Drink lots of water, rest plenty, and pay attention to your body. - Weather: The weather can change dramatically throughout the day and the year here. Please come prepared for anything, and please check expected conditions prior to camping. Winter conditions may prevent site access between October and April. - There are train tracks nearby (approx. ¼ mile away), and we can hear the humming of passing trains, both during the day and at night. We do not find it problematic (our kids don’t even notice) and some of us find trains fun and exciting (we enjoy watching the train crossing a couple of miles down the road). However, if you are sensitive to noise, this might not be the right place for you. NEARBY: - hiking, lakes, Historic Williams, Grand Canyon, Bearizona, Rt. 66, and so much more.

Mystic Arizona Ranch

1 site · Lodging40 acres · Ash Fork, AZ
We welcome you to our rustically cozy off-grid retreat center sitting on 40 acres in the high desert mountains with self-sustainable accommodation in our Skylit Yurt Shala. (This is a proper yurt, not a bell tent. Check our other listings for bell tent options coming soon - as of now, this is the only space for rent on our property so you can ensure privacy). Enjoy magical nights under the Northern Arizona stars, the sound of silence and all the city comforts such as warm showers (5 minutes), flushing toilets and a simple solar-powered indoor kitchen (shared if any other guests are on-site, though that is rare). Think of the ranch as your home away from home either with complete privacy or curated with various add-on experiences such as private yoga and meditation classes with our trauma-informed teacher. We invite you to step away from the noises and distractions of city life and step into the stillness the mystical Northern Arizona mountains have to offer either. The yurt is surrounded by dense juniper trees with a gorgeous canyon view to top it off. There is a compost toilet within a 30 second walk and a flushing toilet within a minute or two walk. No neighbors in site out on our 40 mystical acres. In order to provide this remote and private nature immersion, we are located 6 miles down an unmaintained dirt road. We drive in & out in a Toyota Camry other than during storms. We are about 25 minutes outside of Ash Fork, Arizona off of the Crookton exit. We will provide detailed directions and instructions prior to your arrival. We offer free shuttle services when roads are wet or you can choose to pass with 4WD. We will keep an eye on the forecast. Check us out on Instagram at @mystic.arizona.escapes The yurt has an air cooler to stay cool in the summer and a wood burning stove to stay warm in the winter. Wood for the fire is included. We are located 25 minutes from the nearest gas station and about 45 minutes to the nearest grocery store so please come prepared. We are sometimes on the property with our little baby but keep to ourselves and are often away for the weekend :).
