Beautiful tall pines enclose this beautiful site in front of an old public cemetery plot that's rarely visited but has a pathway through the woods for exploring, a circle path we named Panther Path will lead you right back to camp. (The name Panther Path has a story. Basically keep an eye out for black panthers in these parts.) We have two dogs, Boogie - a male and a very large dog, LGD - Livestock Guardian Dog, her name is Maple. Both dogs are very nice and kind. Maple's job is to protect our ducks and chickens from predators. She will bark but she will not hurt you. She will especially love you if you have treats or say 'Hello, Maple!" We will try to have her put away before bookings if enough notice is given. She will not hurt a human, she knows her job and duty on our homestead but she can be nosy as she runs the perimeter of our property often. Bate Farm is the best tent camping I have found in North Alabama. The hosts are extremely accommodating and helpful. Great for families that want a quiet get away or anyone that just wants a great camping experience. Each campsite is laid out perfectly so you have your privacy. We were so pleased with our stay that this is our new “go to” place for camping and we’ll definitely continue to frequent Bates Farm.

I loved camping on the Bate's Farm. Wayne was a great host. The facility had a great balance of rustic nature and modern amenities. The land was peaceful and natural. Each site was private and included a fire pit, picnic table, and trash bin. Free showers, laundry, and a playground were also available.

Absolutely loved it here and wish we could have stayed longer. We did tent camping and it was so peaceful and beautiful, many sites to camp and private. Just behind the tent sites was a wonderfully maintained RV park with very clean bath houses, pools, and play areas for kids. We came up for 1 night as a couple and want to come back soon for 2 nights with our kids, one of the nicest spots we’ve found to camp.

We had the best time here! 🌄 Shay and Ken were so welcoming, and my kids had a blast hanging out with their kids — it felt like one big family. Waking up to the rooster crowing was such a cool experience, and my boys loved exploring (so much to see, especially up at the top of the property 👀). We got to feed the ducks, chickens, and goats — and omg, the tacos… totally made the night 🌮💯 Also at the top of the property is more 🪦graves which made this “spooky” trip awesome for our little ones! Graves dated back to the 1800’s!! We had such an amazing experience! Def. Will be back! 🫶

Weekend Trip to Bates Farm

The ride to our camp site was amazingly beautiful down a trail. Once we got to our campsite it was beautiful open grassy area woodsy trails open nature pluse stargazing. Each campsite sets far back from each other for more privacy. This is true nature camping experience we loved it. Our host was very helpful and we will certainly come back. It's going to be gorgeous when the leaves start changing.

Weekend Trip to Bates Farm

I loved camping here at Bates Farm! It was a very peaceful and spacious primitive site where you can really feel more immersed in nature. Mary and her husband were very hospitable and made sure to alert us whenever archers were on the range. I will definitely love to come back to participate in the 3D archery here in the future. Highly recommended, it was a cool experience.

Weekend Trip to Serene Lakefront Retreat

This RV community was beautiful. There are many sites along the lake with picturesque views. There are plenty of activities on the grounds and the staff could not have been more friendly. I highly recommend staying here!
