Roots Rise Family Farm
Very nice camp
Roots Rise campground was quite beautiful and had good accommodations with fresh water and a clean Sani-can. There was plenty of space to spread out away from others if you wanted to do that. The territorial view was great too. We were there with a large group and did a bike ride on the Klickitat Trail which is really close by. I plan on going back in the future.

Good Vibes, Nice Views
We stopped here on our way to the Gorge Amphitheater. Great location, beautiful drive, and caught the view of Mt Adams before the sun set. The hipcamp was great for what we needed, but if you're looking for privacy and/or a designated campsite, this might not be the right spot for you. The other campers around us were super friendly and it was good vibes all around. Loved the little communal area the hosts set up. Amy was also very communicative and helpful. :)

We pulled in and at first glance had hesitation so we drove by the other campers trying to keep a positive frame of mind. We looked around and opted leave, lose our $45, to drive 100 extra miles in hopes of something that felt safer. I would not recommend this property to anyone- especially anyone with kids. Pictures online misrepresent this property. First time ever in all my years of RVing.

Very friendly and relaxed host! Beautiful property with great views! Guests should remember this is still camping, even in the RV - lots of bugs and critters! We had a great time and enjoyed meeting the resident dogs. If you are camping, note that tree coverage/shade is limited.

RTT camping with our pup.
This was a great spot! We have a RTT and we just pulled up and made camp. We needed a place to stay for the night and we were able to make dinner, fill up our water jugs and use the bathroom. We had wonderful stargazing too! Their dogs are very sweet too! Amy was very attentive and made sure that we were happy and comfortable (via text) before the my went to bed for the night.

Fun views, sweet dogs!
It has a beautiful view and upper area to hang out. Wonderful start watching. It’s very close to the river and fun hikes. Super dog friendly which was wonderful for us. There were quite a few other people camping there. I wouldn’t describe it as private.

Amy’s land was beautiful! Lots of nice areas to pitch your tent and a great little communal area with games, hammocks and tables. Our dogs loved running around with John and Huck. We would definitely stay here again!

Roots Rise Camper Van
Moonrise + Sunrise bliss
Everything was as expected!
The drive to this location from Hood River was quick and easy, but felt wonderfully remote. Amy greeted us for a quick hello and then let us do our thing.
The property is perched on a hilltop, so the view was incredible — especially the moonrise and sunrise views. The camper van was comfortable, the porta potty bathrooms across the field were clean, and other guests on site seemed respectful and chill.
One note to make — have everything you need when you go up… the little store down the way closed by 8 on a Saturday and the next option would be more than 20 minutes away. They had water in the camper which was helpful, and all you need to make coffee or tea, but we forgot coffee, so come prepared. :)
The quiet and beauty here were bliss.

Roots Rise 40’ Trailer
Amy makes it very easy to stay in the RV camper. You can pull right up to it and let yourself in. We were there during an extreme heat wave and a/c kept us much cooler than the intense heat outside. The RV was immaculately clean, has Netflix and a clean comfy bed and bathroom, as well as all the kitchen items you need. We loved staying here and hope to be back again!

An amazing night sky
Overall we had a great time. Amy was very friendly, the dogs were nice and friendly and the location was easy to find. It is dispersed camping and pretty primitive. It was hard to know what to do and not easy to find someone to answer questions or get eggs that were purchased. Much of the property is on a hill and not a lot of flat ground. The property itself was pretty messy and not well kept.

Very enjoyable experience!
We had a very nice stay at Roots Rise Family Farm! It was pretty hot when we arrived in the afternoon but found a nice spot behind some trees. In the evening we walked around the property and met the owners who were super cool. We bought some amazing eggs from them and chatted about their farm. Beautiful place! We will visit again.

Truly peaceful!
Lovely, tranquil, and beautiful. Loved the views of Adams and the amazing starry sky! So quiet and calm. Protip: you will be assigned a dog at check-in. Johnny Cash is hilarious!
