This is your perfect choice
I spent Thanksgiving 2022 there. I made the best choice to do that. ILANA was such a wonderful host, the animals are so sweet and the dogs filled my heart. The RV is immaculate. I expected less bc it is on a farm, but.. she proved me wrong. The bed was extremely cozy, linens were exceptional.

Ilana is a dream host and her animals are so sweet and fun to frolic with. She is inviting, yet doesn't hover. A fine line to walk, but she makes things look easy! The camper is stocked with dishes and blankets and netflix, all the creature comforts. I will definitely return!!

We absolutely loved our glamping experience at Ilana's 2 The Rescue Animal Sanctuary! The RV was very big and perfectly accommodated our family of 5. The kids had an amazing time feeding the animals dinner, and getting to pet and walk with the animals! It was definitely an experience to remember, and we would love to return! Ilana was so nice and helpful, and was patient with our little kids when showing them how to feed the animals. We have already recommended the experience to friends, and will continue to recommend to anyone looking to book a fun family trip!
Our google maps took us to the house next door initially, but we fairly quickly realized it wasn't the right place, and discovered that there is actually a "2 the Rescue" sign outside the correct gate!

Llana is a wonderful host and it's very uplifting to experience her passion to rescue farm animals. It was our third visit with my daughter and her two sons. They are 1st and 3rd grade and they love going there to help feed the animals and harvest chicken eggs. We will definitely go back again.

Great And Invaluable Experience
2 The Rescue Animal Sanctuary is such a wonderful place, filled with genuine caring! I We stayed at 2 The Rescue last year for our daughter’s 3rd birthday weekend and she LOVED it! She loved it so much we came back again for her birthday this year! Miss Ilana made our daughter’s experience so wonderful again!!! The time she gets to spend and watch Miss Ilana care for the animals is priceless and then we stay in the RV and it is a lovely and fun RV! Thor, the coolest Dog ever always makes it beyond amazing! A truly unique and sincere experience that really models bringing kindness to this world!

We returned to our happiest place on earth, this time with the family, which brought many happy first experiences - camping at an animal sanctuary(!), the parents staying in the nicely appointed camper, my dad cuddling with a 3,500 lb steer (dear Ferdie)!, roasting strawberries with marshmallows while star gazing, spending quality time with Thor, and on and on and on. Ilana has truly created a sanctuary — and perhaps without intending to, making it a sanctuary for humans. This is where one comes to become better humans. Thank you, Ilana. Can’t wait to return!!!!

Memorable Animal Sanctuary Trip!
There is almost too much to put into words about this wonderful experience - and that's what it was; AN EXPERIENCE!
My partner and I wanted to get out of the city and be around nature for a dew days. This was our first time using HipCamp and I had been eyeing this listing for months. Well, you can't get much closer to nature than Ilana's sanctuary! The animals are all so sweet and beautiful. You fall in love with every single one, it's too hard not to. And Ilana as your host is everything and more: she's gracious, kind, compassionate about her mission for these animals, and HILARIOUS! We spent many hours chatting with her out in the animal yard, cool breeze ruffling up the chickens' feathers and the thick coat of Thor the Pyranese. Speaking of which, the other reviews are spot on. Give that good boy an inch, he'll take a whole mile and then some! Absolute best guardian dog you could ask for. And his sidekick, the new puppy Rocky, is a real character. Love them both to death!
Every dollar of your stay goes right back into the care of welfare of these animals. Do not hesitate to come visit the sanctuary and leave with a piece of your heart yearning to return. Thank you Ilana, Thor, Rocky, Prince, Luke, Misty, Faith, Sassy, Juliette, Romeo, Rusty, Nugget, Toby, and all the other critters we came to love on our stay. I know we will back without a doubt.

The Extraordinary is the Ordinary
This is where the extraordinary is the ordinary each day. During this visit I saw Tobie the tortoise chase several horses, and when a duck, Oreo, was laying an egg, her buddy Popcorn stopped eating to wait by her side to comfort and support her. And Thor, the huge Great Pyrenees attempted to get into my 2-seater. My dog and I are always better once we have spent time here. Thank goodness for 2 the Rescue Animal Sanctuary, thank goodness for Ilana!

Feeding the animals
My kids love the big white dog which weights 156 lbs. He was the guardien by our tent through out the night.
The farm owner Ilana was so nice to us. She gave us tons of advice about chickens since we have 9 chickens at home.
Feeding the animals was a very nice experience for kids and I.
The stay was worth the price.
Ilana also recommended us to the bfast restaurent which is very good in town.

Fun Times Camping With Animals
Llana is so welcoming. Our trip was the most immediate "let go of work" and unwind kind of recharge kind of camping trip. Her animal sanctuary is for abused/neglected or otherwise misunderstood animals and a place to restore a human soul. Her animals are all SO HAPPY and because of that their personalities shine through. Plus it was the cleanest stable/barn/pen areas I've ever seen. All of her proceeds from your camping donation go back to all of her animals. Pretty amazing. Easy commute from San Diego too.

We loved camping with the animals
What an amazing experience! I stayed here 1 night with a friend but I would have loved to stay longer. Unfortunately Ilana had a recent surgery and couldn’t give us a tour, however she greeted us, and had two farm helpers that were awesome and were able to show us around. We woke up at 6AM the next morning to help with all the farm chores, and were able to feed and interact with all the animals. They’re doing a wonderful thing here at this rescue and I highly recommend to visit.

Great time at Hipcamp!!!!
Oh my goodness!!! What a wonderful experience from the time we stepped out of the car to when we left. The place is kept immaculate. They feed these beautiful creatures the best food, they all have names, and are loved. ❤️ Camping was fun for the (4) of us, myself, 60 yrs. my son, his girlfriend and their 2 1/2 yr. old son. We enjoyed roaming the campus spending as much time as we could with the animals. The owners are there for your questions, (right away), and they leave you alone to enjoy your time. I would recommend this camp to anyone who loves animals and camping.

(5 stars) 2 The Animal Rescue is the most relaxing Airbnb you’ll stay at. The host Ilana is the best host I’ve ever had, was even nice enough to let me and my friends stay an extra day so we weren’t trying to rush out at 10am. Waking up on the rescue and being able to help feed all of the animals was an amazing experience. And all of the money spent goes straight to the animals on the property. So beautiful can wait to come back!!

Our favorite getaway with kids !😍
We love love love this place. 3rd year in a row for my daughter's birthday. Se is 9 and loves animals and picks coming here every chance she gets. I bring my both girls and my niece and We enjoy waking up at 5:30 am to help our host Ilana feed all the animals. The experience is very educational and fun for them. The RV is very spacious and comfortable. The days are relaxing and fun. The kids play all day and never get bored. The animals are all amazing. Thor of course is the greatest. Ferdinand and Romeo are the sweetest and love to get scratch with the brushes. The chickens are the cutest. Ilana is sweet and very welcoming. We love escaping to her farm to have fun with the animals, get out of the city, relax and get dirty.

Relaxing And Informative—Perfect!!
This was an incredibly last minute and spontaneous trip the day after Thanksgiving. I had never used Hipcamp before—I just knew I really wanted to go somewhere with my boyfriend and my dog on a whim, and I wanted to try something new. A quick Google search led me to this sanctuary!
Ilana is an INCREDIBLE host. So prompt and kind, and such a joy in person. She takes excellent cate of her animals and is so willing to talk to great lengths about every individual animal under her care. The animals were sooo well-mannered and I didn’t hesitate to wake up at 5:30AM to watch her feed everyone!
Her farm dog Thor, a Great Pyrenees rescue, is the SWEETEST giant I have ever met in my life. This was also the very first time our dog went off leash, and he had a wonderful time playing with Thor and greeting the horses. I cannot wait to go back. This was an experience of a lifetime.

Magical
This is an amazing Hipcamp on so many levels. The sunrise and sunset feedings with all the animals and incredible skies are magical. If you love animals up close, and enjoy supporting people who do all the hard work of rescuing and making sure they are fed, happy and health, then this is the place for you. I have never seen so many kid truly engaged as when they are around Illana and the animals. I highly recommend camping, glamping in the trailer or car camping (sleeping in your car) OR contacting Illana for a day tour.

The Zen of camping with a menagerie
This place is amazingly cathartic. 2 nights hanging with an array of critters with with an array of personalities and voices that really just soothe you. Morning coffee with the donkeys, goats and alpaca. Afternoon walk to visit the horses and ponies. An amazing variety of feathered friends and Thor the greeter, protector and 160 lbs of pure love. I really don't have any words to describe Ilana, the mama to all....... She's a born teacher, champion of the weak, believer in the good that can come from any situation and hostess extraordinaire. To be crystal clear..... If you have an affinity and love for animals and kindness, you got a visit.

Everything is Great, Harley!
What an incredible experience! A beautiful animal sanctuary nestled into the stunning hill and rock formations near Ramona. The drive in and out has vast vista scenic views. On arrival our wonderful host Illana greeted us, along with friendly guardians of the sanctuary: Thor and Frankie. if you arrive in time for feeding you will get to help feed the sanctuary's cows, horses, mule, donkeys, peacocks, chickens, ducks, goats, pigs and my personal favorite Sebastian the resident alpaca. Make sure to wake up early for the full farm experience of feeding as well and if you want to submerse yourself in farm sanctuary for a day offer to help Illana in other areas. Highly recommended. PS bring some carrots/apples for the crew with tails and you will have more friends when you leave.

Smaller on the Outside!
I booked the RV/camper for my sis, niece, and two cousins, and it could easily and comfortably accommodate more. The trailer is spacious, well-maintained, and clean, and feels new. The bathroom is small, but sensibly designed. Everyone had a great and comfortable stay, and this is a fantastic option to enjoy the sanctuary but also enjoy the comforts of home. Highly recommended!
