Camping and glamping on a Pembrokeshire farm near Narbeth

A peaceful rural location in the centre of Pembrokeshire makes Hideaway Escapes at Whitley Farm a good place for both camping and glamping. But it’s the neighbours that make it great. There’s Mable the pig, Morwenna the donkey, and Twix the pygmy goat. This is a family-run place with farm animals and a friendly feel. The camping field, in particular, is great for campers with kids thanks to views of the animals and a play area in the middle. But couples are welcome here too. They are rather well catered for in fact – especially in the eclectic mix of glamping accommodation, which includes a secluded geodesic dome with a four poster bed.

The dome and the yurt are the properly plush glamping options. Each has its own composting loo and hot water shower outside, as well as a well-equipped kitchen shack. There’s also a great-value vintage caravan, christened Waterlily. She’s not just retro but a bonafide baby blue bolthole, built to 1970s standards. She’s small but perfectly formed if you want a taste of camplife from that era. She has her own kitchenette and, like the other glamping options, a compost toilet outside. But bedding is not supplied and if you want a hot shower, you’ll need to use the communal ones on the campsite; those are a short walk away.

The camping field is home to 13 spacious pitches, all dog and campfire friendly. Two have electric hook up too. There are flushing loos and colourful shower rooms in little cabins alongside a washing up area and honesty shop. There you’ll find milk and basic supplies (which, by the way, includes ice creams and hot coffee). For more than that, head for nearby Narbeth. It’s only about a mile but there’s no good walking route so you’ll need to take the car. In fact, four wheels in this location are essential as there’s lots to see in every direction. There’s the beach at Amroth five miles to the south and Tenby a little further. The Preseli Hills are half an hour north and it’s the same distance west to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Stay in our luxury off grid stargazer dome with four poster bed and log burning stove. You will have complete privacy and your own fire pit, picnic bench shower and dry toilet. Tucked away at the foot of our hay meadow with lovely outlooks. Sit round the fire pit and enjoy the peace and quiet

A beautiful small camping and glamping site surrounded by countryside yet within easy reach of the beaches and only 1 mile from the eclectic former market town of Narberth. We have many friendly animals to enjoy including donkeys, alpacas, pigs, tortoises rabbits and goats. Peaceful family site ready to welcome guests.
Nearby attractions

Hideaway Escapes at Whitely Farm is well positioned for exploring all of Pembrokeshire. The market town of Narbeth is about a mile from site and well worth a wander. The closest beach is Amroth, six miles from site. Further west along the coast is Saundersfoot where there are more facilities and, further still, is the well-known seaside resort of Tenby (12 miles from site). Folly Farm Adventure Park and Oakwood Theme Park are both around six miles away. There’s greater walking and outdoor adventure opportunities in both the Preseli Hills (12 miles) and in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on the west coast (18 miles).

Food and drink

There’s an honesty shop on site where you can buy milk and other basics. Narbeth, just a mile away, has a high street full of independent shops selling local produce including the recommended Ultracomida Deli, Wisebuys for fruit and Planetamica. There’s also a good range of places to eat out. Gastropub The Angel Inn and Mad Tom’s Seafood Restaurant are recommended. The site is close enough for takeaways to delivered from Narbeth too.
