Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) COVID-19: We are only allowing one booking a weekend because we'd like to ensure that the cabin has ample time to air out and be thoroughly disinfected between guests. TEMPORARY RISE IN CLEANING FEE: I live 50 miles away and have to drive to clean the property. Gas prices are quite high and I require a little extra to break even on costs. Sorry for the inconvenience! Off leash. We love doggies! The property is not fenced, but has some room for doggos to run around. *woof woof* :) Also, If you have a particularly hairy/ shedding dog, we ask that you bring a dog bed or kennel and do not let your dog sleep on the human bed or couch! Doggie hairs and pet dander are fine for pet owners, but not fine for everyone! We will know if you do not follow this rule and will be required to charge you extra, sorry! We have a firm no cat policy! Sorry!

Tap. All the the water from the tap comes from a well on the property and has been tested by the county and is potable (and delicious :) )

Trash bin. we have to haul all of our own trash, and theres not a lot of options for compost or recycling. If you have a hard time putting compost or recycling in the trash, let me know and we can work something out ;)

Private, oven, stovetop or hot plate, fridge, cookware, cooking utensils, dishware, cutlery, sink or other dishwashing station. There is a neat toaster oven/ griddle/ coffeemaker and there is also a propane stove top and oven. The fridge is small, so bring only essentials

We have a dining table inside and a patio set on the deck.
No wifi
Cell service and wifi is limited in the cabin. if this is a problem, contact me and i can direct you to places with free wifi and strong cell service only a short drive from the cabin.

What do you think of this hipcamp review? The cabin was serene and so quiet. The listing doesn’t state that there’s a yurt on site only 100yds away, we were told the week before there were supposed to be guests there the same weekend but they ended up not coming. I wish this had been included in the description of the rental, we are glad to have had the land to ourselves but potentially sharing it with another group of 6-8 people might not have felt as “secluded”. The other confusing aspect of this rental is that we had power go out one afternoon. I loved having no cell service but addressing this issue meant two drives out to an area with service to try and connect with amy for help (we didn’t get a response at first so we returned to the cabin for showers and drove again to service). When we did receive a response it was simply that there are power outages in the area sometimes that should only last 1-2 hours (it lasted 3-4). This power outage meant no lights, very minimal water flow, no working fridge/freezer, and no cooking. It was surprising to us that this wasn’t included in the listing or the manual so that we could have planned for it. Knowing both about the yurt and the power outages in the listing would have helped approach the trip much differently. Pros: small but spacious cabin, lots of cooking supplies, SO QUIET (there’s a road just off the driveway but I didn’t find it too noisy), enjoyable outdoor space for eating and relaxing

We booked this spot for a secluded get away for the holiday weekend. Unfortunately there is a secondary site on the property that isn’t listed on Hipcamp. We were able to hear the other guests until late which was tough for our reactive dog. The cabin was very dusty as well. I had high hopes based on the reviews but was pretty let down during our stay.

Beautiful cabin with hot showers, stocked kitchen, and plenty of cozy blankets! We also camped outside and had a great fire. Great spot close to perfect hikes to round out our weekend getaway.

Cost, charming and quiet, felt lived in, in a good way. We spent our time here disconnecting from everything since there was no cell service at the cabin. Perfect place to read, play games and just live in a bubble for a few days. Plenty of outdoors to enjoy near by we just chose not too. We look forward to coming back in the colder days

Loved this little gem! This was the first trip I've taken with my boyfriend and we will be back to this sweet, cozy, quirky little cabin! Seriously has all you need and more than enough space to make amazing memories.

The cabin was beautiful and very cozy, it was a great place to come back to between hiking and exploring the nearby national park and forests. There isn’t really any cell service at the cabin so I definitely recommend being prepared for that, however, it was a nice break from technology.

Relaxing and private

Overall a great little cabin! It was tucked away in the woods and felt very private. The area was beautiful and the cabin was clean. Just a couple downsides, the cabin was pretty chilly especially at night since the wood stove wasn’t working and the little radiator heater was not strong enough to warm the whole place up. Also there were quite a lot of food items left over from previous guests (I assume). The freezer especially was very full and it was hard to fit my own food in there. Also no cell service, which is both a pro and a con haha. A nice and relaxing time!

This is the cutest and coziest little cabin in the woods! So good for an offline reset to wrap up the year. It has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Super close to many trails for hiking and stunning sound views. I’d come back every season!

Great little minimalistic comfy cozy cabin. Great access to hiking, 4x4 trails, and small water front towns along Hood Canal. East to find. Easy to access, but private and secluded.

We had a lovely weekend at the Secluded Olympic Cabin. Amy was responsive to our concerns and was easy to communicate with. The location was great for our needs and, as others have indicated, the cabin was well stocked and cozy. That being said, we had indicated that we would be pitching two tents in addition to using the cabin. The designated tent pads have not been maintained resulting in two of our party sleeping in their car. Additionally, the backup propane tank was empty and we had to go fill it up. Amy reimbursed us for this, but it seemed odd this hadn't been taken care of ahead of time as we made our reservation well in advance. Finally, be aware that Amy's very sweet and very friendly kitty likes to take up residence. He's a great cat but we weren't aware to whom he belonged and we wondered if he was lost (we began looking for an animal shelter for him as he had no collar) - fortunately we were able to confirm with Amy that he belonged to her and she came and retrieved him as he enjoyed climbing on the tent. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay.

10/10 stay. We had a magical weekend in the forest and absolutely loved this little cabin. Cozy bed, lots of books and activities, and a beautiful deck to hang out on. We really appreciated the stocked kitchen and shared spices. The hike to Murhut falls nearby was fabulous. We hope to come back again 🌙

Loved this little wooded retreat

The good: the cabin is super cute! I loved the amenities including lots to look at inside with books and wall art and the little potbelly stove. Everything you could need is stocked in this cabin. It felt like maybe people leave a thing behind here and there geocache style. The iPods are amazing. I loved that part the most. We listened to all three basically the whole time we were there. I love a gas range, fascinated by the junk drawer in the kitchen and a variety of other little details. There are trails at the end of the road and the waterfall was very beautiful. There’s a good coffee place and an okay breaky restaurant like 10 minutes away. The not so good: the pan in the shower felt a bit unsupported, a ton of spiders behind the bed, pretty typical of a cabin really(we called it spider bed), it was pretty dusty inside, a surprising amount of traffic going by all day and most of the night. The neutral depending on who you are: there is no cell service at all. Overall I would stay there again. Heck, I’d live there. My spouse is a little more averse to spiders, so disagreed. 😅

The cabin was so cute and eclectic and even included a lot of necessities and extra stuff left behind from others which was nice. I actually liked that it was left for others to use rather than just thrown away like Airbnb’s! Lots of wildlife surrounding the cabin which was cool and a bit spooky at night lol. Stars were beautiful and it was so quaint! Would definitely come back.

This is our second year staying a the cabin. We love the location along Duckabush road, close to clamming beaches and the Duckabush River. The cabin has all the basics for cooking and is filled with eclectic decor. Our kids loved the little trails around the property.

This cabin was really sweet and so quiet. Well equipped kitchen in great working order. Bathroom was clean and shower had great water pressure. Great location close to state parks and forest service trails. Just a quick drive to stunning Hood Canal!

This is a cute little cabin. Perfect for what we needed! Amy is quick to respond to any questions… was looking forward to some campfire time but it rained both our nights there. Loved exploring the books and maps of the area and listening to the playlists on the iPods. 🥰
