Some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in Britain lies along The Pembrokeshire Coast Path which twists and turns its way along 186 miles of rugged cliff tops, hidden coves and wide open beaches. Lying less than a mile from the path, and at the foot of the impressive Preseli Mountains, Llwyngwair Manor Holiday Park is perfectly placed to access both coast and country.

Set in 55 acres of grass and woodland with streams, a river and well-kept floral-filled grounds, the estate includes a hotel and caravan park (hear us out) along with 80 pitches for tents, tourers and motor homes. If you're striving for solitude, escapism and back-to-basics camping then this isn't going to be for you. What the park lacks in intimacy, however, it makes up for in both its top-notch facilities and its access to the nearby coast and hills.

The modern shower block is clean, there are electrical hook-ups at most pitches and for those who can't bear to leave technology at home, there's Wi-Fi access and Sky Sports. You'll also find a licensed bar (bar food available) along with pool/snooker, table tennis and tennis courts.

What makes this site really special though is its setting. The whole park has unrivalled views of Carn Inglli mountain looming in the distance and there are many country walks from the site that take you to the coast, to the Preselli Hills or to the Bleeding Yew in Nevern. With the Pembrokeshire coast on your doorstep, whether you're a walker, mountain biker, surfer or beachcomber, it's all there waiting to be discovered, experienced and enjoyed. And what better place to get your adrenaline-fix than the spiritual home of coasteering? For sight-seeing the charming medieval town of Newport is within walking distance or take a short boat trip to the picturesque Skomer island where dolphins, seals and colourful puffins can all be spotted.

Flowering shrubs provide constant colour and bluebells and foxgloves abound in season. Flowering shrubs provide constant colour and bluebells and foxgloves abound in season. The shower block has instantaneous hot water, powerful showers and lovely clean facilities. This is also where you can wash-up and take your litter. You can use the washing machine and tumble dryer in the Manor should you need it. We supply logs but you will need to bring your own marshmallows! Should you leave anything behind, Newport has a good supply of shops that cater for every need and a good selection of pubs and restaurants should you wish to explore. Pre-book your breakfast at the manor for £8.50 per person, also you can order a take-away at the Manor too! Extra cars are to be parked at the hotel car park at no extra cost. Any boats and trailers, please park in the boat park. A maximum of 2 dogs area allowed per tent and MUST be kept on a lead at all times! Good walking shoes are a must. Tennis racquets and fishing rods, optional!

Lovely setting next to a river. Beware of the midges in warmer weather! Clean facilities and peaceful atmosphere. Lots of friendly fellow campers at the site. Kids loved the mini golf!

Loved the location and the facilities. Everything you need is there and the added bonus of having access to the bar/restaurant /bowling just made it perfect for us. We felt safe, the facilities were clean and cleaned regularly to a really high standard .Staff were helpful and frindly. All in all a lovely stay . We will definetely come back! Cannot wait to sit again on the river bank and enjoy the stunning views!

Bell tent

Bell tent was in a nice location by the river. But it does come with quite basic facilities for the price. Beds aren’t that comfy either. They are very small futons which don’t make a very good double bed when pushed together. The camp stove only has one ring and there was only a small pan to use so would recommend bringing bigger pans if needed. The shelter outside is also very small. Other than that it was peaceful and the toilet block was clean.

What an enjoyable holiday with such a beautiful setting and friendly staff..There is an excellent dog walk for Belle. The river running alongside was georgeous with ducks and heron flying up the river. In the evening there were a number of ducks flying overhead from the conservation near newport. We will certainly be going back next year hopefully covid will be sorted.

The camp site was right next to the river which was lovely,very peaceful. It was a basic site no on site shop ,however you can go to the hotel for a beer or wine. We had a great time & would recommend & stay there again.

We stayed in the bell tent accommodation. It was clean, cosy and came with a fire pit, all the logs you could need, a picnic table with awning, lighting, a heater, fridge and kettle. The foam bed/chairs were comfortable enough. The grounds are beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Take away food from the Manor restaurant was welcomed despite being quite pricey. We would definitely return - hopefully we'll do better with the weather next time!

We camped with electric hook up for 2 nights. The site is extremely clean and well kept. Toilet and shower facilities are 5 star. Cleaned regularly and more so I believe down to COVID. We saw multiple staff through out the day cleaning. The site itself is set in very peaceful, well kept grounds. We were next to a river with ducks which was beautiful. Although we did not eat in the hotel restaurant, the staff were friendly and accomodating when we asked for advice on local walks and transport. Very helpful. I would definately book again.

We stayed 5 nights on a lovely flat sheltered tent pitch. It was out of school holidays and therefore very quiet and peaceful. This is overall a large site and, as the owner freely describes, I expect it is a very lively place at peak times but we had a very relaxing out of high season stay here. The facilities are clean and spacious. The hotel bar has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and we were able to take our dog inside on the cooler evenings - although there is a sign at the main entrance “no dogs” the bar staff kindly directed us to a room adjacent to the bar where we were able sit, eat & drink. We had an enjoyable stay and would use this site again.

My 2 children and I stayed for a week here. We stayed on an pitch with electric. The pitches were flat and in lovely settings near the river, which my kids loved. If you are a light sleeper then the continual river sounds might keep you up but I found them relaxing. Shower block is well maintained and fridge and freezer available. My kids liked the games room with Wi-fi, only criticism is that this room could do with a little TLC but it didn't bother my two. I would definitely recommend the site and will be coming back if we visit this area again. Thanks for a great stay.

A fantastic family-friendly holiday park between Newport and Fishguard in north Pembrokeshire. While we usually stay at more basic tents-only campsites, we made an exception for Llwyngwair Manor. The riverside pitches are really peaceful and safe for the kids. With tennis courts and room to ride their bikes there's lots for them to do and plenty of room to play with new-found friends. There are bell tents available and caravans pitches. The hotel at the top also sells ice cream and has a welcoming bar. Newport and Fishguard and both really pretty harbour towns and St Davids is also a little further down the coast. Oakwood Theme Park is also less than an hour south.

The Llwyngwair Manor Park is set in the 55 acres of grass and woodland of Llwyngwair Estate, and bounded by the River Nevern. Flowering shrubs provide constant colour and bluebells and foxgloves abound in season. Stately trees stand against the background of the Preseli Hills and towering peak of Carningli. The Manor, which is fully licensed, offers hotel accommodation, bars with open fires, snooker room, poolroom and launderette. One wing contains five comfortable, well-furnished, self-catering apartments available for holiday lets. Well-spaced caravans are discreetly positioned to give pleasure from the trees, grassland and streams, which feature in the natural amenities of this unique site. Central areas of grassland are provided for recreation with play areas where children can be kept under supervision. Both static and touring parks have access to the Manor facilities.

Nearby attractions

The small medieval town of Newport on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is less than a mile away, with a castle, beaches, boating and circular walks. Situated at the foot of the Preseli Hills, Llwyngwair Manor is perfectly placed for walking and mountain biking. Adventure sports including coasteering, kite-surfing and tree-top trails are all available close-by. Take a trip to the picturesque Skomer Island to spot wildlife including dolphins, seals and puffins. Dale Sailing Company (01646 603123) makes the crossing three times a day, six days a week.

Food and drink

Bar food and licensed bar on-site. Travel the short distance to Newport where the Golden Lion (01239 820321) serves traditional Welsh fare in a laid-back environment, while the Royal Oak (01239 820632) specialises in tasty curries (along with more traditional pub dishes).
