Considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state, bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Listen to Pipwild Spring trickling over the mossy rock waterfall. Our 10x12 foot canvas safari tent offers a cozy 120 sq ft of space which can accommodate a twin size mattress in addition to the provided queen bed.

Folklore Forest is on 3 acres and has 270 feet of River Frontage at your disposal. Little River is considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state. Bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Sit on the rocks at the base of the waterfall under the rhododendrons and holly trees, and wade in the water in the warm months.
Park on the side of the road in front of the Cynefin sign. There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a that you can use to bring your luggage down.
Other things to note
• The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels.
• This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. We recommend bringing a portable battery pack to charge devices.
• Please be respectful of any wildlife (there are white tail deer, raccoons, weasels, harmless black snakes, mink, foxes, coyotes, many birds, and the extremely, and we do mean extremely, rare black bear), while fishing in the little river is allowed, hunting is prohibited.

Our cabin is tucked away on a private road bordering the Chief Ladiga Bike Path and Big & Little Terrapin Creek. It sits adjacent to the Talladega National Forest and is within walking distance of the Pinhoti Hiking Trail. We also have private hiking trails throughout the property.
The twin beds are located in the loft of the cabin, and there is a couch in the living room.
This is the perfect quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cabin is about 15 minutes from downtown Piedmont, which has multiple coffee shops, restaurants, fast food, grocery stores, and antique shops.
We provide a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, oven with stovetop, dishwasher, and kitchenware to make your stay comfortable.
You will be blown away by the mountain and creek views. A hiking path leads up to an overlook with a swing — the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sunrise. We are 15–20 minutes from Indian Mountain ATV Park (with space to park your trailer) and less than a two-hour drive to Birmingham, Chattanooga, and Atlanta.
Visit Gadsden (~35 minutes) to explore Noccalula Falls Park, especially beautiful with Christmas lights, or Fort Payne (~an hour) to explore Little River Canyon and Desoto Falls.

It is located eight miles north of the small town of Heflin, Alabama, which is about an hour and a half from the metro areas of Birmingham, Alabama, and Atlanta, Georgia.
Off a small county road, a private half-mile gravel road leads to the property’s end. The cabin is surrounded by hundreds of square miles of forest. To the west, directly behind the cabin, there are over nine miles of continuous forest before reaching a hard-top road, and beyond that, over six miles to the next road. To the north, there are over sixty miles of continuous forest to the next road. Pinhoti Trailheads are nearby.
The ten acres is mostly forested, and all surrounding properties are similarly wooded. The back side of the property is bordered by a year-round creek. There are two open meadows, one of which is a pawpaw orchard.
Trails and a covered pavilion are located down by the creek. In season, you can enjoy blueberries, blackberries, and muscadines. Because the property is so remote—and because the surrounding areas adhere to International Dark Sky standards—you can enjoy spectacular stargazing on clear nights.

Weekend Trip to Coldwater Camp & Cabins
The cabins are extremely clean, have comfortable beds and even have Keurig coffee makers to help with your early morning rides. Bathrooms are also very clean and a 20 second walk from camp. The owner is very knowledgeable on the trail system, and was happy to share his favorite trails.

Weekend Trip to Hardwoods Campground
This was my first time at a campground as unique and freeing as hardwood camp. I enjoyed every aspect of my weekend from the outdoor shower, to the lit walking trails. It's a one of a kind experience that you can absolutely see the attention to detail that Jeremy put into this place.

Excellent time at Serenity Escape Treehouse. We had time to hike the landscape at the treehouse, Little River Canyon, and Desoto State Park. We enjoyed time making smores, eating at The Hatter, and checking out the waterfalls and surrounding areas. The tree house was clean, accommodating for our family and pets, and had some warm little perks! Excellent stay!

I truly enjoyed my stay! Everything was clean and additional supplies were available (cooking utensils, lanterns, etc). The area was quiet. I really enjoyed the creek, which was a very short distance from the tent. I would stay there again.

It was a great stay!! Everything is newly build and right off the trail and has a bath house that’s very well built. The cabin is very cozy as well and would recommend it to anyone!

Group trip
The stay at the Treehouse was perfect. More than enough room for the (4) of us. The host had everything we needed and more. Super convenient to both parks we wanted to hike. You hear the roosters all hours of the day but we enjoyed it. If we’re ever in Northern Alabama again, we’d come back.

Weekend Trip to The Cynefin Luxury Safari Tent
This was mine and my husbands first time glamping. It was awesome. Right next to the creek, fire out, hammock, cooking utensils and pans. There was a nice spot next to the creek to sit. We brought our dog and had a great time. You have quite a bit of privacy with only one home directly next to you. The 2 heaters (1 wood, 1 gas) was a perfect edition for the winter. Thomas came and brought us another propane tank when we needed it and made our sleeping comfy. If you like the outdoors with a little more comfort, especially in the winter, this is the place to go. They also have WiFi, we didn’t use it much but it had good service. The tent felt like one from Harry Potter. Great trip.
