Love the little A frame, it's perfect for a an air mattress! Location is convenient and it's quiet. There are no working outdoor showers though, which I was looking forward to. Not sure if they were working at one point or they've never been finished. Either way we had a fantastic time and enjoyed our weekend away.

Camping at the Ridge at Stanley Gap

Beautiful property and private location. Campsites are limited and platforms are located next to a small musical stream. We watched a family of deer dine in the meadow in the early evening. Josh is an excellent host and very responsive to questions. We will be back!

Peaceful but in need of attention

Really beautiful, idyllic spot. The A-frame was roomy and comfortable for two, though I had not considered how much it would heat up during the day. Attention to a few details would make it even better. We ended up purchasing a removable window screen to allow for ventilation without insects. We appreciated the interior latch, but it required a great deal of strength to close the door and align it so that it would latch. Some work on better aligning the door would make it more usable. We also appreciated the bathroom and shower, but for some reason the power for the lights and fans were turned off. The outdoor showers were also not operational (items were being stored there). All in all, we really enjoyed this spot and the town of Blue Ridge, but attention to a few details would have made all the difference for our A-frame experience.

The door doesn’t lock from inside and it has lots of little nails that stick out and it sticks as you open it…. Also one of the horizontal slats came loose and came right off when I tried to close door. Bathroom was very nice and the area is nice and peaceful.

Wonderful Campground!

We always love staying at Josh’s land, especially in the A-Frame! It’s nice to not have to break down my tent every day when I come this way to visit my son. I believe this is my fourth visit and there will always be more times to come! Cannot say enough good things about this campground. 10/10 always recommend!

Really enjoyed my overnight in the A-Frame. The property is well kept. The other campers were friendly and respectful of noise/space. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. And highly recommend Angry Hops brewery in Blue Ridge!

Father / Son trip

My son and I went fishing and camping trip. This is the first time we used Hip Camp. We were the only people camping. Nice place. Good bathroom. Nice people.

This was our first time here and on hip camp. The property was beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves. The bathroom with shower was definitely worth it and very nice. The drive was easy and accessible. We had no problems finding it. Looking forward to coming back!

This will be our go-to spot for Blue Ridge from now on. We felt so at peace during our four nights here and loved hanging out and listening to the sounds of the creek. We were able to generate plenty of solar power in the sunny meadow. And having a flush toilet and hot shower available on site was a great luxury. Five stars!

A frame was nice and the surrounding property was great. Not far from town and there is a sweet farm stand that I stopped at. My dog had a blast too.

Absolutely love this spot! Have camped here 3 times now and it never disappoints, while on the way in I even saw a family of deer peacefully eating grass and enjoying their stay as well! Josh is a great host and responds very quick!

Had a peaceful and lovely stay in the meadow. Easy check in and good directions to get to the property. Josh was very responsive. There were only a couple of other campers so it was quiet. The outdoor showers are closed for the season but the heated bathroom has a shower that we used. Would return and recommend,

Beautiful property

Josh’s property is a beautiful place to camp. My brother and I just chose the wrong day to do it. It was cold and rainy. Josh was very kind and accommodating he gave us some extra wood for our fire that helped keep us warm through the night. We will definitely come back when it’s warmer.

Quiet small spot in the meadow with the small mountain creek and close by bathroom (with outdoor access, but it’s actually indoor and heated) was just right for this trip.

Don’t park next to the A-Frame

Really loved the location and the A-frame was everything advertised. The bathroom was also very nice, unexpectedly nice. The problem with, and probably the purpose for the A-frame, is that it is under a tree that covers it drops softball sized hard “fruit” and I now need to replace the sunroof of my car. This made a budget option for the art fair I participated in, a very expensive option. I wish I would have known not to park at the site. I may camp here again, but park at the “cabin.”

Excellent Spot!

Extremely nice meadow camping next to a babbling little creek for that extra ambiance. Joined some friends there for a night. Josh has a nice bike shop there and was an excellent host. Nice bathroom/shower in the back of the shop outside for longer term stays. Great spot! Highly recommended!
