We currently have primitive tent camping that can easily fit 4-5 tents or hammock camping.
Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding.
The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property.
This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited.
So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild.
The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful.

There are so many little towns near by. Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak/canoe (coosariveradventures.com), launch your boat or fish year round at Gold State Park which also has a fantastic play area for kids with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill.
We are 9 miles from Lake Jordan and 11 miles from Lake Martin.
Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 25 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails.

Just 15 minutes east of us is Swayback Bridge https://www.riverregionmtb.org/swayback-bridge-trail. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and goes over Lake Jordan.
Wind Creek Casino Wetumpka is 10 miles and Montgomery location is only 16 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming.
We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise

It was very peaceful and quiet. Although the drive up was a little treacherous, once we were there, it was amazing. The bathrooms and showers were clean. Leigh met us at the house and explained the property and took us to our site. We have a 30ft class c motorhome. The spots are roomy, include electricity and water, a fire pit and picnic table. We took a short hike to the waterfall and enjoyed the quiet.

This campsite is truly a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how clean, well-kept, and scenic everything was. The site are spacious with plenty of shade, and the natural surroundings are breathtaking — a mix of tall trees and a peaceful water view that makes you instantly relax.
The amenities were excellent —convenient hookups, a picnic table and fire pit. We loved how quiet it was at night; you could hear the crickets and the crackle of the fire instead of traffic or noise. Brian was so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. You can really tell he cares about keeping the place beautiful and family-friendly. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. Highly recommend to anyone who loves camping, nature, and a little peace of mind.

Great spot with full hookups. As a solo female traveling with dogs I felt safe. Well located, Walmart is close by and Birmingham is about 25 miles away. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Great communication from both of them. Would definitely stay again if back in the area.

We had a great time caping at Bohamia! It was very private and there were so many areas to explore. The bathroom facilities were always clean. We stayed in RV 5 which is PERFECT central location for a large group to gather. Some family members stayed in the glamping tents and they were amazing and well stocked. The pond area is beautiful and the self serve use of boats and floats were a nice touch. Great family trip and we would definitely return!

This hipcamp was by far our favorite! The site was gorgeous and so was the property. We loved exploring the hiking trails and visiting the river. There was a great little pond to swim in and canoe around! The owner was really responsive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend coming here and we will be back!

My wife and I are so happy we found this little gem in Alabama. This was our first Hipcamp experience and didn’t know what to expect! Our intention was only to spend the night and leave the next day as we made our way south however, once we got up in the morning to walk our pups, and got a chance to see the property, we were thoroughly surprised by what we found! Bohamia is a beautiful, peaceful, and well organized operation. We were fortunate to meet Leigh, one of the owners. She was so friendly and nice!! She gave us lots of information so we can become Hipcamp hosts as well. The property offers so many amenities including a magical waterfall and swimming pond, hiking and biking trails! We were able to spend the entire day hiking and swimming with the pond all to ourselves! We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. We will definitely make this a destination for future camping trips with friends and family. Thank you Bohamia!
