A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle. We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want than this may not be your kind of place.

World class deep sea fishing, boating, and some of the finest seafood restaurants on the east coast are less a mile away. We’re just 5 miles from downtown Stuart on the Inland waterway that offers a lovely walkable downtown where you will find a theater, unique art studios, interesting and unique craft and clothing shops, and numerous restaurants offering everything from vegan and vegetarian options, to pizza, steak, and local seafood. Our camp sites provide a peaceful stay while still being close to all you seek. This location makes for a great stop over or destination spot. Guests will wake in the morning to the lovely site and peaceful sounds of the mostly year round residents including pileated and red-bellied woodpeckers, vultures, raccoons, egrets, ibis, hawks, quaker parrots, herons, bluejays, grackles, crows, lizards, mourning doves, gray squirrels, owls, hawks, and occasional sightings of iguanas and turtles. Nights tend to be dark and quiet with minimal traffic noise. We are pet friendly provided your pet is too! Again, this is in a quiet, neighborhood type setting, just a bit off the beaten path. You can see how the old orange groves worked as we haven't filled in all the furrows yet. The old orange Grove is now home to cattle, horses, goats, ducks, and our little family. The only sounds you'll hear are cows mooing, goats baaing, and horses neighing. Sunsets and the stars are a site to see out here. THE PROPERTY: The owners live on the property with their 2 children and are willing to be helpful in anyway. Children are more than welcome to tag along. Being kid friendly is a plus for us as our kids might be running around enjoying their property. Can't forget dog friendly either. Our dogs love to greet our guests. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: If beaches are on your agenda, South Causeway and Fort Pierce Inlet State Park are only 25 minutes from the beach! Our favorite place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner is Carter's Grocery, which is only 4 minutes from our property. ACTIVITIES: We have chickens that lay eggs and are great for eating so if you'd like some fresh eggs, feel free to go over to their house and grab some. We have a Pavillion with a fire pit that is welcomed to be used. Our dock provides a look out on our pond. Please feed the fish some food if you'd like. Also, take time to fish in our pond and catch some tilapia or blue gill. The kids have a blast fishing as the fish are easy to catch. THE SPACE: The site you'll be staying at is close to the owners house. There are 2 parking spots on asphalt that are available for the campers vehicles or park directly at your site. The ground will be grass that the camper will park on. Please note: we have 2 gates with gate codes that shut automatically. Please be sure each gate closes behind you! We have free roaming cattle and other farm animals outside the camping area. We are always open to recommendations on how we can make your stay even better! We cant wait to share our property with you and hopefully you'll find our place as somewhere you'd love to return!

The 50 amp RV outlets and city water hookups are at each site for convenience, with 30 amp adaptors available if needed. Nice but the other campground in the park is better. Quiet even though it is closer to the road. Avoid the handicap sites because people will walk through your site even though a sidewalk is provided.

I love this Campground! I live in Vero Beach so this is one I frequent. There is amazing kayaking down the Loxahatchee river, and you can drop off a couple hours up river, and end up right at your campground. The wild life here is bountiful, I have seen Bald Eagles with eaglets, Alligators, Manatee and Otters. The racoons will pillage your site if you aren't careful. I know they recently renovated the River Campground and I am looking forward to seeing that this year.
