Please note that Hipcamp has increased my fees by 50%. This is on top of whatever they charge you. So contact me for special camping packages that include other optional extras that may save us money. Our property is located in the Blue Mountains, nestled right in the middle of the national park and all that the Blue Mountains bush has to offer. Gums, ferns, fresh air and swimming holes. I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups. Just a short drive from Sydney but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to. I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost. The property offers a number of sites that can accommodate various group numbers. Please message me if you're interested in booking one or more listings for your special get together. Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly, but no cats please. Also please be aware that we are surrounded by nature and part of nature are snakes and ticks. - we need to keep this environment for the wildlife. Please take all your belongings and rubbish with you when you leave. Leave it better than as you found it. Please be aware that due to our proximity to the road and rail that at times you will hear some traffic noise. But most times it is very quiet except for the frogs.

The Dam Camp

The Dam Camp features softly undulating grasslands beside a large dam. There is a timber jetty overlooking the water where you can chill out and take in the scenery. Minimum 2 night stay during peak times. Please do not camp near the shelters at the dam as these are for communal use. Group bookings here are by request only. This site is away from it all. You will only be surrounded by the beautiful Blue Mountains bush. The site are not completely level but good for veteran campers. You will have complete solitude to sit around your camp fire (fire bans permitting) all by yourselves whilst you star gaze. The camps are about 400m from the nearest toilet so if you agree and are not up for a walk bring your own toilet. You will still have access to the dam during the day for swimming and other activities. If I knew how to upload photos I would. Secluded bush camp site with west (sunset) views. May be impacted by wind if a westerly is blowing. Not suitable for large caravans. Recommended for camping, camper vans and off road small caravans only.

Nice site with privacy. Matt is so nice to welcome and introduce the facilities and nearby bushwalks. I recommend it to all my friends and will definitely go back again!

The West Camp
We enjoyed staying here for a few days while visiting and exploring the local area. Matt is a great host and was super helpful in finding the right spot for our set up. Matt had a great set up down at the dam including a rock wall climb over the dam, if only the weather was warm enough we would have loved to have a go! We found this place ideal for doing a number of hikes in the area.

Spot suited for those comfortable camping in a rustic setting. Feels like you could be anywhere in the Blue Mountains. People do walk past your camp in order to get to the lookout so not completely private if other campers choose to do that walk. Not ideal if windy as it can be a bit unrelenting. This aside you can enjoy an incredible sunset and night sky from this location. Wonderfully quiet during the day. Matthew is also a very attentive and considerate host. We loved chatting to him.

The Grassy Paddock
We had a lovely stay at the Grassy Paddock. It is close to the dam for swimming and water activities and had a clean drop toilet that was perfect for our needs. We did an incredible hike with Matthew that was awesome, (thanks again Mattew). Our groodle had a wonderful time and we enjoyed the peace and quiet, it felt like a National Park. The kids loved all the water activities. We will definitely be back.

The Middle Camp
We loved camping at Matt's campsite. It was spacious and quiet as all campsites are separated. We also loved the little lake and kayak. There's also a short walk to a cliff platform to watch the sunset. Matt was super friendly and guided us to different parts of his site. We'll definitely visit again!

The South Camp
We had a fantastic stay at Bonnie Doon! Matt was so welcoming , always available if we needed anything and brought us on an epic canyon walk where we experienced some beautiful pools and views. The campsite was easy to access , and campsites were far enough from each other that we all had privacy. The option to also rent a portaloo was great. Most of us were travelling from Sydney and it’s hard to get somewhere that is not a big drive from sydney , but is also secluded, and Matt’s place ticked all the boxes. Would highly recommend Matt’s campsite to anyone!

Had a great time staying and exploring at Matt's place. Property was easy to find and we were directed to the site upon arrival. Matt supplied us with plenty of wood and gave us some info to find some great lookouts. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our time at Bonny Doon West Camp it was a perfect location for our purpose of stay in the area away from the busy Katoomba area, even though it was cold and wet we had everything we needed, peace and quiet, a fire pit and availability of hot showers was wonderful Matthew and his wife are warm, friendly people very obliging and communication was prompt and easy Thankyou Matthew

I absolutely loved my stay here. Matthew is such a great host, he helped us get down to the cliffs for sunset and watch someone tight rope walk which was super cool!! Really beautiful environment and lovely land. Would defs recommend!

Great piece of land with amazing views, campers so well spaced out that you think you are there on your own. Matt is great and very helpful. Plenty of wood lying around for a fire and the activities on the dam are great for kids. Thanks Matt

The North Camp
We had a fabulous Easter group camp at North Camp. There was loads of space to spread out and we had our own communal fire pit area. The dam and climbing wall were a big hit and the water was warm enough for swimming, even in late April. There were great walks nearby and we were able to avoid the crazy Blue Mountains Easter crowds. Matt was very welcoming and a lovely host. Highly recommended.

The Dam Camp
Thanks Matt for a lovely stay! We stayed at The Dam site and it was perfect for a large group, we had lots of our own space and a fire pit. The outdoor shower was amazing and we made full use of the dam. Amazing sunsets and the best way to relax and recharge! Thanks again for having us, we will be back!

Excellent camp set up. Fire pit was awesome, you can purchase wood from Matt and we also had access to the best outdoor shower! It was definitely a highlight. Beautiful bush walks from the site, Matt offers guided bush walks amd the kids had so much fun using the kayaks and swimming in the dam. Come with everything you need and you can just kick back and enjoy the beautiful bush. Highly recommended!

Matthew is a great host. Welcomed us on arrival. Site’s good with heaps of privacy. That dam is the best to swim in. We even caught some fish.. The location was so easy for hikes on the property and just near other hikes. We will definitely be back a great place to visit.

An Unforgettable Weekend at Bonnie

I recently spent the weekend at Bonnie Doon at Bell, owned by Mat, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The property is absolutely stunning, with a huge dam that offers so much fun and relaxation. We swam in the dam, used the provided kayaks, slid down the water slide, jumped off the jetty, and even tried out the overhanging climbing wall—such a unique and fun feature! The site is well-equipped, with a water tank available to top up your bottles, and we hired access to the toilet and shower block. Speaking of showers, the outdoor shower was honestly the best I’ve ever had—an amazing experience in itself. This campsite is perfect for anyone looking for a beautiful and well-maintained place to enjoy nature. We had an incredible time and will definitely be back!

Absolutely perfect weekend away. The sites are clean and well maintained, surrounded by beautiful bush. The facilities at the camp ground are unreal! Including a swimming dam complete with diving platform, swing, canoes and even a rock climbing wall over the water! Matthew was lovely, he couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating. Will definitely be back
