Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable. Please be aware that some may not have great cell service and as noted in the amenity section we do not have WiFi at any of the sites yet. It is something we are looking into for the future. If something is urgent you should be able to pick up WiFi near the tenant house and a password can be provided for you to try.

Located beside our fishing pond on a 160-acre historic farm, this is a private campsite for tent campers and camper vans. Includes a fire ring, 2 picnic tables, a sani pot (maintained and cleaned weekly) and water available from the spicket beside the farmhouse. Views of Elk Ridge Mountain, wetlands and rolling pastures are a part of this experience as well as a variety of birds, deer and other wildlife. Parking is at your campsite (requires driving on dirt/grass road). Previously this was listed as not wheelchair accessible but we took my 88 year old father here and used his wheelchair to get him by the pond so he could fish. The weather and level of assistance one might need can play into this of course. We didn’t have a camping adventure but depending on the individual there is potential for someone in a wheelchair to be able to enjoy this experience. I’m happy to answer any questions or concerns as best as I can about considering this. We offer farm tours as we’re available. I have an older jeep I take into the pasture with the Highlands and you can get up close and even feed them treats. With the alpacas, we walk in with them and you can feed them treats as well. There is a small fee per person for this. We have a small camp store which will be available soon where you will be able to get eggs, candy, sodas, ice cream, handmade items and baked good and other things you may need or want. RV site offers hookups for WATER as well as 30 and 50 amp ELECTRIC. NO sewage dumping area. This is a 200 year-old farm. This site currently sits beside a former dairy barn which is being converted into an area for events. Improvements are being made to our RV sites. A new location will be in the field on the opposite side of the lane. Watch the sun rise and set from this spot. Trees and wildflower/pollinator areas are in the works and will be around the new area. At this time the site is still beside the dairy barn. We will update as things progress. When parking in this site, pull parallel with the front of the barn and leave the entrance open beside the end for us to access the back of the barn. We have Scottish Highlands, Black Angus, Alpacas, Peacocks and Chickens. Ask about the farm tour during your stay. As Im available I take guests out in the pasture with the animals to feed the Highlands treats from our Jeep and walk in with the Alpacas to feed them treats. This is offered at a reasonable fee. From sunrises to sunsets and starry open skies, this farm is a great escape for relaxation. You will hear animal sounds and see plenty of wildlife. Varieties of birds, deer, foxes, turkeys, eagles occasionally and other wildlife that make for a relaxing view or a great photo op!! Farm activities take place because we are a working farm. You will see tractors and other farm equipment and activities. We are doing upgrades and making positive improvements but are mindful of keeping your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Close to Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield, Appalachian Trail and many other historic, scenic, and recreational sites nearby offer so much to do. Tubing, kayaking, hiking biking as well as wineries are also nearby. We look forward to meeting new guests as well as our repeat guests and sharing a piece of our beautiful farm with you!! We’re adding a small camp store that will have a variety of items available as well. Cash app or cash is available. Eggs, baked goods, sodas, candy, ice cream, firewood, handmade items and things you might find you need or want. So excited for all to this and most of all, to give our guests an amazing stay. Nice, peaceful farm!! Weather wasn’t good when I was there but it was good for my travel plans. Kim and her husband were very responsive to a problem with a leaky water line. Fixed it quickly. I would recommend staying here.

Beautiful property close to wineries, Antietam and Harper’s Ferry. Conveniently available firewood, charcoal and eggs. We opted to do a tour of the property with Highland cows and Alpacas and it’s was a great time, our 2 year old puppy loved the cows. Will definitely plan a return trip in spring or fall.

Place was great, people were very pleasant and not overbearing, I reserved my spot online, followed the signs to my site, enjoyed my stay, and left, no check in or checkout hassle. Beautiful site, enjoyed a campfire, porta-potty on site, very convenient.

The pond site is great and the entire property is perfect for camping. We were there for only one night but would come back again to enjoy the region, including all of the nearby historical and natural areas. The directions to the site, and the hosts instructions, were very clear and easy to follow.

Peaceful Pond Tent Campsite
We tent-camped at Peaceful Pond for the second year in a row with my two sons (14 and 11) and our dog, and it was exactly the reset we needed. We’re from right outside DC, so the quiet out here felt almost unreal. Aside from the occasional cow mooing or dog barking , it was just us and the farm. The best part was the simple stuff: morning coffee by the pond, hanging around the fire, making s’mores, and having the kind of deeper conversations you only get when everyone’s finally off their screens. It’s the kind of place that slows you down without trying. Highly recommend for anyone looking for calm, space, and an easy, comfortable spot to camp.

We stayed at the pond campsite and it was everything we wanted. I was hoping it was slightly further away from cars as you can hear the occasional sirens and the particularly loud cars, but most of the sounds of traffic were gone and replaced by farm sounds. We loved hearing the cows talk to each other. The host was kind and polite, their general store has candy, firewood, hamburgers, etc. And it's 24 hours, honor system, so if we ran out of wood for our fire at 11pm we could walk right over and cashapp her, although we didn't need that this time. Will probably do that next time to save car space from bringing our own firewood. And there will be a next time! Only 16 mins away from Harpers Ferry, the grass/dirt road was easy for my tiny car to handle (though may be different in the rain), the Porta potty at our site was far enough away that we couldn't smell it or hear each other use it (not that it smelled much anyway, very well maintained, even had toilet paper), but close enough that it was extremely convenient. You couldn't hear any other campers or those at the air BnB on the property. I really have no bad things to say about this place.

We had a great time tent camping by the pond! It was so peaceful and quiet and the sunsets were beautiful. My son really enjoyed doing a farm tour and getting to feed treats to the cows and alpacas - highly recommended!

Peaceful Pond Tent Campsite
Kimberly the host is so nice, attentive and accommodating! We liked the campsite and enjoyed looking at the beautiful farm/landscape during our stay. The kids had fun fishing in the pond and caught two fish. Kimberly took us on a tour to feed the cows and alpacas on her farm, which was a highlight! The only negative was there is a close by neighbor, who has a bunch of dogs (15+ dogs) and you can hear them barking throughout the day and night. This unfortunately took away from the peaceful ambiance of the farm and disrupted our sleep. I know this is out of Kimberly’s control, but hopefully in the future the township will step in to at least have the dogs be quiet during the night. If you are planning on staying at this campsite, I recommend bringing ear plugs.

Kimberly’s place was absolutely beautiful and centrally located! Unfortunately I didn’t get to take full advantage as I had plans the entire time we were there but would 100% recommend! Everything was easy to find and clean! Only thing is this one site was super uneven so took quite a bit of adjusting to try and get the camper but that’s not a huge deal for me! I’d definitely stay again if I was in the area!

Very nice place. Very quiet and secluded. Animals nearby make it interesting and relaxing to sit in your chair and just observe the animal life. Met the host Kim on Friday afternoon Very nice and helpful. We will go back in the future. We wanted a nice close trip to shakedown our new camper. Successful weekend trip.

Easy to find and hitch up, super peaceful and relaxing. Appreciated the forewarning about flies and smells but both were extremely minimal. Nearly spent another unplanned night there, would definitely recommend.

This our 2nd stay here, with the 3rd already planned in 2 weeks. We are members of Big Cork Winery just down the road from here and enjoy going to their summer concerts. Camping here allows us to enjoy the concerts without the dread of the 1 hour drive home. I see us staying here quite often! The barn cats have definitely made themselves at home with us as we enjoy the camp fire at night. Mona has named them “Grey” and “Thing 1” and “Thing 2”. We’ll be back soon! -Pete & Mona-

The tent site next to the pond was very nice. 2 picnic tables and a port-a-potty were a nice addition. My 3 biggest issues were that the pond was smaller than I expected, I had no luck fishing, and the frogs surrounding the pond were LOUD at night. The host warned us about it ahead of time so I don’t blame her at all, I just wish I couldn’t hear them through my ear plugs. If you’re looking for a farm camping experience this is a great option - if you’re like me and want to do a considerable amount of fishing, I’d recommend something else.

We had a great time camping here. It was a nice, peaceful spot. It's a beautiful farm setting, it was clean and well maintained. Kim's tour of the cow pastures and alpacas is definitely worth it. There is wood, eggs, burgers, and steaks available for purchase, all at very reasonable prices. We would definitely come back if we are in the area.

We loved it here and would highly recommend Kim's hipcamp location and Alpaca/Cow tour to anyone. The pond stay was lovely (though be aware, you'll hear lots of animal creatures.) And it was close by to Harper's Ferry for tubing, Sherpherdstown for all the good eats, and Antietam for a bit of history. It was the perfect outdoor weekend. We'll be back!

Just came from a great stay at Kim’s farm. Cows to the left, alpacas to the right, couldn’t have picked a better location for the first two nights in our new rig. We enjoyed farm fresh eggs for breakfast and clean country air at night in a quiet setting. Having 50/30 amp service and city water available was a big plus. We were also fortunate to meet Kim and her husband and learn about the workings and history of the farm. We biked to a local state park and a country market and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will certainly be back when we are in the area again.

Peaceful Pond Tent Campsite
We loved camping on Kimberly's farm. The site is well-maintained right next to a gorgeous pond, very peaceful. The farm buildings are visible in the distance. We pitched two tents and had two picnic tables for cooking and eating plus a wooden spool table for morning coffee by the fire. Every morning the Highland Cows would work their way into the field next to us. They seemed to like posing for drawings and photos. Kim welcomed us the first day in person and responded quickly to any questions via text. The eggs available in the refrigerator are delicious! We took 2 dozen home with us. Harper's Ferry is 15 minutes away by car. We were thrilled with our 4 day camping experience and look forward to returning with our grandchild!

Our doggies loved meeting the Alpacas--these animals make such a wild clucking sound that had my puppies entranced. I didn't know till my visit there that my doggies spoke Alpaca! Kimberly pours her heart into this property. She is so gracious and accommodating. Her guests comfort and enjoyment at Happy Heart Highlands and Alpacas are her top priority. Be sure to arrive on a clear day to enjoy the starscape!

What can we say about our time at Kim’s place? Restful, relaxing, farm land as far as the eye can see, and oh, the animals! The Highlands are fluffy and sweet, the Angus cows are beautiful, and the Alpacas are adorable! Not to mention all the precious little calves! And peacocks too! We stayed at the Barnyard Bliss site and enjoyed every moment. We became friends with the barn cats who made for great company :) And the view of the cattle pastures was lovely. Kim is a fabulous host who goes above and beyond for her guests! We highly recommend her farm tour - the price is worth the adventure and the memories! One tip for guests - bring cash! Kim offers an array of items, including wood, eggs, charcoal and snacks at a reasonable price. Bu cell service could be iffy depending on your carrier, so the cash app may not work well. We had Verizon and struggled to get bars (although outside the issue with cash app, we didn’t mind and we enjoyed unplugging). No sewer was no issue. The KOA in Harpers Ferry was $20 to dump our tanks - easy breezy. Great camping spot. Don’t wait - book it! You won’t regret it. We will definitely be back!

"Alpaca Pasture" RV Site
Absolutely wonderful stay. Easy access, right next to the alpacas. Good electric/water access. Very nice little fridge with fresh eggs, farm raised beef, and some other goodies with a cash box. Kimberly even offers a farm tour where you get to feed the cows and alpacas. There are also some roaming cats that are very friendly. The location is very quiet and relaxing. Probably not appropriate for a very large rig, and the parking is dirt so it may get messy in heavy rain.
