Waunbayvil wild camping. A teeny pop up campsite for private groups. Come alone or bring friends and family. Just 10 mins drive from the sea at Ceibwr on the Pembrokeshire coast. The space Waunbayvil camping is set in its own secluded spot on 40 acres of private wildland and woodlands in the Pembrokeshire national Park, with a pond and views of the stunning landscape. It is the perfect getaway, a place to re-connect with nature and your loved ones in the most peaceful place away from it all. This is not a big campsite with lots of other people, you can book the whole campsite for a private group, or otherwise, only 2 or 3 families very spread out at a time. The pitches are set out with plenty of space in between. There is parking for cars or campervans, and the camping area itself is not accessible for vehicles, making it a lovely car free space with nothing but nature all around you. You will need to carry tents and equipment up to the camping area., only around 100m from the parking area. (We have a wheel barrow for you to use)We also have a small hard standing area for campervan. There is a compost loo, a washing up area, and an off grid shower shack. It is set in the most beautiful surroundings, teaming with wild life and filled with wild orchids and many different species of grasses and wildflowers. It is unique and a treat for people who love natural habitat. The sea is about two miles away where there are spectacular cliff walks for many miles on the Pembrokeshire coast path, and beautiful beaches for swimming. Bring logs and kindling with you. (Can be bought from any garage) If you bring a cool box we can top you up with frozen ice packs. Just ask. I loved the Boy John. There was so much attention to detail in everything on board. Very comfortable bed and plenty of lighting. Also clear instructions around the site, regarding water, showers, toilets etc. All facilities very clean. Nothing compares to having your own little bit of coastline !!

David and Jasper went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care off. The campsite is near town, just a 20 minutes walk along the river. The facilities at the campsite are primitive, but adequate and clean. Loved the hot showers! We stayed in a yurt and that was very comfortable and very well equipped. Our kids (and the other kids at the campsite) spent most of the time in and around the tree with a swing, so nice! They called it the best campsite ever! Hope to come back one day!

We loved it. The meadow is beautiful and during our week in May we awoke to the sound of cookoos every morning - joy. We were in the smaller Yurt which was really warm and comfortable. David was really available and bought us wood for the fire when we needed. Classic camping and a wonderful escape from the city! Thanks David.

Weekend Trip to Smugglers Cove Boatyard

The site is in a fantastic location, the boat had everything we needed, the site facilities were very good, the woodburner was wonderful, we loved seeing occasional trains go past, our reactive rescue dog loved having the beach areaa to himself. A problem was sorted out within half an hour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on The Hannah! The location is absolutely stunning and the boat stay was a brilliant change from our usual tent camping. After a few bumped heads from the lower cabin inside, we quickly got used to life aboard. The boat is well equipped with plenty of your basics and some thoughtful additions (including a cool looking radio/CD player). Sophie was a brilliant host and very quickly sorted out a query for us (thank you!!!). Pretty much all of our time, though, was spent outside soaking up the stunning views, watching the birdlife (including one the local Ospreys!) and cooking on the firepit. In the evenings we regularly heard a Nightjar and Tawny Owls, it really was wonderful. The information pack emailed to us recommended a train trip from nearby Penhelig station to Barmouth on the Cambrian Coast Line. We did this and would recommend this too! Beautiful journey with gorgeous views on either side. If you’re looking for a break away from the usual, it’s definitely well worth a stay at Smuggler’s Cove.

This was absolutely right up our street - quirky, amazing views, relaxedn with a great ambience from the record player (cant beat a bit of Matt Monro!). HIghly recommend as an unusual stay away from it all. Our dog loved it as well.

We have stayed in the Pheasant Lodge in this beautiful location and it was exactly what we need it. The Lodge was home to home, super clean and well equipped with everything we need it. Graham and Alison are great hosts, nothing too much trouble. The jacuzzi was amazing, perfect place to relax while watching the beautiful sunset over the canal. Yelvertoft was not too far and we loved the delicious homemade sausages from Alex's deli for our grill. We wish we could stayed a bit longer, truly enjoyed our stay.

To all the savvy readers out there, do yourselves a favor and reserve a spot at this gem of a place. Graham & Allison are the ultimate hosts, and I can't stress enough how delightful our stay was. We're definitely planning a return trip and can't wait to reunite with Allison. The hot tub was a dream, I even managed to reel in some decent-sized fish! The lodge was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Top-notch comfort all around.
