Relaxing get-a-way!

I recently had the pleasure of using Hi-Camp for my first camping experience, and it was truly exceptional! Kennedy and Kristina were outstanding hosts, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Kennedy, in particular, graciously waited for us to arrive well past our scheduled check-in time, providing us with a warm welcome and a comprehensive tour of the campsite. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and falling asleep to the soothing sounds of the lake waves was just what I needed to unwind. I couldn't have asked for a better getaway experience. I highly recommend Kennedy’s Land to anyone looking for a serene escape into nature!

Great spot!

This is a great spot! Incredibly relaxing and full of fresh air. I loved laying out on the deck, fishing, and having a safe place to spend the night with nature on the other side of the door. The site comes plenty of amenities (hot shower, window AC units, indoor plumbing, stovetop burners, microwave, and fridge among other things). The owners have done a great job decorating the place, making functional and comfortable living spaces, and are just genuinely nice and sweet people. I had a great time and will be back!

Our experience here was more than we asked for. My partner and I enjoyed a day here during our birthday weekend and they really made it extra special for us. They even surprised us with a b-day desert. The chef that made the vegan burger is an excellent cook and the secluded yurt was lovely. We really enjoyed the opportunity to paint a memory on the walls of their abode as there were many other visitors that also left their memory. The tiki bar was chill and they have a lovely pool table and hot tub. It’s a very romantic place and it would be a great place to get away.

Our stay at Runaway Bay was delicious in every way! From the moment we stepped onto the property we could feel the care that Kennedy and Christina take in meeting the needs of each guest. It was our gift to ourselves for our first night as husband and wife to step out of our comfort zones and Runaway Bay was the perfect physical and energetic space to begin our journey as a couple. Easter escape!

Very chilled and easy experience staying at Runaway Bay Lodge. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Bed very large and comfortable. Nice shower. Lovely watching the sunset over the lake with a nice wood fire going.

There aren't words enough to explain the amazing vibe of this place.....just book a site. We recommend the Tikka masala add on. Beautifully done 4 course meal, fine dinning meal in a laid back casual setting with one of a kind hosts! Kudos Christina and Kennedy can't wait to return for a 3 retreat!

Absolutely restored

We will definitely be coming back to explore. Oh my goodness. My partner and I have been disheartened with the state of the world and working multiple jobs and moving and my daughter and I have been having health issues. So we just really needed some rest and mental peace. Kennedy was such a sweet awesome human and the space was everything anticipated. Nothing like a naked nap by the water ✌️ 🤤

We recently stayed at this glamping spot, and it was such a wonderful experience! Couldn’t ask for anything better!

We had the most amazing stay at this site! From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel right at home, and the experience only got better from there. The breathtaking water views were the highlight of our trip—waking up to that serene scenery each day was such a treat. We spent our days paddleboarding on the lake, playing pool, and relaxing in the hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed, making it so easy to cook and enjoy meals together. We spent NYE here and left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our return. This place is an absolute gem, and we can’t wait to come back!

We loved our stay! This place has such a unique charm, and Kennedy was very kind and accommodating. The tent was spacious, and it was so nice to fall asleep to the sounds of the water. We loved hanging out watching all the wildlife on the water, and the sunsets were so beautiful and right in front of the tent! It was such a relaxing and rejuvenating stay, we would definitely come back! The shared kitchen space was well stocked with cooking utensils which was very helpful. Thank you!

For hippies and alternatives 🥰

I mean it can’t get better than this. Right on the water of Lake George and one of the prettiest sunsets I’ve ever seen. Mid November is the perfect time to be in the waterside tent 🥰 We did not have access to the hot tub or dock due to the recent hurricanes but yet Kennedy found a way to make sure the vibes were still unmatched. Will most likely return!

The peace… the absolute utter peace I had from my long weekend with my husband and doggie. Kennedy was so loving and supportive. I just lost my job and had booked before hand. My husband and I choose to go knowing we needed a reset. We sat and read our books took naps and did a session with Kennedy. It was a huge blessing and if this is the comfort you have I highly suggest it!

This is a peaceful, private place. Kennedy is a kind & compassionate host with many gifts to share. The cabin was impeccably clean and very comfortable. The view of the lake from the screen porch is epic- sunrise and sunset stretch for hours. Sunbathing on the deck and cooling off in the lake view outdoor shower felt delightful. This is a great location on the lake & near several springs.

Anniversary getaway 420

So I found this place on line. It's our 25th anniversary so I wanted to do something different. It's funny I've been actually coming to this same camp ground for 20plus years and never knew about this little gem. I'm a big 420 guy and use it medically so I love this place is 420 friendly and it's clothing optional which we have never experienced. I love the idea and the amount of freedom in connecting with the out doors the way we were intended to be. Of course we only did the clothes optional at night when No one awake and loved it. The other guests there were awesome had great conversations and always great to meet new folks with different walk of like. Kennedy was an awesome guy he owns the place its just all love at runaway bay. Our cabin was the bigger of the 2 and was really surprised at how awesome this place was. If your looking for a change of scenery this is it. Our new friends Tom and Teresa were awesome as well, treated us great and accommodated any questions or needs we may have had. Check it out great time. We will be going back

Friendly and welcoming vibe! The hot tub and outdoor shower were phenomenal. We stayed in a spacious four person tent that provided a comfortable living room and bed.

Is love enough? Not really...

The good: The place is quiet, has a rustic charm, a good vibe and a clean hot tub. The not so good: The village is in need of some major love. The pictures aren't what the place looks like today. We stayed in Ome Sweet Ome yurt, and it had patches on the yurt itself, as well and it was in need of a good cleaning. The floor was wet maybe from the ac unit? I'm not sure. The heater wasn't really more than a cosmetic heater ( if there was heat, it was not alot). As for the rest of the village, the dock boards are old, and there were screws coming out of them where people are walking. The dock into the lake was gone due to hurricane but that wasn't mentioned. The railing was rope and not safe at all. The common room where the fridge, pool room and kitchenette are located were worn and stained, most of the handles for the sink and other water sources were gone and you had to turn on and off a valve on the pipe itself. We ordered a couples dinner package @ 7-ish, but ended up eating with another couple around 8:30, just to eat. The food was good but mostly cold and no dessert. IMO, this was misadvertised as the place looks very different from its pics and so many things needed repair. If you want to use that as part of the Hippie charm, I think then you need to be honest about what people are buying. It's run down, but runs on love. I don't think the dinner was worth the money, and I would not go back due to the current conditions. The Hippie vibe is not enough for the price.

I don’t know where to begin with this review! Perhaps how easy Kennedy made even before we checked in? He upgraded us to the bigger cabin (thank you) so we could sit on the screened porch w our dog. Or he accommodated us with our dinner the night of check in (Friday during lent, no meat) it’s difficult to begin to say how amazing our stay was! Our cabin was absolutely perfect! From the cute front door, the patio to the bed which I slept remarkably well on! Breakfast in the morning on our screened in patio was also amazing! Drinking our coffee overlooking the lake with our dog by our side. Just a beautiful experience! The close proximity to the nature conservation. Area was close enough for me to walk (and then walk about and sit in the hot tub!) my husband attacked the trails on his dirt bike (also nice and close) And the massage was out of this world! We had an absolutely stellar vaca at our home away from home! I was finally able to relax, read a book & stare endlessly at the lake! Couldn’t have asked for better weekend retreat!

Perfect Chill Escape from the City

We had such an incredible time staying with Kennedy at Runaway Bay! He has done such an incredible job creating an inclusive escape that encourages community and peace. The view from the dock is incredible, and curling up on a couch to watch the sun set and chat with other visitors was such a highlight from our trip. Kennedy is an incredible host - he is so friendly and welcoming, and really took the time not only to meet us but to also introduce us to other guests as well. We spent some time exploring the area and spring hopping at Salt Springs, Silver Glen, and Juniper Springs, and Kennedy provided some awesome recommendations for local spots and places to check out! We will 100% be recommending Runaway Bay to our friends - and are already looking into coming back with a group of people to rent out more of the space for a long weekend away from the city.

Girls trips!

We had an amazing and relaxing time, we also felt very safe and comfortable, and we were 2 girls, so natrully we were nervous. But we couldn’t have asked for a better experience, we will 100% be back. I’ve been to many resorts all of the country and the Caribbean and this place truly out beat most of them, by far!

Runaway Lodge = Peaceful Hippie H

This is more rustic than it is luxurious, so as long as you appreciate a little bit of "Old Florida," nudity, and all the charm of a relaxing, peaceful, hippie hamlet. Kennedy is a great host, and his calm demeanor, chill attitude, and " roll with the punches" personality adds to the whimsy of Runaway Lodge. He's accommodating and so long as you remember that "hippie time' automatically adds an hour to any service time, you'll enjoy his company and cuisine. We made the best of our stay, and had a delightful, quiet, and peaceful experience.

Nature Paradise

This was the perfect solo getaway for me to relax and recharge. Ohm Sweet Ohm was a delightful yurt equipped with heater, a/c, a lamp & extra outlets for phone charging. There were plenty of towels, blankets & pillows as well. The bed was super comfy. There were so many thoughtful places to sit and soak in the nature. I loved the outdoor shower with plenty of hot water & the rain shower head. Kennedy & the couple on the property were great hosts; very friendly & hospitable but also allowed me to have quiet time alone. The sun deck was a nature theater each day. The birds seemed to play musical chairs on the old pylons. I watched a baby alligator, many fish jumping, two playful otters, beautiful skylines and a cute little snake relaxing on a distant dock. Every space was inviting & well thought out. I plan to return & try the Waterfront Teepee in a few weeks.

Paradise

This is our second time here and this time was just as amazing as our first visit. The guests that were there with us were so nice and we spent some time hanging out around the fire. Sunsets are spectacular here! We definitely will be back!

Hidden Paradise

This place is a hidden paradise. My husband and I enjoyed hanging out in the tiki bar watching TV or listening to music. We booked the curry chicken dinner for two on Friday and it was amazing! We enjoyed talking with Kennedy while he prepared the meal. The sound of the water outside of the yurt is very relaxing. We were also able to watch the sunset after we cooked our dinner on Saturday. The shower was refreshing so I took three. We will definitely return and soon!
