We had a great time camping on CJ's land! Lots of space for our tents, nice amenities, and the views were fantastic. Sunset is a real treat. Good activities including hikes and fishing within 30 minutes and national forest access less than 10 minutes away.

Our second year at CJ's site, and just as enjoyable as the first time. The sites continue to be well maintained and offer a relaxing and enriching camping experience. CJ was a great host and provided useful tips that helped make our stay the best possible!

I loved camping on CJ's property. It was absolutely beautiful and serene. CJ and Tim were great hosts and have thought of everything to make the experience amazing. Close to Mt.Ranier NP, Packwood, and so much more. We'll definitely be back.

CJ’s place is amazing! Stunning mountain views and sunsets, and the barn bathroom is the best Hipcamp bathroom I’ve encountered! We camped with a larger group and booked both of the meadow sites- so much space for us all to spread out. We had plans to go do some hiking nearby, but ended up spending the whole weekend relaxing and taking in the view instead. So grateful that CJ is sharing this little slice of heaven with others, and I’m eager to come back and take a painting class.

The view was indeed a masterpiece! We were very impressed with the sight once we got out of our car. There was plenty of space around for us to camp. We were at The Gloaming which was infront of the RV spots and barn. I think the other tent site was at another corner on the other side of the road. We had access to a picnic table, a campfire pit, some campfire chairs (from the barn), and a tree which provided some shade. There was a cosy and spacious washroom that was beautifully furnished inside, and an extra porta potty around in case it was occupied. CJ was responsive and friendly throughout, which provided for such a comfortable stay. We hope to be back!

The location was beautiful! The barn with amenities was so well thought out. We laid out and watched the stars each night. The host was very helpful. The only thing that would take it to the next level is hot showers - but I believe that’s coming! Would definitely recommend!

CJ’s farm was a beautiful spot for a weekend camping trip with friends and dogs. We stayed at the Gloaming, and the site was lovely. The welcome flyer was super helpful, and having a real bathroom nearby was a huge plus. A few things to note for future campers: each morning we were woken up around 6 a.m. by someone using a chainsaw, not the hosts’ fault, but something to be aware of. The listing stated trash disposal was included, but we found out it actually costs $5–10 per bag, which wasn’t mentioned beforehand. Firewood was also pricey at $15 per bundle, while nearby farms had it for $5. If you plan to cook, definitely bring your own camp kitchen. The listing mentioned cookware and cooking utensils, and while there was a stove/oven, small propane grill, coffee maker, and electric kettle, there were no pots, pans, or cooking utensils, only paper plates and plastic cutlery. These weren’t deal-breakers, but they were unexpected surprises that seemed to come from outdated listing info. Overall, it’s a great spot. Just come prepared to avoid hiccups.

Such a beautiful and peaceful spot! Perfect place to camp with our dogs- one of our dogs needs space from people and this was ideal for him. The amenities were far beyond expected in the barn/kitchen and lovely bathroom. Perfect spot to relax after a day of hiking. And the stars at night were amazing!

Paradise! This was the most tranquil and scenic camping we had during our trip in the Northwest. A very warm welcome by CJ, and excellent amenities. The sunset and sunrise are awesome there. We were too tired to watch the starts..

Beautiful views, gorgeous sunsets, dark skies for stargazing, clean bathroom with an actual flush toilet and sink, potable water, spacious… just had everything we needed and more. CJ was friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. Conveniently located close to Hwy 12 but still very quiet/private. We’d stay again in a heartbeat! Kids absolutely loved it too.

Peaceful, serene & enlightening!

What an amazing enlightening place to camp! We are in our late 60s, have been camping and RVing for 20+ years, and this is near the top of our list now. All the beautiful trees, mountains, farm animals, and the amazing host CJ made this one of the best trips ever. Even our dog was depressed when we had to leave today. Don’t hesitate to try it out. We will definitely be going back. On a clear night the stargazing is incredible. ♥️

Camping at CJ’s was excellent. The shared facilities were well taken care of, the portable toilets were the best I’ve ever encountered, and the view is beautiful. We are so happy to have stayed there and would recommend it without reservation!

We absolutely loved our site. CJ was extremely accommodating as we experienced some RV issues that caused us to arrive very late to her site. Not only was she awake but she helped us get parked at our site. Mobile mechanic was able to come and fix our issues while we explored Mount Rainier. What a peaceful spot to enjoy.

Absolutely gorgeous property and the host was perfection. Loved the community barn area, the art, the chickens, the cows mooing. Best part of this spot? The VIEW. We don't often use HipCamp, but we'll be looking to come back! Thanks CJ!

Beautiful, comfortable, and private

I have been there before, this was my second time. I love this place, such wide open meadows to look at and its typically perfect for star gazing. C J is a fantastic host, makes sure you have no problem and lets you have your privacy. You have a good restroom, drinking water and good privacy. All that I look for in a ca pung spot! Would recommend it to anyone.

A definite must!

Painter’s Paradise is one of the most gorgeous pieces of land we have camped on! Not only are there spectacular views wherever you look but the stars at night are breathtaking!! It rained one of the days we were there but CJ has a wood burning stove in her painting studio barn with cozy chairs and tables so we bought some firewood and had a roaring fire and kept nice and toasty while we admired her STUNNING paintings!! There is an adorable little building that has a flushing toilet, vanity, and sink that was very convenient and is centrally located. We will absolutely be back and can’t wait to see how this property develops. Definite recommendation for some soul healing and battery recharge!
