A ranch of nearly 100,000 acres jointly owned by Marion Clark and Croydon Cooley a U.S. army scout. According to legend, sometime around 1876, the partners decided that there was not enough room for both of them and one of them should leave. They decided to settle this issue over a game of "Seven Up" (with the winner taking the ranch and the loser leaving.) After the game seemed to have no winner in sight the game reached it's climax when Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." At this point Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs, and declared "Show Low" it is! Show Low is a city in Navajo County, Arizona among the lush green ponderosa pine forestland and along Arizona's Mogollon Rim at an elevation of 6,345 feet. Show Low is now the largest city in the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. Show Low is also the business hub and marketing center of the area. Silver Streak Sally

1 site · Lodging1 acre · Young, AZ
Closed for the season- hope to be open in April of 2024! Sorry- no infants or children under 12 (stairs/retaining wall falling hazard) Sally is a 1976 Silver Streak Trailer- completely redone on the inside- although she still has vintage charm. This cozy Young rental is located in the midst of nature but still in a neighborhood, and can accommodate two guests for a romantic weekend getaway in Arizona. Comfy Queen bed with ensuite bathroom (sink, toilet, shower). In truth the indoor shower is rarely used- the huge Bath House just outside has a rain shower and shower wand, claw foot bath tub and flush toilet. Hot soak in the tub or plunge into the Cowboy stock tank just steps away. Private! In the living area, guests can lounge on comfortable chairs and relax watching TV (bring your passwords!), the dining table is perfect for two people. The kitchen is equipped with enough cooking utensils, dishes and silverware, pots and pans, a microwave, small fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee maker (coffee, creamer, sugar), and air fryer to satisfy your weekend needs. Other amenities include free parking and Wi-Fi, and gas grill. When guests go outside, they will find a covered porch with two chairs and the outdoor fire table has more seating for star gazing (black sky- no city lights). Also, outdoor table and chairs for dining. There will NEVER be anyone in the Gray Cabin unless you rent it so you can use the extra beds. The fully fenced acre will let your small to medium size dog race around and go crazy with freedom!

Love Red Lodge

3 sites · RVs, Tents42 acres · Winslow West, AZ
This property has been a dream come true! It's a 42.22 acre property in the high desert of Navajo County, AZ. It is currently the home to my tiny house project (not currently available to rent, but hopefully it will be soon!) and eventually it'll be home to a small vineyard. It is peaceful, calm, and has beautiful views all around. The terrain is rolling grassland with junipers and nearby canyons. Learn more about this land:This is NOT a glamping experience. This is a primitive, remote, off-grid, starry night experience.Camp out on my beautiful, open ranch land with wide views including the San Francisco Peaks to the west. The stars are beautiful and most nights you can see at least 1 planet. The space is rolling grassland with junipers throughout. A wash runs through my property, with slab rocks and lots of wildlife - see jackrabbits, deer, coyotes, and even the extremely endangered Mexican Grey Wolf. Access a side canyon of Chevelon Canyon by taking about a 1/2 mile walk from the property (directions can be provided!) to get some exercise in and explore a beautiful Arizona canyon. Native American artifacts have been known to be found in the area - if you find any on the property please admire them and leave them in place :).Select your tent spot anywhere on the property. You have 42 acres to choose from! There are spots where we've had several large tents set up at once just west of the tiny house, down the hill from the stone fire ring on the property. There are also several more spots up hill and between junipers - explore and find your spot! RVs would be best to part in the circular driveway near the tiny house. There aren't other formal roads on the property at this time. There is a tiny house on the property as well as several in-progress art pieces. See the pictures for more details! The tiny house is not currently available for rent, but I expect that down the line I might be able to make it available for Hipcampers. The property is part of Chevelon Canyon Ranch, a ranch with privately owned 40+ acre parcels. There is a ramada and community well, and the dirt roads are maintained by the association. During the drier times of the year the property is accessible by cars, but during rainy seasons and other times of rough weather it's best to access with a higher clearance vehicle. FWD is not usually necessary. The ranch is located about an hour north of Heber, AZ, 3.5 hours from Phoenix.Cell signal is very limited throughout the ranch. My property is positioned with some of the best reception in the ranch, so if you're on Verizon you will likely have a weak to moderate signal most of your stay. Most other carriers (particularly TMobile and Sprint) will have little to no signal after leaving the pavement. Enjoy the disconnected time!

Tiny Town Arizona

12 sites · Lodging40 acres · Show Low, AZ
In November 2015 I visited my good friends Brad and Joya who had recently purchased  40 acres outside of Show Low, Arizona and moved to the property.  I instantly fell in love with the land.  The quiet open spaces,  the abundant junipers and the vistas looking up to the White Mountains of Arizona.  Fortunately there was forty acres for sale that I bought in the winter of 2016.  Since then my partners and I expanded by buying an adjacent 60 acres for a total of 100 acres.  I have always been interested in sustainable off-the-grid living.  Fortunately for that dream there were no services to the property so we started planning what we needed to live comfortably on the Land.  The moto Food, Water, Shelter came to me.  With that in mind our first purchase was a 28' by 40' green house, and then came our well.  Next we purchased a 600 sq. foot one bedroom manufactured home which we now use as our office and check in point.  For power we have a 8.5 kw solar system that gives power to the house. With the wide open spaces it is tranquil not having power lines on the property. We wanted to grow a cash crop that was consistent with our theme.  We found that one of the largest Lavender Farms in the country, Red Rock Lavender is 30 miles from us.  We arranged to buy Lavender from them, and in the Summer of 2017 planted over 4000 plants in the shape of two mandalas. Once the plants are mature we plan to produce our own line of Lavender products.  Our goal of having guests camp on our Land is to share our ideas of sustainable living and the abundant natural resources on and around our property.  We hope you visit and share our vision.Learn more about this land:Tiny Town Arizona is a 100-acre sustainable glamping resort overlooking the White Mountains located 20 miles outside of Show Low, AZ.  Campsites are nestled among abundant Junipers and rolling grassy hills. This sacred land was also doused and cleansed by a Hopi trained healer to improve the flow of positive energy. Enjoying a leisurely walk around the property you will find a 7 chakra Lavender mandala. The mandala is planted with 6 rings of Grosso lavender around a center point to invoke balancing of the body’s chakras. Spend time exploring our permaculture farm and discover hidden treasures like an outdoor clawfoot tub, a community fire-pit and family oriented games.
