Bring your own firewood.
The McAllister cabin, at the mouth of Shoup Bay Marine State Park, is best accessed by kayak or boat. There is a narrow, tide dependent channel that leads to the inner lagoon where Moraine and Kittiwake cabins are located. Kayaks recommended for access.

Seaside Farm is a 30 acre, magical, park like farm on the shores of Kachemak Bay, just outside of Homer, a few miles down from the Kilcher Homestead where I grew up in the 1940's! . Now a song bird sanctuary, with trails, lawns, gardens, trees, hay fields, and a private beach, cabins, a clover camping meadow, Seaside was once part of an original Alaska pioneer homestead.
It is also the home of hundreds of songbirds, moose, coyotes, wild hares, flocks of sandhill cranes, two sweet Morgan Horses, an assortment of chickens and visitors seeking peace, nature, wildlife, pristine beaches, in a real Alaska, non touristy setting.
This property has three different types accommodations: Rustic, cozy cabins, a big field for tent campers, and a few spaces reserved for 4 wheel drive vans, and small vehicle camping, including rooftop tents
If you prefer camping away from the tourist crowds, you will find our soft clover meadows and well kept lawns, a deluxe and memorable experience. The beach is a short walk down the trail, where its peaceful and private, with only the sound of the seagulls and waves. Van campers have a few special areas to park their vehicles, with views of the glaciers and mountains. There is limited parking and turnaround space, and we like our farm not too crowded, to provide a special rural experience to all who visit. It helps to call or text before you arrive to make sure we are on site and can help you with parking!
There are three cabins sprinkled throughout the property. Two are off grid, close to the beach, private and magical, with wood stoves. All cabins are able to use the main farm lodge amenities, just a few minutes walk away but have their own outhouses, all with amazing views!
You can walk on the beach from the main lodge parking area, there is a covered camping pavilion available to all guests, a communal campfire spot and bbq grill, lovely maintained walking trails and meadows, and even wifi!
We allow most dogs, but ask you to contact us before booking with us, so we can let you know our rules before you travel. All dogs must be well behaved, social, on leashes and at owner's side at all times to protect our trusting wildlife from accidental harm, like our baby pheasants, moose, bunnies, and songbird nests!

Pinochle Trail goes north into the backcountry for around 12 miles and joins other trails.
Pinochle trail is a section of the ancient Knik - Nelchina Trail used by natives, trappers, miners and hunters for eons. It traverses the natural route from the Matanuska Valley up and over the mountain range into Copper River country.
Hicks was one of the early guides who had a cabin at Hicks Creek and served with U.S. Army Lieutenant Joseph Castner to brushwack a trail northwest for Captain Glenn in 1898. Described in his journal as at "Tale of Hardship and Suffering" they ended up eating their mules and shoes before reaching their goal far to the north. Today we use these trails with relative ease compared to the old timers but the scenery and mud holes remind us of what they went through.

The Trailer is a modern fifth-wheel camper that includes electricity, water, and an indoor restroom. We’ve provided all the necessities for you, including a stocked kitchen, bathroom essentials, and bedding for the queen bed (bedding for the sofa is also available upon request). The dinette table converts into a short bed—please remember to bring a sleeping bag for this setup!

This is a 10-acre property along the edge of the north bank of the Klutina River--a major king salmon-fishing stream that flows into the famous Copper River just one half mile downriver. That part of the property used for camping along the river is 3 acres.
This is a SEASONAL location: Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend with NEW LOWER prices. At this time only the riverside sites (south side of the river dike that one drives across) are available for camping or RV parking. We have no power or other hook-ups on the riverside except that water is available on site through a series of new DEC-approved pipe and spigets, along with more fire pits and more picnic tables.
Showers are extra @ $5.00 a person; Laundry tokens: $3.00 per washer load or 40 minute dryer load. Bar on site. Food service coming later THIS 2024 season. WIFI is only on the north side of the dike near any of the overnight rooms or the bar.
We recommend no RVs to exceed 28 feet on the river side of the dike. Very private sites and spread out--far more so than other nearby locations.
The public restroom is on the north side of the dike. AND we have several budget rooms available on the north side of the dike as well. In 2026, these start at $125/night. These all have Dish Net, WIFI, and coffee in the rooms. The bunkhouse, which can handle up to a dozen people, starts at $300/night for 4 persons.
This property is undergoing development. We are adding more picnic tables, burn sites, and water connections for safe camping.
Just to the east, across the Copper River, is the 12 million acre Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Our property is conveniently located in driving time almost exactly halfway between Anchorage and McCarthy-Kennecott. It is about 3 1/2 hours in either direction.
At the Klutina you can charter a sight-seeing river boat or you can white-water raft from a point several miles up a historic trail that follows the river to its source--Klutina Lake and Klutina Glacier. You can obtain a visitors' license and fish here for salmon. You can also hike along the dike or numerous trails in the area.

-Ride your ATV to Mcdonald's, Wal-Mart, or to a fancy dinner at Carinas Clock Tower? You can do that here! ATV's are legal to ride in all the cities locally. ATV's are welcome here and hundreds of miles of trails start right from the property.

Just 30 minutes away from the South Entrance to Denali National Park! This is one of the BEST private camping cabins on the Parks Highway! Strategically located on a secluded homestead from the 1960s, you'll be able to see Mount McKinley on a clear day! The nearby Summit Lake is perfect for fly fishing and local hiking trails are accessible right from the front door. We've got a couple kayaks for rent if you'd like to explore the local lake. Experience a TRUE Alaskan living experience in this DRY cabin with Modern touches. Since there's no interior running water or septic system, we encourage our guests to bring a couple gallons of water and some water bottles for drinking/washing hands. We do provide a camping toilet (5 gallon bucket with seat and trash bags) but you'll have to haul the bags out with you when you leave - along with your trash. Electricity is provided via a Generator that we provide - but you will be responsible for refilling the fuel you use (Vitus Gas station 5 minutes from the cabin). There is heat provided via a Fuel Oil stove. To save costs on cleaning fees - you'll be responsible to leave the cabin in as good - if not better condition than you find it when you arrive. We practice "Leave No Trace" principles. Since we don't charge a cleaning fee, you'll also need to bring your own bedding (recommend a sleeping bag) and linens/towels etc. If you're flying in to Anchorage we recommend you stop in at the local Walmart and buy a cheap sleeping bag to carry with you on your journey throughout the state. The cost of a cheap sleeping bag and/or linen set is less than a typical cleaning fee. Trust us, the extra work to enjoy this cabin is worth it! It has the most INCREDIBLE scenery! Bring some dry firewood for S'mores at the fire pit and enjoy an Alaskan experience at Denali's Doorstep!

This is a 10-acre property along the edge of the north bank of the Klutina River--a major king salmon-fishing stream that flows into the famous Copper River just one half mile downriver. That part of the property used for camping along the river is 3 acres.
This is a SEASONAL location: Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend with NEW LOWER prices. At this time only the riverside sites (south side of the river dike that one drives across) are available for camping or RV parking. We have no power or other hook-ups on the riverside except that water is available on site through a series of new DEC-approved pipe and spigets, along with more fire pits and more picnic tables.
Showers are extra @ $5.00 a person; Laundry tokens: $3.00 per washer load or 40 minute dryer load. Bar on site. Food service coming later THIS 2024 season. WIFI is only on the north side of the dike near any of the overnight rooms or the bar.
We recommend no RVs to exceed 28 feet on the river side of the dike. Very private sites and spread out--far more so than other nearby locations.
The public restroom is on the north side of the dike. AND we have several budget rooms available on the north side of the dike as well. In 2026, these start at $125/night. These all have Dish Net, WIFI, and coffee in the rooms. The bunkhouse, which can handle up to a dozen people, starts at $300/night for 4 persons.
This property is undergoing development. We are adding more picnic tables, burn sites, and water connections for safe camping.
Just to the east, across the Copper River, is the 12 million acre Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Our property is conveniently located in driving time almost exactly halfway between Anchorage and McCarthy-Kennecott. It is about 3 1/2 hours in either direction.
At the Klutina you can charter a sight-seeing river boat or you can white-water raft from a point several miles up a historic trail that follows the river to its source--Klutina Lake and Klutina Glacier. You can obtain a visitors' license and fish here for salmon. You can also hike along the dike or numerous trails in the area.

Boating and Swimming:
-All of the nearby lakes have public access and allow motor boats, jet skis, kayaks, rafts, and floating toys. Most are great for swimming on warm, sunny days.
Fishing:
-We have caught pike, whitefish, rainbows, and brown trout out of every single lake in the area, as well as salmon and trout from the Little Su river less than a mile away. There are so many lakes and streams nearby and they are all full of amazing fishing opportunities depending on the time of year.
ATV's, 4x4, and snowmobiles:
-Ride your ATV to Mcdonald's, Wal-Mart, or to a fancy dinner at Carinas Clock Tower? You can do that here! ATV's are legal to ride in all the cities locally. ATV's are welcome here and hundreds of miles of trails start right from the property.

Saturday and-Sunday only for rental only, possibly some Mondays. Theres a pathway down to get to the cabin but its a very short walk. Maybe 150 yards. Wonderful view of Kachemak Bay. sits on the bluff above the ocean its VERY steep and 700 or so feet to the bottom. There is an outhouse not too far from the cabin. But its dry cabin so bring your own drinking water, but there is electricity and I'll stock with paper utensils and plates. just text or call with any questions. (907)299-4629.

Just 30 minutes away from the South Entrance to Denali National Park! This is one of the BEST private camping cabins on the Parks Highway! Strategically located on a secluded homestead from the 1960s, you'll be able to see Mount McKinley on a clear day! The nearby Summit Lake is perfect for fly fishing and local hiking trails are accessible right from the front door. We've got a couple kayaks for rent if you'd like to explore the local lake. Experience a TRUE Alaskan living experience in this DRY cabin with Modern touches. Since there's no interior running water or septic system, we encourage our guests to bring a couple gallons of water and some water bottles for drinking/washing hands. We do provide a camping toilet (5 gallon bucket with seat and trash bags) but you'll have to haul the bags out with you when you leave - along with your trash. Electricity is provided via a Generator that we provide - but you will be responsible for refilling the fuel you use (Vitus Gas station 5 minutes from the cabin). There is heat provided via a Fuel Oil stove. To save costs on cleaning fees - you'll be responsible to leave the cabin in as good - if not better condition than you find it when you arrive. We practice "Leave No Trace" principles. Since we don't charge a cleaning fee, you'll also need to bring your own bedding (recommend a sleeping bag) and linens/towels etc. If you're flying in to Anchorage we recommend you stop in at the local Walmart and buy a cheap sleeping bag to carry with you on your journey throughout the state. The cost of a cheap sleeping bag and/or linen set is less than a typical cleaning fee. Trust us, the extra work to enjoy this cabin is worth it! It has the most INCREDIBLE scenery! Bring some dry firewood for S'mores at the fire pit and enjoy an Alaskan experience at Denali's Doorstep!

Baranof warm springs is a treat. It’s a special little boardwalk escape. The falls are loud and powerful. The natural springs are stunning and all the visitors we interacted with were lovely. We want to come back again. The cabin was the perfect little spot to relax, read a book, have coffee and enjoy.

It was great staying at Wildthingz. Emily was responsive and we loved going up to meet the dogs!
The bed was super comfy and the heater kept us more than warm at night. It was nice to be able to make coffee and tea in the morning and have sugar there!
Would definitely recommend and will be back if we're in Denali again!

Tough to give the description as needed without pictures and the feel of a fresh warm breeze coupled with the constant sound of one of the most impressive water falls in SE AK.. The cabin is small but efficient. Easily accessible from the float dock. The hot springs surpassed our expectations and were the best we have experienced in SE and we have enjoyed most all of them!

Our stay at Moose Lodge Cabins was even better than we expected. The cabin was extremely comfortable, well-equipped with everything we needed, and even a few thoughtful extras we didn’t realize we’d want. The location is convenient to Seward yet tucked away in a quiet, peaceful setting. We highly recommend Moose Lodge Cabins and would gladly stay here again.

Brendan’s place is absolutely wonderful. I loved being able to walk to the springs then come back to the cabin and start a cozy fire on the wood stove. I felt very much at peace and at home here. He has a great little selection of books in the cabin, and a nice spot on the deck that overlooks the harbor. I didn’t want to leave and hope to be back again. Thank you Brendan!

I absolutely loved it here! Thank you Brendan for listing your cabin on hipcamp. The Dasha cabin is in a perfect location for a visit to the springs - you can easily walk to the tubs or springs from the connected boardwalk. I really enjoyed soaking in the tub then coming “home” to a warm fire. The cabin smelled like cedar, something that brings a smile to my face. The outdoor deck was perfect for watching the sunset, or coffee in the morning. I enjoyed reading his books, especially the Alaska Bird book, apparently I’m a plover sandpiper that “runs short distances then stops” at least that’s the page I opened up to. Really peaceful gem of a cabin. I highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Valdez Adventure Alliance
Moraine cabin is beautiful! They had recently done trail maintenance which cleared the view of Shoup Glacier. The cabin and outhouse were clean. The heater was not needed in July. I recommend paddling to the cabin so you can then kayak or canoe out to the glacier. We paddled out early one morning and were able to see seals!

We loved the cozy cabin, the wood fired cook stove, the beautiful river right next to it, and all of the very helpful kind staff, would stay there again and again if we could! Sauna was an especially nice feature after rafting six mile river. No running water or working stove other than wood fired one, be ready to go back in time a bit, but everything you need is just over the bridge at the main cafe building
