Our own private residence is a separate apartment upstairs, there are no shared walls or internal stairs and you will have your own private entrance, however as it is a large, old wooden house you may at times hear us moving about upstairs, naturally we try to be as quiet as possible when we have guests visiting. We will leave you entirely to yourselves but if you do need any help or information or even a little guided walking tour of the locality we are very happy to accommodate you. Our sauna deck is a shared area which guests are welcome to use, heating the sauna takes an hour or two, so just let us know and we will get it all ready for you with fresh towels, scented oils and branches of freshly cut lavender or wormwood to create a beautiful ambience.

The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. We will leave you entirely to yourselves but if you do need any help or information or even a little guided walking tour of the locality we are very happy to accommodate you. Our sauna deck is a shared area which guests are welcome to use, heating the sauna takes an hour or two, so just let us know and we will get it all ready for you with fresh towels, scented oils and branches of freshly cut lavender or wormwood to create a beautiful ambience.

Lovely shack creatively situated on a rocky outcrop beside the McDonald river.
It has all the charm of a yesteryear hideaway. It’s an experience not a polished hotel, think secret mountain recluse, take your book, your art stuff and a bottle of wine.

Great place! Just a few minutes from the Blue Mountains. We chose this spot because we spent the morning exploring and wanted somewhere close to relax, watch the sunset, and unwind and it was perfect. We absolutely loved it.
What I liked the most was the amount of space. The sites are very well spaced out, so you really get privacy. Each site has its own fire pit, and the hosts provide firewood, with the option to buy it from them or collect it yourself, which we thought was a fun little adventure.
They also have the most beautiful and friendly dogs! Michelle was incredibly attentive and welcoming, never rushed us with timing, and we were lucky enough to try her homemade garlic scones and garlic jam from the farm, they were absolutely delicious.
Even though the bathrooms are composting toilets (with sawdust), they were spotless and honestly felt hotel-level, with neatly folded towels and thoughtful amenities.
Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again!

We loved our stay at KCC. Really clean toilets and showers, and actually a lot of powered sites.
It was an easy walk to the (very touristed) Scenic World. We just continued our walk to the Three Sisters Lookout, which was great in the late afternoon.
We could easily stayed for a night out two longer, if it would have been possible.

Spent 2 nights tent camping at Michelle’s garlic farm, and had a wonderful time! Views were indeed stunning, and we really enjoyed having their 2 roving pups come round for a scratch and ball throw every now and then. The smell of garlic in the air in certain parts of the farm also tickled us very much! During sunset, kangaroos sometimes bound through the brush and can be seen from the campsite.
Michelle and her partner are lovely and very helpful for any needs that might arise, we had a lovely chat with them and had a little impromptu tour of their garlic farm. Would absolutely recommend coming here for a little getaway.

Our stay at Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was amazing. We turned up after a full day of adventuring and it was the perfect spot to just relax and take in the view.
Michelle was such a generous host and made us feel really welcome. Even though there were other campers on the property, everyone had plenty of their own space and kept to themselves, so it still felt nice and private. The toilets were also great and kept really clean.
If you’re into garlic, you have to stay here. Michelle let us try some from the farm and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. It tastes so real and raw compared to what you get at the shops.
We’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and would love to come back again.

The campsite is well located for visiting the main attractions in the area. It is very quiet, and there are many electricity hook-ups and water points available throughout the site. The showers are also very good, with consistently hot water.
One drawback is that not all areas of the campsite are level. If you do not arrive early, finding a suitable pitch can be difficult. From around 4 - 5 p.m. onwards, it usually becomes harder to choose a spot that fits your needs.
Overall, it is a calm campsite with convenient access to key places of interest, though arriving early is recommended to secure an appropriate pitch.
