Great camp site to get away from it all, very peaceful and secluded creek nearby lots of bird life, and very private.

Wonderful campsite in close proximity to Princes Highway and Wollongong area. A true campsite amongst the trees it truly felt secluded and away from it all.
We stayed at site 2, a short drive on the property. No issues with overhanging trees or any obstructions and was easy to drive down and turn around.
Plenty of privacy and secluded from all else, the running creek is a joy to be beside.
Fit pit provided, BYO firewood.
Small slope to the site but not major or inconvenient.
Would easily return and would be suitable for small groups of 2 or 3 to make a enjoyable camping experience.

This campsite has to be one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I have ever stayed, the host Melissa was so accommodating and helpful in the communication along the way. I will definitely be returning here.

Staying at Cobbers Rest was an absolute dream. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Perfect place to get away. Listening to the birds and the creek kept me occupied for hours. I will definitely be back ♥️

Cobbers Rest
We really enjoyed our weekend at Cobbers Rest. It’s a large site with a couple of beautiful gum trees surrounded by vibrant bush vegetation and a creek nearby. Very quiet with great night sky too. Beaches are 10-15min drive. We’ll try to come again! Thank you Mel for your hard work to make this place what it is!

Beautiful location, loved listening to all the happy ducks and frogs. Appreciated Mel's guidance about where to camp to stay dry, and had a great time at her suggested local spots at the Glenbernie Orchard and Maddens Falls.

We love visiting Cobbers Rest! Mel the host really went above and beyond to make it a great stay. We enjoyed the local bush walks and the apple shack down the road (which have very yummy pies and cider). The site was flat and well maintained with lovely bushland surrounding. The kids enjoyed looking for frogs and watching the black cockatoos play in the trees near our site. It was such a beautiful place to relax in nature.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cobbers Rest. It was so calm under the lovely old gums with so much bird life and a visit from a few kangaroos. Mel was lovely and very helpful and the site was beautifully maintained. We stayed on the higher site for ease in our big triple bunk caravan but had a good look around at the creek site which was also beautiful bushland with the babbling creek and a lot of space. We've already booked our next stay 😀

I loved our time here, it was quiet, private and very clean. The view was great. The hostess was extremely helpful and responds extremely quick. I would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting a quiet place to camp.

Fabulous weather and lovely private bush outlook set a great place for camping just south of Sydney. Great location for children to play in a safe natural setting. Commutation from Mel was first rate. Ideal for a mini break close to Madden Falls and Glenbernie orchard.

Cobbers really is restful. Nestled at the back of a beautiful bush lot, there is a lot of privacy by the creek. There is an alternate site for when cobbers is too wet after rain which is less private (can see main house) but still a pretty nice spot, but we were lucky enough to stay down by the creek, about 300m down a graded rd.
Beautiful squiggly gums, nice flat site, a fire pit and a big bag of timber, situated right next to a flowing creek which you can drift off to at night. A tiny bit of highway noise is a semi goes past, but not really noticeable unless you listen for it.
The site is large enough for a big group.
Obviously, no utilities eg toilet. Going through the two gates to come to and fro was a little cumbersome but we were only a short stay. If longer, not so much use of the gates!
I went with a mate but will be back with the family, for sure. You won’t regret staying at Cobbers. Highly recommend.
Oh, and proximity to majestic Maddens Falls and Darkes cider / orchard is a massive draw card.

This is a great camp! Super spacious and private. Lovely little creek running near the camp site (be careful of the leaches) Great addition having a fire pit at the camp. Highly recommend.

Melissa was a great host, coming out to meet us on the first night and leading us down in her buggy.
The original site was damaged by storm, so Melissa had offered up that warning and refund well in advance.
The campground is both spacious and private. It gets a bit damp right next to the creek along the perimeter of the site so I recommend setting up tents at a little bit of a distance.
The surrounding area has some great activitiy choices. Stanwell beach and Sea Cliff Bridge are only ~15 min away, while Glenbernie Orchard and Maddens Fall is just 2 min down the road.
For most Sydneysiders, this site is close enough distance to head out on a Friday night after work.
Would definitely come again at some point.

Melissa was a fabulous host with excellent communication and consideration of the campers.
After heavy rain the week before, Melisssa advised of an alternate location on the property. This was a dry area with an equally private bushy outlook.
Fabulous for the kids to ride their bikes and enjoy a nighttime walk.
It was a great location, a fabulous unspoilt environment to enjoy the outdoors a stones throw from Sydney.
Hope to return.

Overall the stay was good. When we first arrived there had been a lot of rain and the ground was too wet in the allocated camp spot near the river to take our car and off-road caravan.
Mel helped us to locate to a more suitable spot that was not as wet. The 3 days we stayed unfortunately the weather was not great, cloudy, windy and showers.
That did not stop us walking to a nearby waterfall that was pumping due to the rain, we also visited the apple orchard brewery and a short drive to a scenic lookout up and down the coast.
I can see if the weather was fine and the ground dry the spot near the river would be lovely. Just unfortunate we could not stay there, Mel did compensate us for the change in location.

This is what makes Cobbers Rest special:
Seclusion - You will feel like you’re in the middle of the bush even though you are only a short drive from Helensburgh and Stanwell tops.
A welcoming host - Mel is deservedly proud of the camping area she has created and will welcome you with a smile.
Nature’s symphony - Trills and swills of birds and bubbling creek.
What a joy to be able to get-away and enjoy peace and tranquility only 30mins drive from home.
