The trailhead here leads to Trail 95, a 6.3-mile moderate hike through the forest. This leads to Trail 399, a 10.2-mile difficult hike with significant elevation gain, and stunning views. The trails lead to the Mallard Larkins Pioneer Area. Stop at the Mallard Peak historic lookout for a great photo opportunities!

Location, location, location best describes our beautiful 3.3 acres of privately owned land with a mix of meadows and trees with additional upper-level sites as well. Cyclists, SXS'ers or bikers can take off right from the front gate to The Center of the Universe (downtown Wallace less than a mile away) or out to the open trails surrounding Wallace in all its glory. WHAT WE OFFER: 3.3 acres of mostly flat grassy meadow, trees, as well as a gravel/rocky, still-being-developed area; Lou's Happy Crapper containing 2 private toilets, 2 private bath/showers, and one sink; (As of mid-October the water system will be winterized, therefore no water, bath house or toilet facilities will be available, self-contained campers only until spring when weather permits) a central covered fire pit area, and all of it totally fenced. WHAT WE DON'T OFFER: private firepits, power, sewer or water hookups. WHAT WE KINDLY ASK: Please adhere to pack it in-pack it out practices (Please take all garbage with you when you leave). Leave the restroom area clean after use, including wiping down showers, and keeping toilets clean. Toilet paper and cleaning supplies are provided (any donations to the supplies or firewood is greatly appreciated and follows our "pay-it-forward" philosophy.) At this time, we do not have labeled sites and ask that we all respect the desire to have space between visitors. We have not determined a maximum capacity as of yet, but our desire is to keep it small so everyone can experience the peace and tranquility of the open wilderness. We are pet friendly and ask that you act responsibly and clean up after your pet as well as keep on a leash if they possibly will act out. Please keep gates closed at all times. You can get out and mountain bike, go 4 wheeling or go hiking and enjoy the national forest. There is also fishing and hunting just right out my back door. Turkey hunting is available 6 months of the year, Elk and Deer hunting begins in the Fall.

Primitive camping with no water or trash service, pack in / pack out. There is a portable toilet. Note, work has begun on the nearby highway bridge. Located in the Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork River, this is a premier location for the whitewater enthusiast. Take advantage of the class II, III rapids in your kayak or raft, or even surf. Alternatively, enjoy the relaxing Sandy Beach just a few minutes walk from the campground to swim and gaze at the beautiful argilite cliffs. The campground is near both the Interstate and a railroad so there is some ambient noise. Note: we have cameras on the surf shack (container) that can see the entrance and the portable toilet area. We live on 48 acres out in the country, but we are only 12–15 minutes from the town of Orofino. We have five beautiful sleeper cabins (with TVs and mini splits), and a bathroom/shower house located 10–20 feet from the cabins. There is also a game area with horseshoes and an archery lane, as well as a timber-framed gazebo for gathering and relaxing. The cabins sit on approximately 4–5 acres of the property. We use these cabins for about nine months out of the year, so they are only available during the summer months of June, July, and August. So welcome to your stay—we’re glad you’re here. Each cabin offers a comfortable space to rest, while the shared outdoor areas give you room to gather, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. This is a place where the sunrises and sunsets are incredible, the air feels different, and the pace naturally slows down. It’s common to see wildlife throughout the property—deer, elk, and wild turkeys often pass through, especially in the early morning and evening. Keep an eye out and take it all in—it’s part of what makes this place special. Whether you’re here to explore, fish, unwind, or spend time with your group, we hope you enjoy the space, the land, and the experience. We currently have limited photos of the cabins due to weather conditions, but more will be updated in May. We are on 20 acres and have developed ¾ acre for camping. Badger drive is just off a well-maintained gravel county road. We are less than 15 minutes from St Maries, where you will find dump sites and water refill stations. In St Maries you can find easy access to the St Joe and St Maries rivers. 9 miles west of St Maries is Heyburn Park where you will find multiple hiking trails, access to Chatcolet Lake (which is at the south end of the Coeur ‘d Alene Lake system). Outdoor recreation options are limitless in this area. Coeur ‘d Alene is an hour and a half north from our property and Moscow is and hour and a half SW of our property. We are 2 miles from State land and a 25-minute ride on an ATV to the St Maries River. The area is abundant in wildlife: elk, deer, coyotes, cougars, moose, rabbits, grouse, badgers and more. There is access from our property to state land for hiking and hunting. There are 3 RV sites tucked into the trees, a large open tent site and a second tent site that is in the trees. There is a pull around drive to access the sites with a large, shared grass area in the center. Things are still in development so currently it is dry camping only. There are water spigots at each site but only for fire suppression if needed as water is not potable. RV sites are graveled with plenty of room to park We allow animals but only if they are kept on a leash or in your RV. Our home is close to the campground, and we are usually around somewhere if you have questions or need help with something.
