Le site est réservé pour une intimité totale, une seule réservation de groupe à la fois, vous disposez donc de votre propre espace privé dans les bois. Il y a une cheminée dans la cabane avec beaucoup de bois. Le sol est principalement constitué de tremplins naturels, cueillis à la main dans les bois. La cabane est nichée dans une forêt magique de mousse et de fougères avec des lucioles, des hiboux, des cerfs et des renards. Il y a des sentiers de randonnée paisibles et entretenus. Un foyer extérieur de cuisine en forme de sphère sous des lampes solaires lucioles ajoute à l’expérience magique. Il existe de merveilleuses activités telles que la pêche, le kayak (Safari Kayak) et les pistes cyclables dans la région. Remontez le temps et découvrez la rare sagesse des érables à sucre mesurant plus de 150 pieds de haut. Cabine Luciole is a heritage Sugar Maple Cabin built in the late 1800's. It is located in an mossy, old growth maple forest with towering majestic maple trees. It is built on a leyline by Irish (Erin) settlers, giving it powerful energy to rejuvinate. You can also walk the cretan labyrinth, to bring balance.
catherdral tin roof cabin has enough space for dinning, entertaining and yoga, it also has a sleeping loft for 2 people, and can be used as a reading nook, bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels and you are welcome to set up a tent on the outdoor camping site. There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The site is booked for complete privacy, only one group booking at a time, so you have your own private spot in the woods. There is a fireplace in the cabin with plenty of wood. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are groomed peaceful walking trails. A sphere shaped cooking outdoor fireplace under firefly solar lights adds to the magical experience. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. Go back in time and experience the rare wisdom of the sugar maple trees that are over 150 feet tall. You will never want to leave, come back and see the trees colourful splendor in the fall and in early spring we plan to have hands on maple syrup making.

The Domaine de la Templerie is first and foremost a Table champêtre (farm to table). To have a rustic table, a good majority of the products served in the restaurant must come from the farm. This is why you will find on site a farm with wild boars, geese, ducks, guinea fowl, pheasants, capons, turkeys and many other animals! ACCÈS À LA RIVIÈRE ET AU LAC
La yourte se situe au bord de la rivière. Vous aurez un accès exclusif à la berge et ses installations (rond de feu, table à pique-nique, tipi suspendu, hamacs). L'eau coule à travers les rochers. La rivière est plus creuse à certains endroits. L'été, on peut s'y immerger complètement et nager (baignade non surveillée).
Le lac Chantelle lac se trouve à une quinzaine de minutes de marche, à l'extérieur du site. On y accède par une petite plage gazonnée partagée avec les résidents du lac.

Tout au long de votre séjour, nous vous invitons à faire le tri de vos déchets: les matières recyclables dans le bac de recyclage à l'intérieur de la yourte, les matières compostables dans le bac à compost à quelques pas à l'extérieur de la yourte.

L’arrivée se fait de façon autonome. L’emplacement des clés vous sera communiqué la veille de votre séjour.
L’arrivée est possible dès 16h et le départ au plus tard à 14h.
PARKING ET TRAJET JUSQU’À LA YOURTE
Le stationnement est gratuit. Il y a 10 minutes de marche entre le stationnement et la yourte, le long d’un sentier pédestre. Deux brouettes sont disponibles sur place en été, et un traineau en hiver. Vous les trouverez dans le stationnement.

The Torrent yurt offers a view of a cascading river. It is a cozy cocoon nestled in the heart of the forest. Enjoy your morning coffee by the fire, go for an afternoon canoe ride on Lake Chantelle, and gaze at the stars through the glass dome in the evening before drifting off to sleep to the soothing sound of the river.

ACCESS TO THE RIVER AND LAKE
The yurt is located right by the river. You will have exclusive access to the riverbank and its amenities (fire pit, picnic table, hanging tipi, and hammocks). The water flows over rocky terrain, with deeper sections in certain areas. In summer, you can fully immerse yourself and swim (unsupervised swimming).

At Refuges Le Torrent, we are committed to minimizing the ecological impact of human presence in the forest. Throughout your stay, we ask that you sort your waste: place recyclables in the bin inside the yurt and compostables in the compost bin located just a few steps outside.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Check-in is self-service. You will receive information regarding key access the day before your stay.
Check-in is available from 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 2:00 PM at the latest.
PARKING AND WALK TO THE YURT
Parking is free. It is a 10-minute walk from the parking area to the yurt along a footpath. Two wheelbarrows are available on-site in summer, and a sled in winter; you will find them in the parking area.

Weekend Trip to Tamarak Grove
Tamara’s Grove is even cuter in person! What a lovely, cozy, charming, and clean RV! And the property seems straight out of a fairytale! Ideal for couples or anyone who wants to escape the frantic and sometimes overwhelming energy of the city. Bren and Lisa were absolutely wonderful and delightful—very attentive to our needs. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. Thank you again, and we hope to see you soon!

Very beautiful place!! So happy to have found it. The pull through site is very large and very easy to pull right in. Has a really nice little private deck right by the water to sit on. Hammocks all over, nice adirondack chairs everywhere.
Theres a really nice common area with a mosquito tent with a table inside, a bbq and beach area! Nice place to swim. Brien is a fantastic host. Super friendly. Very responsive and accommodating.
We will definitely go back!

Beautiful place with very cozy surroundings. The campsite is close to the house, so it isn’t completely private, but the welcoming host and peaceful setting made the stay very enjoyable. I stayed for one night and had a great time. Merci.

4 nights at Refuges Le Torrent
To say that this place is special would not be enough to capture the care, tranquility and respect for nature at MJ’s yurt space. We felt as though we slept in a treehouse. The outdoor shower, access to beautiful river swims, the attention to detail make this a remarkable getaway spot for a couple or friends. The hike in does require sturdy shoes and sensible bags, but once there, you will never want to leave. The bed is comfy, the stove and electric cooler and well appointed kitchenette (plus BBQ) allow for easy meal preparation. We feel so restored and cannot wait to return. Merci, MJ!

Formidable weekend. Sans voisin immédiat et avec une belle vue sur la forêt et la nature. Nous avons pu faire un feu et être tranquille pour un long souper qui se termine tard. J’y retournerai et je le recommande. Parc de la Yamaska tout près pour plein d’activités en journée.

Where to go
The Eastern Townships
Lying southeast of Montreal, the Eastern Townships may just be one of the prettiest parts of Canada. Dozens of small towns dot the lakeshores and offer mountain views. Hiking, biking, and even canoeing routes connect many of the communities, and outdoor adventurers can easily refuel at maple sugar shacks, cheese producers, farmers markets, and vineyards.
Oka
Just an hour from Montreal, Oka is home to a beautiful provincial park, one of the best beaches in southern Quebec, and its delicious namesake Oka cheese. At Oka National Park, visitors have ample camping options alongside the Lake of Two Mountains. There are additional ready-to-camp tents (perfect for early and late season stays, as they contain a space heater), plus watersports and children’s programming. White-tailed deer, beavers, muskrats, turtles, and mink are frequently spotted and the list of local birds exceeds 200 species.
The Laurentian Mountains
A popular skiing destination, the Laurentian Mountains have year-round camping options for everyone from beginners to experienced trekkers. Visitors can find a mix of tent-sites, cabins, and RV spots, many of which offer easy access to the slopes in winter. Traditional tent and RV spots with laundry and showers abound.
When to go
Camping is at its most comfortable between June and September, when evenings are mild. However, make reservations well in advance for Canada Day weekend and Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (celebrated across Quebec on June 24). The Eastern Townships and the Laurentian Mountains offer some of the finest fall colours in Quebec but they’ll be busy with weekend day trippers come mid-October.
Know before you go
- MEC Montreal sells everything an outdoor adventurer could need, from stoves and freeze-dried foods to mountain bikes.
- There are a dozen farmers markets in Montreal and many more in the surrounding area. Pick up local bagels, which are denser and sweeter than their New York-style counterparts.
- Coyotes call southern Quebec home and they even occasionally venture into Montreal. Never feed them and secure your food at night.
