The property is 17 acres of enchanted forestland with 300ft of Sandy River frontage. Both sides of the river are part of the Enchanted Forest. Please note that all campsites are not accessible by vehicle and do involve a short walk from the parking area. Therefore, RV's/campers, rooftop tents, and camper vans are not ideal for this property. Bring your paddle board or kayak to enjoy the river (Dependent on river level/current strength) The property is located within 2 miles from the Sandy Ridge Mountain bike trails and Barlow Wayside hiking trails. It's approximately 20 minutes to Government camp, ~ 35 minutes to Timberline for skiing and biking and an additional ~ 15 minutes to Mt. Hood Meadows. Approximately 50 min to PDX airport, and 1 hour to downtown Portland.

Therefore, RV's/campers, rooftop tents, and camper vans are not ideal for this property. Tent sites are about a 4-5 minute walk from the vehicle parking area and includes a small hill. The camping area is private but other campsites are approximately 150 feet apart. This campsite can hold approximately 4 tents. There is a wheelbarrow and cart available to transport gear in/out of the campsite. The parking area also includes the porto potty, washing station, potable water, and garbage disposal area. The campsite includes a picnic table. While the campsite is directly on the river, the access to the river at the site is rocky. Add ons include: propane fire pit (fuel included), wood for campfire (outside of fire ban season) Horsetails are abundant, it is recommended to bring a tarp to lay under your tent. This campsite is slightly different than the other campsites on the premises. This campsite is the furthest from the parking area with an approximately 8 minute walk from your vehicle to the camp site. Tent camping is not located right on the river's edge. It is located slightly inland, however, this campsite still has its own private access to the river. The river access for this campsite is near some rapids so you will get the great river sounds. The camping area is private but please note that there may be other guests in campsites that are approximately 150 feet apart. There is a wheelbarrow and cart available to transport gear in/out of the campsite. The parking area also includes the porto potty, washing station, potable water, and garbage disposal area. The campsite includes a picnic table. Please note that the access to the river at the site is rocky. Welcome to the Enchanted Forest cabin. This rustic cabin is approximately 4 minutes walking distance from the parking area which does include a small hill. There is a wheelbarrow to use as a shuttle for your belongings if needed. The parking area also includes the porto potty, washing station, potable water, and garbage disposal area. The cabin is on the Sandy river with a private sandy beach for enjoyment. The cabin is 12 x14 ft with a king size bed and fitted sheet. Inside is a small bistro table with two chairs. Outside there is a picnic table near the BBQ and 4 chairs to relax near the river. The cabin reservation includes the BBQ (with side burner) and propane for use to prepare meals. You can add "extras" to your reservation to customize the experience you want. Add ons include: propane fire pit (fuel included), wood for campfire (outside of fire ban season), bedding, or an indoor propane heater if it will be cold during your reservation. Fun fact: The drive way access from Marmot Rd to the parking spot is part of the original Oregon Trail and is preserved by the Bureau of Land Management. You can: Fish, kayak or paddle board on the river. Very private and exclusive river access.

Beautiful spot almost right on top of the river. The signs that the host puts up throughout the land are very helpful. We rented the propane fireplace to make smores, would recommend. The sounds of the river mask the highway noise which is nice. Comfy bed and sooo private! My dog loved being off leash as well.

Enjoyed our stay on Josh’s land over the 4th! Our spot was right on the river with a big fire pit and all the sites were very private. It is a 5 minute or so walk down into the camp area, but the trails are so pretty and well maintained and the carts provided made it easy.

Great riverside campsite with sufficient privacy. The climb back up the hill with a wagon full of gear is a killer workout, but the uphill is only a small fraction of the trek :-)

We had a wonderful time at the rustic cabin in the Enchanted Forest! The cabin itself is far more comfortable and cozy than tent camping, with a comfy bed and hard walls and windows all around. It is very spacious. If you do need extra space, there is a tent spot adjacent to the cabin. The river is right outside the cabin, with a lovely little beach--our 3 dogs loved it. There is a picnic table and large fire pit. For cooking, the bbq is available, although I only used the side burner to boil water for my instant meals. There is a short hike down to the site, but a very steep hill, so you must remember that what you wheel down in the large provided wagons (they hold A LOT) will also need to be PULLED BACK UP. That was a workout, but well worth it! The area is quiet and clean, very wooded and well kept. There is a lot of space between sites. We also rented Tent site A which is nearest to the cabin--it is a little stroll away. Having both sites made us feel like we had our own private reserve! We enjoyed fishing from both sites. I even caught a trout! Thank you for a really fun and relaxing experience!

We had fun camping along the Sandy River. Our site was near a larger site occupied by very vocal individuals, so the privacy wasn’t quite what we’d hoped, but they respected quiet hours for the most part so it wasn’t a major problem.

My partner and I had such a great time on Campsite A. During our stay, we navigated camp setup in the middle of a thunderstorm and still felt comfortable and safe. Our host, Joshua, was very responsive and even came to our rescue in the rain. The property is well paved for easy navigation to your designated site with signs and markers to ensure you’re where you need to be. We enjoyed our first camping experience here and can’t wait to visit again soon. Our camp site was perfect for our setup with a beautiful view of the river. Upon our arrival, we spotted some trash along the trail to our site. We made sure to pack it away for the past guest that were visiting, but this is just a reminder to pack in/pack out! We would love to enjoy this property in the near future and hope to continue to do our part to keep it clean and environmentally safe. Happy camping!

My third time at the cabin!
Riverside Cabin
This is my third time visiting the cabin, twice last summer and again last night. I was slightly nervous about ants based on the previous review but thank goodness there were none inside the cabin during my trip. This is a great camping site for people who love a relaxing time by the river. I tied my float to one of the rocks and just laid in the sun for hours. Josh is a great host and always willing to help you with your stuff when he is available. His property is stunning and you feel safe. I have been here 3 times and will definitely be back again! Me and the pup love Josh’s space!

Very enchanted forest. I felt like I was in a fairy land. We also had the perk of a birds nest on the trail to our site right at shoulder level and could peek-in at them. Lots of space and very private. I loved the walk to and from the cars. It is not as pong as I expected. Thanks for the wheel barrows!

Such an incredible job with the grounds. The short walk among bamboo to the different sites feels far removed and private, while the sites themself are very well taken care of. The carts to carry your supplies to and from the car is very much appreciated. Site B is large, all sand, and has a great perch view of the river. One of the best camp sites I’ve stayed at in Oregon.

Great access to the water, adorable cabin but bring bug spray on the headboard wall and floor to keep carpenter ants from getting on the mattress. There were SO many before we sprayed!

The campsite was very well set up, he even came and helped bring out stuff to our campsite even though we arrived late! The views were amazing, the campsite was big and all the paths were well made. Definitely would come back again!

Campsite A has direct access to the river and a great spot to set up a hammock! The host, Joshua was available so when we had a concern or a need he’d help us out. Maps led us to a different spot but he communicated that that could happen and gave excellent directions to guide us to the site. There’s lots of signs to point you in the right direction and the paths to the campsites are beautiful with lots to see.

Fantastic spot! Will definitely be back in the future. Great hosts, tons of privacy and river access is great! Bed was clean and comfy with no issues getting to sleep and the cabin stays plenty warm. If you have mobility issues do take note that there is a slightly (maybe 0.2 miles or so) of a walk to the campsites with a slightly steep hill but it wasn’t a big issue at all and the paths/signage are very well maintained. River access also has sand which makes it very nice when accessing. Overall 10/10 camping spot and worth every single penny! 👍

Easily one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. Absolutely stunning walk to the cabin, and our own private beach leading up to the stream. We added on a cooking bundle and firewood which we’re waiting for us upon arrival! I cannot recommend this spot enough, you will not regret it!
