It is nothing like their website, no eggs, veggies or anything, not even a host BUT it is quiet and beautiful. Wild animals and wild dogs kept showing up so do not let your dog be off leash.

We loved the security and charm of this pretty, secure, campsite in the middle of a very urban area. There are lovely design choices in the charming campsite space - as well as water, electrics, etc. and it felt very private and safe: for our dog, for us, for leaving our camper. Clear communication and a warm welcome. I wish we had stayed longer and used the generous kindling and logs for the firepit as the space is so welcoming. The bright streetlight and some highway noise were not unexpected in the city - we would certinaly stay here again.

This was one of the best places we've ever stayed! The host, Amber, was incredible and made sure we had everything we needed. The area is secluded and private and we never heard any noise other than nature. We loved that it's a working cattle ranch with horses, cattle, and pigs. The animals were all friendly and never bothered us. Oh, there was a very friendly barn cat that did snuggle with us a bunch! The camper was an amazing accommodation that offered everything we needed for an indoor experience and sleeping. The hiking opportunities are endless here! With just a 10 minute hike you can be on the top of a mountain overlooking 2 different valleys that the Gila river runs through. In about a 20-25ish minute hike you can make it from the camp clear into a hidden valley on the back side and make it right up to a secret spot next to the Gila river. We spent half a day at this spot relaxing and enjoying the weather and nature! It's about a 10 minute drive to the nearest town for any supplies or if you want a restaurant. We only went once to get more drinking water and we were back at camp within the hour! We will definitely stay here again! We love the place and it's less than 2 hours from our house! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thank you so much Amber! We appreciated everything you did to make our stay wonderful! : )

The views were lovely and we found the camp to be spotlessly clean. The bathroom was amazing, much nicer than pictured, and also pristine. There was definitely a lot of attention to detail in creating this space. My husband and I are older and we often have friends who are nervous about camping. This would be a perfect spot for anyone wanting to have a little get away or practice camping, yet feel safe while doing so.

Staying in the casita was the perfect setup for our getaway with our dogs! Visiting the desert with pets can be really hard, since the heat can be overwhelming and they aren’t allowed in many of the areas of the national park. Conny’s air conditioned Casita space was so perfect for us! We were able to keep the dogs safely inside for the hottest parts of the day, then hiked with them off leash through the acres and acres of BLM land that surrounds the property. I think this is one of the best ways to experience the desert, and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling with dogs. The land is beautiful and close enough to the national park that you get to experience all the wonder of the saguaros and the animals from the ranch. Be mindful of the distance from town though! The closest grocery store is 45 minutes away, and the road coming in can be difficult at night.

Weekend Trip to SaguaroGlamp, near Saguaro NP

Our family wanted to enjoy some quiet time in nature and this ranch turned out to be a perfect choice. In less than one hour from Tucson, we were in the middle of over 50 acres of wild dessert. Our room was in a private courtyard attached to the main house. It was comfortable, immaculate and provided superb views of the dessert. We spotted a roadrunner, quail, woodpeckers, spiders, millipedes and the Sonoran Toad. We also enjoyed star gazing and night photography. Our gracious hostess Cornelia quickly responded to our questions before our arrival. Getting there requires driving on an unpaved road for the last five miles. Our car was not equipped for this but Cornelia picked us up at the entrance to the farm. She and her family were warm and helpful and added to our Comfy, laid- back holiday at Casita Alpina.

Due to some issues with receiving our new van, we basically lost a day of our trip, so we didn't get to spend the night at Iron Quail as planned. We kept Michael informed and did stop by for a quick look at his ranch and take advantage of his modern outhouse (full bathhouse) which was great. Michael was a great host and showed us around his ranch and taught us about it all. He was very patient and nice to our 7-year-old granddaughter answering all her questions and allowing her to pet the dogs, goats, and chickens. She loved the experience. Thanks Michael and hope to make it back so we can spend a night in the dark desert!

Beautiful desert property! You can see they put a lot of work into it. We stayed there as a “quick” way to get to kitt peak observatory, which you can see from the campsite!! It is an hour drive up but that’s about as close as you can camp to the observatory!

We stayed at Sophia's and Anthony's campsite for two nights. I can't say enough good things about this site! The garden is beautiful 😍 and the fence was nice and secure for our two mid-sized dogs. Anthony was a huge help to us as we backed in (we're pretty new at this). Sophia was always available to answer questions. The location was very convenient for the places we needed to go in Tucson. Overall, highly recommended!

Sarah’s place was perfect! The sliding metal gate made me feel safe and private. The hookups worked great and it was a perfect place to have out. The location was close to everything. I’ll definitely stay there again.

NEW for 2025! Campsite Kitt is a spacious pull-through site with a hard covered 12x10 covered pavilion, picnic table, fire pit, trash can and a 12x12 tent pad. The site can accommodate an RV or a tent. This site gets it's name from Kitt Peak observatory which can be seen in the far background of this photo.

We enjoyed seeing the animals and sitting in the creek even though it was pretty cold! Don’t think twice about booking this place ! Our host went above and beyond and the experience was great.

Iron Quail is amazing. I can't say enough nice things. The hosts are super attentive and accessible. The sites are impeccable. The views spectacular, you're surrounded by breathtaking views 360⁰. The sunsets!!!!! The bathhouse is clean. Opt to have a mesquite pancake bfast. You won't be disappointed. Don't be concerned if you book the Kitt site and the proximity to the goats. They do not make a peep through the night.
