In 2026, we are excited to open our new campsite! Maes Gwennol Camping is a small, peaceful and spacious campsite set within a 30-acre ecological cohousing community, just 3 miles from Cardigan (Aberteifi) and 6 miles from the sea. Surrounded by meadows, wildlife and far-reaching views, this off-grid, low-impact campsite offers plenty of space to relax and reconnect with nature.
We steward our land to regenerate ecosystems and support wildlife. Public footpaths lead directly from the site through a secluded river valley, woodland and the wider landscape, making it an ideal base for walkers, nature lovers and anyone looking to experience the beauty of West Wales at a slower pace.
The campsite is also just a 20-minute walk from the National Eisteddfod site at Llantood, making it a convenient and peaceful place to stay during the festival.
We have 5 pitch areas, 2 separate campervan spaces and 1 bell tent, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of room between guests. Each pitch accommodates up to 8 people, you can decide how many tents and there is at least 10 metres between pitches. There is loads of space to play games and relax and the car park is in the field opposite.
Facilities are simple and low impact and include compost toilet and outdoor washing-up area. Campfires are welcome in our fire pit areas, allowing you to enjoy evenings under the stars.
We encourage guests to tread lightly and enjoy the land respectfully. As part of our low-impact approach, we do not provide refuse collection, so guests are asked to take home any recycling and non-compostable waste. Compostable materials can be placed in the compost toilet system. If you are travelling by foot or by bike, let us know and we can dispose of your waste- please leave it near the entrance to the campsite.
When available, we can offer seasonal vegetables, fruit, cider and eggs from our free-range chickens, produced within the community.
From the campsite you can easily explore Cardigan and the surrounding countryside...the beaches, coastal paths, the Teifi River and Teifi marshes reserve and wildlife of the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coast. Whether you're visiting for the Eisteddfod, exploring the coast, walking local footpaths or simply seeking a peaceful place to camp, Maes Gwennol offers a simple, spacious and nature-focused camping experience in a beautiful corner of West Wales.

Nestled in the Pembrokeshire countryside less than 2 miles from the medieval walled town of Pembroke on the the boundary of the Pembrokeshire Coast national Park. We are located in the perfect location for exploring the blue flag beaches, Stackpole National Trust, Bosherston Lilly ponds, The famous St, Govans Chapel and the never ending walks, climbing, and cycling routes in the area. Our large and spacious 5 metre Bell tent is Supplied with the basics of 2 single pop up beds with mattresses, solar lights and matting. set within a field. Close nearby parking in the adjacent to the campsite but keeping it car free. The tent pitches are located in the same area but spaced apart and just follow your mowed path to your pitch. we have shower and toilet facilities. Please note than we ask campers to shower only between the hours of 3pm-10am as the shower and toilet building is also used by cafe customers. We have an award winning café serving homemade brunch, lunch and our famous cakes. Using local ingredients wherever possible and often homegrown. we also have a farm stand to purchase fresh local fruit and vegetables, our own Gallows honey, free range eggs and firewood. The coastal town of Tenby is less than 10 miles away.

Hello and welcome to Llwyn Celyn’s “Mehefin Coed” and a little bit of paradise, we really don’t want to share.
June and I (Laurence) Tree hope you enjoy your stay in our vintage motor home, parked up in a setting that invokes (we hope) the off road country lane hide away meets beach and secluded back garden feel.
Llwyn Celyn – Like hundreds like it, is a small holding, a farm of some 12 acres, these days it is still farmed, though very quiet with only the sound of sheep from our family folk, and is set midst a small hamlet of ten other holdings.
Llwyn Celyn’s “Mehefin Coed” is situated in the heart of Pembrokeshire’s National Park – The Preseli Mountain Range and birth place of Wiltshire’s “Stonehenge” and their blue stones, to which the quarries can be seen and walked to a few minutes away from Mehefin Coed.
From our pictures, we hope, they give you a sense of relaxation and to forget the World outside away from our part of the UKs wonderful Pembrokeshire.

Had a lovely two-night stay in Tŷ Touareg at Maes Gwennol. It was absolutely perfect for what I needed – a peaceful place to relax and unwind.
The compost loo and facilities were clean and well looked after, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. As a nature lover, it was a real treat to see and hear swifts, swallows (of course), barn owls, tawny owls, and bats during my stay.
The campsite is also in a great location, just a short drive from Teifi Marshes, Poppit Sands, Mwnt, and Cardigan, making it an ideal base for exploring both Ceredigion and north Pembrokeshire.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and would happily recommend Maes Gwennol to anyone looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway.

What a gorgeous campsite! Generous flat pitches, so much space in between, tall grasses with paths mown in between areas. The site is beautiful and beautifully looked after. There is loads of useful local information and no officious laminated signs. The dome was perfection - comfy beds, tons of space, cozy woodstove and plenty of outside space for fires and cooking, etc. Really thoughtful to have picnic tables and benches on each pitch and a supply of firewood. It was just dreamy, all of it.

Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful settings and the best woodland walks to Pembroke castle. Also individual fires and communal fire pits. I could have stayed a week! The bunker was clean and had everything you could need.

We loved our stay in The Bunker at Glan y Mor! The bunker itself was spacious enough for the two of us, warm, and the bed was very cosy. It was stocked with everything we needed for cooking, and the wood stove inside was a nice touch. Its location on the campsite also made it feel more private, which was great. The firepit outside the bunker and handy access to firewood really added to our stay.
The campsite is nicely landscaped and set out, and maintains a natural woodland area. The amenities are well laid out, well maintained and high quality. The radio playing ClassicFM in the toilet block was a nice touch. There is a communal fridge and firepit, as well as other basics such as a kettle. The campsite was quiet - we had no issues with noise even though the site was busy throughout our stay.
Cath and Adam were friendly and responsive, welcoming us to the campsite and recommending us nearby places to visit.
The campsite is within easy walking distance within the centre of Pembroke Dock, and is also centrally located to a range of points of interest in the region, making it a great base during your stay.

Lovely, well appointed camp! Great facilities and hidden gems to discover once you are there! Pizzas are delicious and a truly magical spot looking towards the Priselli hills. Spa was delightful, pigs are friendly and the hay bale barn was a big hit with the kids! Highly recommend.

Great facilities - kitchen and bathroom super clean and it was so nice to have such comfy beds. The tent gets really cosy thanks to the stove - if it’s a bit on the chilly side. It rained a lot while we stayed but it didn’t spoil the fun and we stayed warm and dry.

Weekend Trip to Hideaway Escapes Whitley Farm
We have one life, a blink of an eye in time.
Inhale and ask yourself how you fancy waking up on a frosty February morning?
How about, a dome, a tent, or caravan, next to a river, where the sky is so dark at night, that the stars appear like beacons above. And I got to experience this on route, using a compost toilet honouring this planet we have been given that facilitates life.... And then, returning into your beautiful tent, lighting a fire like a true girl.
Bunnies hopping past when venturing out later to make the coffee of the day, breathing fresh air as you listen to morning chorus of birds waking up at different times.
And if you, like we did, had the pleasure of experiencing wetter weather too, you will get to experience that the rain drops sounds different on top of the dome, on top of the tin shower & toilet and on the felt roof of the kitchen...
We had a lovely, earthly experience!

I honestly couldn't find fault with this slice of heaven. A wonderful location, very private. I stayed here by myself for most of the break and felt relaxed and safe.
The Shepard's hut is warm, with everything you would need. The bed is very comfortable. Along with the Shepard's hut there is a separate converted horse box as your personal washroom (with flushing toilet). There is a picnic table on a large area of mown grass and separately a fire pit with bench seating. There is also a bush bath. Wood for all fires is inclusive. All off grid but with a gas cooker, refrigerator, led lighting and charging points for tec items.. You really wouldn't know it!
I had a query on my first night and received a very prompt reply.
I found it so lovely I extended my stay by two days.

We spent 4 nights at top of the woods. I have to say every aspect of our stay was absolutely first rate. The land is set a beautiful Welsh valley but not too far away from Cardigan. We stayed in a beautiful geodesic dome style tent, with a covered kitchen, wood burner, and actual beds. It was somehow out in the wilderness and yet all the comforts of home. We made loads of memories and came home feeling relaxed and refreshed. Soo and Jon were excellent hosts and made me and my family feel right at home. Top of the woods is a definite must.

Lovely hut which had everything we needed, it was clean and well equipped and we loved the welcome Welsh cakes and local beer. It was so quiet and peaceful with the door opening out across fields. Wd recommend getting the bus from Pentcwm to Solva and walking back along the coast path, stopping off for an ice cream at Pointzcastle.

I don’t know where to start, everything about this place was wonderful. I mean we didn’t want to leave, ever! I booked the GeoDome as a surprise for my GF and she was overwhelmed with the amount of effort Lesley had gone to, to make such an amazing place. Lesley and Sarah provided everything we needed in our stay at the Penny Bun. They have two well stocked honesty shops so you don’t really have to leave the site. Plenty of animals to make friends with, such as the Emus and Tortoise. And btw the Geo Dome pictures that are advertised don’t do it justice, it’s way bigger than it looks and so many little touches just make it so lovely. Lesley has created a little hidden paradise on the outskirts of Narberth, I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Can’t fault this campsite.
Second time visiting with friends and family and it was perfect. Lots of space, quiet in the evenings and just a perfect little camp in a beautiful location that’s only a short walk into town.
Love the little things left for us such as dish soap, fire wood, candles and all the stuff we needed to cook.
Hosts are always super friendly, polite and happy to help!
Always a pleasure visiting! Look forward to our next stay!
