300 acres of family land since 2000. This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite!

We recently added an outdoor building with washer and dryer, bathroom/changing room, outdoor shower AND a hot tub that overlooks the lake. There is a public boat launch just down the road along with lakefront restaurants and boat rental establishments nearby. There are multiple convenient stores, grocery stores, a Dollar General and even a hardware store just down the road.

I absolutely loved our stay at Sarana. The hosts were so kind and generous, and they even let us stay in their RV when there was a thunderstorm one night. They have lots of equipment available, including a heater, fridge, fan, propane grill, and extension cables for use, as well as a fire pit. They have an extensive network of trails on the property, as well as lake access for swimming or hanging out. Sipsey wilderness and Bankhead National Forest are about 30-45 minutes away, so we had easy access to hiking and recreation activities when we weren't hanging out on the property. We loved our stay, and plan on coming back. If you are in the area and interested in meeting some of the loveliest hosts, you should definitely camp at Sarana!

Our dome was great! My daughter and dog both loved the little hiking trail near the creek, and the setting was perfect. The view from our dome was beautiful, and we’re looking forward to visiting again in warmer weather to enjoy some creek play. Kara and John were kind and welcoming and they have clearly put thought and love into the whole place.

Got to take advantage of a couple unseasonably warm Feb days so I headed up to Bug Tussell. What a great camp spot. Loved the drive down the gravel road. The side of the mountain was cool and saw a nice size buck. Then driving thru hay fields was fun. The hay field was wonderful to just go find a cleared spot and look up at the sky.
Even in the dead of winter, the trees & creek were beautiful.
Looking forward to booking in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

I really enjoyed this campsite. The drive in was very straightforward (especially if you watch the YouTube video). The creek was low since we haven't had any rain lately. It was extremely private- some occasional far off car noise and dogs barking but otherwise a wonderful spot in the woods. Plenty of room for multiple tents or vehicles. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Chris’s land was very secluded but easily accessible. We really enjoyed our two night stay. Very close to Dismal Canyons and a few miles from town in case you need anything. I would suggest taking water for drinking/cleaning up. I would definitely recommend and I am planning another trip soon.

Kara was an amazing host. It was my wife and I's first time glamping. Our 2 dogs enjoyed it a lot as well. The little one wouldn't calm down until I took her to the creek. We'll definitely be visiting again in the future.

This camping experience was unlike any other! Kara and her team have done such a beautiful job creating a space that exudes tranquility and ease. The dome itself is amazing, truly set up with everything you need - bed, tables, power bank (more than ample, we charged things the whole 2.5 day trip and only use 50%), games, blackstone (CLUTCH - grill tools provided, just bring food), lamp, drip coffee maker (not k cup), climate control options (ac fan, top exhaust fan, heater, we were very comfortable in the 40°-70° temp ranges). And don’t even get me started on how wonderful the hot shower is! Toilet is easy to use, nice privacy, and there’s a hand sink!! Our site had a wonderful view of the creek, which we did venture down to in the afternoon - lots of rocks, bring solid water shoes! The space is lit up nicely at night time with the solar lights. The only “downside” if there is one is the hill we had to traverse to unload and load the car, but with some ingenuity and leg power, not too bad. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hidden gem, and suspect Kara will be fully booked up in no time! Get it if you can 👍👍

What a magical vacation! If you’re looking for a truly unique glamping experience this is the place! The geodome was so clean and tidy. It had everything we needed plus a nice hot shower.
You truly cant beat a campfire overlooking a beautiful creek! Don’t forget to checkout the lit up trail to have an adventure under the stars. Kara was a kind and excellent host that made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely be coming back!

One of the best campsites my husband and I have stayed at for sure! Absolutely beautiful and private, and we’d defiantly stay there again. We did get flooded out though so if you are staying during the rainy season I’d keep an eye on the creek but other than that it was the perfect site.

Super fun spot to camp, extremely private & tucked away. Be mindful of your tent placement if rain is in the forecast as half the campsite floods 2-3” of water (found out the hard way!) haha! Makes for a better story later on. The creek is amazing & the drive down into the site is so fun.

Chris is an excellent host, great communication, friendly, and dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. We primitive camped on the side of a vally that was beautiful. It had a nice clean stream for water, a level area for our tent, a fire pit, and the mountain laurel was in bloom. We saw deer and there are even glow worms on the property, close to tent site two where we stayed. The trails and sites were marked well. A big thank you to Chris and his family for an enjoyable camp. God bless.
