Richard's property is eclectic and fun to wander. He met Mr a the gate and I was immediately introduced to two wonderful livestock dogs. Once we met, they were my friends and guardians as I wandered the property. Richard is the kindest man and shared lots of stories. The property is full of fun art from past burning man ventures. I think this guy could build anything you could imagine. There are goats, ducks, and a green house where he grows good own vegetables. He and a friend are planning on growling micro greens in a contraption they built. This spot was a lot of fun and the perfect place to spend time and relax.
If you are not into being in a chill atmosphere, animals and some duck poop, them stay clear. But if you want to experience a fun piece of property then this is the place. Make sure you get to know Richard and ask for a tour. You won't regret the experience.

Place is very well maintained , Richard was a very good host , helped us till we start the fire.

Nani was a remarkable host. Her land is quiet, clean and very pretty. She took the time to drive and meet us and escorted us to her campground. Each spot has a fire pit, picnic table and pad for tents. A really cute outhouse is in between the sites. She has built everything herself, which is quite impressive. She's a carpenter.
I do want to note that it is a 9.5 mile drive down a non paved road. It is very ruddy and washboard. We've been boondocking for 7 years and have been on some challenging roads. But, if you are somewhat inexperienced or have a vehicle that isn't equipped for it, you should be aware before attempting. However, it was definitely worth the stay. Beautiful property, very kind hostess and super quiet.

It was a lovely stay and the accomodations were great! Very clean. We appreciated both indoor and dome options for sleeping.
The stars were showy and the ambiance at night inside the dome was pretty magical.

It was a great spot. The tent was very comfy and then indoor room and bathroom was nice. Unfortunately we went on a night where it was a rare overcast night so I cant speak to the view if the stars, but I would happily return and try again if I was in the area.

Our time at Richards land was a great experience. The art around the property was really cool to look at, the tent sites were all flat and spaced out well, and we even got to use his fire pit to have a bonfire. There were ducks, a turkey, the friendly yard dog, and even goats so it felt like a little farm experience. The host was very accommodating with everything we needed and I felt comfortable bringing my two children there. As we left, he even showed us around his greenhouse and sent us in our way with peppers, basil, green onion, and carrots. We really enjoyed our one night here.

1 night at Stargazing Retreats Homestay
We absolutely loved this place! We were a bit worried about the temperature but the Ac in the indoor and star gazing unit were both great! It was extremely clean. Having the indoor room was so nice to actually sleep in once we had finished stargazing. The yard was also beautiful. The only downfall were people walking by on the porch constantly and taking us by surprise. That could have been a bit more private.

Nani is just an incredible person all around, we absolutely loved meeting her and chatting. My wife and I cherished our stay at Lancelot, you can tell that Nani’s heart and soul went into setting up and maintaining this beautiful campground. If you are looking for the perfect place to relax in seclusion while enjoying the out of this world stargazing, this is the spot to do it. We will absolutely be back.

Very interesting place to camp! It’s on a farm with lots of animals and art. We got to feed the goats! The host was cool and sat and talked with us for a bit and even offered some duck eggs for breakfast. The site itself was very chill and pretty private. It’s down next to the river so it was a good 5-10 degrees cooler and it was all very shaded. We had some trees to set up hammocks. Bring bug spray! I would definitely recommend this spot!

I truly enjoyed this trip! I went in went an open mind and it was just as I had hoped for. I loved holding the beautiful animals and seeing the wonderful art Richard and his friends have created. Richard and his friends are such kind people and very talented! I felt so welcome and would highly recommend to those who enjoy a hippie life style with animals! The heat was rough at night but it cooled down around 11 pm and was great. Bring bug spray!!

This spot offers great views and very quiet. If it is a clear night great for star gazing. Howard is super responsive and even provides some firewood. Although it is a bit to dry now and there is a fire ban.

Kathy and Chang are incredible hosts, so hospitable and accommodating. The property and domes are great! It kinda feels like your own little spaceship. It’s a great home base for Sedona and surrounding areas, easy to find, and you get a regular bedroom when you book with full bathrooms and beds in case you get cold, hot, or whatever and can sleep there if the dome doesn’t work for you. I would absolutely recommend this spot and will definitely be visiting again when I can.

Richard is a generous and kind host, as is his tenant/assistant. The entry into the property is a bit off putting, but the sites are well maintained. It’s like camping in a grove and very lovely. Richard has two huge livestock guardians dogs that look very intimidating, but are both lovely creatures. The older would lay outside our door like she was guarding it. It is a very quiet location.
