We offer some of the most beautiful scenery in western Washington. Here you will find the peaceful quiet of being "away from it all", yet in reality you are only a little over a mile from the local grocery store, restaurants, and gas stations along Hwy 12 in Randle. We have 20 spacious sites on 70 acres, bordered by the Cowlitz River in Randle, WA. We are centrally located between Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams. Since we are not open for public entry, you can feel safe leaving your camp set up while you take day excursions. We have dry camping ONLY. There is a spigot for water at the gate, but no water or electricity hookups at any of the sites. We welcome individual campers as well as groups. Many of our sites will hold 20-30 people, all in one site area. We can also accommodate much larger groups.... Let us know if you have a special group event. It is full shade with very little grass in the hollow, but plenty of grass on the upper part, which is in full sun. While some have pulled or backed their trailers down in, this site is best for tenters. However, there is room on the upper portion, for large trailers and motorhomes. There is a private trail to The Fort Beach when the water is lower. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. A smaller camp trailer can be backed in as well. There is parking for extra vehicles on the fringes. This site is right on the river bank with a view of the "eagle tree" and Mt. Adams. It has a trail to the riverbar when the water is lower. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. It is full shade, and has no grass at this time. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. You are welcome to come to the property early, and stay on the property until early evening to enjoy the river....there are plenty of places to park before you check-in or after you check-out. There is a view of the river and gentle beach access when the water is lower. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site is considered one of the best for those who want to "float the loop" over and over again. It also has a large grassy area for kids to play. It is near the takeout point for floaters, so there are many passersby during peak float times. This site can accommodate any size vehicle. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. There is access to The Fort Beach at the downstream end. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site has a mixture of shade and sun depending on the time of day. Grass is planted in the site, and some is growing nicely. Smaller vehicles and tents are recommended at this time, however larger vehicles have lots of room on the fringe of the site, in full sun. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. This site is full shade all day. The actual site is recommended for tenters only, even though a skilled driver could back a small trailer in. There is room on the outskirts for a trailer or motorhome. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. There is one beautiful Maple tree for shade, with a huge expanse of grass and sun all around. It sits directly on the edge of the river bank.There is a steep trail for some private river space when the water is low. Beach access is just a short walk. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site is more visible than other sites, but is still very private compared to typical campgrounds. It will easily accommodate any size vehicle. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. It is back off the beach a bit to protect it from the afternoon wind, and is shielded from the main paths by surrounding trees and foliage. Big Beach and Sandy Beach are just a short distance. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site has a mixture of sun and shade depending on the time of day. It is a newly expanded site, and grass has been planted, but right now it is mainly dirt. The pics do not show the new expansion yet. All size vehicles can fit here, however, be aware that it is a long, slow journey in for big rigs. This site can be requested for a group larger than 30. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. 01- NORTH BANK For more details of all 20 sites, please see our webpage: CowlitzRiverRentals.com North Bank is set far apart from the other sites. It is the farthest upstream on the river and has immense privacy. It sits right on the river, but has a steep bank. There is access for floating a short distance away, but no real beach. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. There is a huge grassy area on the upper section, and deep shade on the lower section. Any size vehicle will fit on the upper section. Smaller camp vehicles and tents are recommended for the lower section. There is plenty of room to spread out, with extra room on the fringe for more vehicles. This site can be requested for a group larger than 30. While it is the closest to the highway, it is tucked into a hollow that allows optimal privacy. See the photo of our site map for location. This will allow for pull-through access, and a more private camping experience. This site is mostly shaded until late afternoon. It does not have a view of the river, but is conveniently located on one of the "float the loop" paths. Campers in these sites are welcome to use any of the beaches. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. There is a connecting path to Wolf Den for those wanting to book both sites for a larger group. Larger motorhomes and trailers will not fit easily into this site. They can park near the entrance to the site, which has grass and full sun. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. I cannot get this to change in the settings for this site. The "eagle tree" is directly across the river. This site is predominantly shady with a mix of grass and dirt. There are two basic sections to park camp vehicles or pitch tents....right next to the river, or back behind a bit. There is river access at each end of this site. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. There have been a Class A motorhome and some large 5th wheel trailers in here, but you should be confident in your maneuvering skills before attempting something very large. Check in is 2pm. It is full, deep shade all day, which also means no grass. It is a short walk to either beach, and is a great place to be at the end of your float. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site is fairly secluded and private, but seems to allow sound to travel rather easily at night. If your group tends to be a bit boisterous, you may want to choose a different site. Larger motorhomes and longer trailers may have some issue with getting into the site due to some tighter turns. It is also a long, slow journey in for larger vehicles.

It completely surrounded by trees and foliage, making it quite private. It is back off the riverbank a bit, with no view of the water, but beach access is a few yards in either direction. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving.The deep, deep shade makes this site the absolute coolest during hot weather. It is also pretty good at rain protection too. Due to the shade, the floor is mostly dirt. This site can accommodate any size vehicle. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. It is also a great site for a basecamp for day adventures, as it is fairly close to the camp area exit. This site can accommodate all size vehicles. There are multiple spaces to set your tent right on the riverbank, or other spaces back a bit further from the edge. It is very shaded with trickles of sun during the day. It borders a large grassy area that is shared with Berry Patch. This site seems to dry out last, so reservations for May might need to be adjusted to a different area depending on weather. Larger vehicles can park on the grassy area on the fringe of the site. Beach access is available directly from the site when the water is low. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. Great river views and access

05 - Riverbar West

We were a group of 3 families celebrating a birthday, and we had a fantastic time. The camp spot has gorgeous views, privacy and great river access. The porta potty was very clean, no unpleasant smells with hand sanitizer and TP. We enjoyed waking on the property, spotted 2 foxes and many cool birds, and floated on the river a couple of times. It is really dusty, but it's worth it anyway. We are already making plans to come back, great spot!

River Bar West - Amazing!

11- Cowlitz Ledge

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Cowlitz River Rentals. It’s amazing, I really couldn’t recommend it more. We stayed at River Bar West, It has very easy access to the river. The sites are large and very private. Also the spacing between them is perfect, it almost felt like we were the only ones there! There were several port-a potties around the sites, and they were clean and serviced regularly. Hazelanna is such an amazing host! She is very kinda, communicative, and extremely helpful with whatever you may need. We are already planning our trip for next year and cannot wait to come back! Thank you! - A&H

Hazelanne was an exceptional host. I really appreciated that they came around multiple times to check in and even came by with a couple of floats for us to use the following day. The land is absolutely beautiful and it was a delight to lay in the field and watch the stars at night

06 - Rabbit Hollow

We had such a great time camping here! The river was amazing and The views were incredible. There is just Something about a sunsetting in the mountains with cows in the meadows. Hazelanna was a fantastic host, holding it down like a boss. You can tell how hard the hosts work to keep it a clean and well- kept place. Hoping to come back next year!

04 - Hawk Haven

I’m honestly surprised this spot has any availability—it feels like a hidden gem. It’s the perfect distance from Seattle: far enough to feel like you’re getting away, but still super accessible. There are a ton of sites, and each offers something a little different depending on what kind of camping experience you’re after. Our site had a picnic table and fire pit, which was a huge plus. The porta potty was clean and access to the water was easy. Floating was the highlight of our trip—we spent hours just drifting and soaking up the sun. Getting clean water was no issue either, which made things even easier. We loved every second and honestly would’ve stayed longer if we could’ve. Will definitely be back!

08 - Meadow's Edge

Loved Cowlitz River! It was clean quiet and peaceful. Meadow’s Edge was a little less private than other camps, in that it was on grass with only one large tree. But other camps weren’t too close, so it still felt private. If you have solar, this is a great spot. It was nice to be next to the river without direct beach access, as we had a toddler we didn’t want to try and swim unsupervised. Hazelanna was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful.

Absolutely loved this place! It’s shaded if you don’t like to be in direct sun all day, but you can walk right out the campsite to the sunshine. Super easy and short walk down to the river where we of course spent most the day! There were campers at the “nearby” sites but you can’t see them or hardly hear them even. With small kids who sleep early it was perfect! Portipotty near by was clean and stocked. The host was very nice and even stopped by the next day to check in (we were trying to get the kids to nap so didn’t get to chat, but it was still sweet!). Will absolutely be staying again! Probably should be a yearly trip at least!

The Point

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at this Hipcamp. The hosts were incredibly kind and responsive, and it’s clear they’ve poured their heart and soul into this property, which has been in their family for five generations. Our group, consisting of five families with young toddlers, had a wonderful time exploring the fields and playing in the sand. Even the adults got to enjoy floating down the stunning river on the property, despite it being late September. The photos truly don’t do this place justice, and we will definitely be back. The campsites are well spaced out, so even though we were the only ones there during our stay, it would still be a perfect getaway even if fully booked. We couldn’t recommend this place more!

Amazing serene spot, my pup and I hung out by the river all morning. I plan on bringing a group of friends soon since the tent site was so spacious. Host is amazing and accommodating and has a beautiful property that I got an opportunity to experience.

This was, by far, our best Hipcamp experience yet! The property was just AMAZING. My kids and I hung out all day by the river and enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking and playing in the sand. In the early evening we would walk up to the grassy field, where we could still see the river, while we made dinner and enjoyed our propane fire pit. The host is was kind and welcoming. Definitely coming back to this spot!

Hazelanna was a very gracious wonderful host, making sure all of our needs were met. Site grp 4 is large with a beautiful view. It felt very private. Close access to the river for us and other campers. ( no problems with that!) Port a pottys were very clean and kept stocked. This was my favorite experience! Floating the River, trees, rocks, stars,,, and even a few soft moo’s of cows in the distance!

We loved our stay at Bigfoots Den and found the site more than adequate for our small trailer. Our host, Hazelanna, was so kind and kept us informed of all the amenities at the camp. I had fun exploring on my bike and with my dogs through the 70 acre site, Highly recommend !

What a special spot. Private access to the river. Really large private camping spots well spaced out from the other campers. We were at BigFoot den and the shade from the trees was great for the especially hot weekend. We also all really enjoyed the float on the river. We had a bunch of kids with us and appreciated that the river felt pretty safe. Like a lazy river float. Safe for all ages! Host was very responsive in planning and meeting requests like for a 2nd table at the site for our large group. We will be back!

I had an amazing time camping at Hazelanna’s property! The sites are private but allow you to be social if you’d like. The instructions and signs around the property were so helpful, clear, and kind. Floating the river was so relaxing and having floats on site made it so easy, especially because I forgot one! Everything was so clean and well appointed. Being able to walk next to the cows in the next door field was definitely a highlight! And Hazelanna was so kind and helpful. I would highly recommend her space to anyone, especially for families and gatherings. It’s an amazing place!
