Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.
Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.
We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!
We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.
Litter:
You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible.
Pitches to be left as you found them.
Noise:
Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning.
No loud music is to be played at any time.
Children:
Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area.
Dogs:
Must not to be left unattended.
Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

Pick up a map before you arrive, then disappear for the day on a mountain bike, making your way along the Ceredigion Coast Path or the banks of Afon Teifi – the second longest river in Wales – or Afon Aeron. If you prefer two legs to two wheels, you can pick up the Ceredigion Coast Path from Llanrhystud, a 15-minute drive from the site.
For drinks, there's a bar on site open between Thursday and Sunday. For food, meanwhile, you can pick up some supplies for the barbecue at Tregaron.
And then? Relax in the evenings by turning your eyes to the stars, soaking up the dark skies above the site to see some of the wonders of the Milky Way…

Fresh organic eggs always available in the summer! We never use any pesticides and keep the grass long for hay cutting. This means the wildlife is abundant. The camp is located next to woodland so we may ask you not to have a campfire in extremely dry weather. Although there is no WiFi the site does have a 4g signal, please check the location with your provider, we are with EE.

We had a fantastic stay. John the campsite owner was incredibly helpful, recommending local highlights and even put us up in one of the yurts when the weather turned. A real highlight is the viewpoint from the rock across the lighthouse and ocean. Highly recommend this site.

Cedar cabin was absolutely immaculate it was nice and cozy on a hill which gave it the best view! The lake is incredibly stunning and filled with fish! My son also went fishing there and sadly had his fishing rod pulled in by a fish but the next morning the host went and found it. The host was so kind and welcoming 5/5 stars would highly recommend!

We loved staying at this little campsite, such a quirky beautiful spot. Our daughter especially liked all the little hidey holes that were made by all the hedges.
Jane and family were lovely hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Loved their beautiful dog Nells who was very friendly and loves to have a frisbee thrown for her.
We had the campsite to ourselfs which was a fantastic bonus. Compost toilet was kept clean and tidy as was the shower.
Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Really cool, very unique camp site. We stayed in the Hideaway which seemed like the most private pitch, which was great for us and our dog! The kitchen hut was very handy. We loved the eco friendly features - toilet and shower facilities are very basic but do the job well. Howell was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again!

WOW! We have just returned from a 3 night stay, and I’m hesitant to write this… only because I don’t know if I want the world to discover this little haven we will now forever adopt as our own, BUT that would be selfish, and Peter deserves all the recognition for the pure love that has been poured into every detail of this little, beautiful campsite. The site is well taken care of with little trails that lead you to little secluded spots and to the larger field that is immaculately conserved with trees surrounding the space. We recommend you use an app that helps you identify all the birds because the bird song there is truly wild, loud and varied. There is a lovely little lake at the bottom of the site that is being preserved for the wildlife, with so much activity to be witnessed even in the short time we spent walking around it. The toilets are regularly maintained and super clean. The showers were hot, clean and in a separate block to the toilets. All brought together with a really well designed aesthetic as well as made incredibly functional. Both carry through the eco ethos and are stocked with environmentally considered products in case your own dont fit the bill. Peter (aka Grumpy Farmer who is an absolutely beautiful soul) was always on hand to come and help if need be, always seemingly working on the site on more beautiful features, projects that work with the campsite, like food banks, community growing and forest school. We will return. Yearly.

Awesome campsite. Pitches are spread out so much that you can almost forget there’s anyone else on site. There is a fantastic little swimming pool which the kids loved. The reservoir down the road has mountain bike trails and plenty of water sports. The individual toilets and cooking area at each pitch are a lovely addition.

Absolutely delightful stay steeped in the quiet rolling hills of Carmarthenshire. The dome is set away from the rest of the site so you're surrounded by fields and woodland. Michael is a very attentive and lovely host. The dome felt very spacious even with 4 of us in it. Beds were super comfy and we loved having a campfire into the evening. The showers and compost toilets were some of the best we've used as seasoned campers. We loved the ducks and chicks and the butterflies in the lavender and dancing through the fields. A beautiful place to find peace and rest. Thank you Michael 🙂

Where to go
South Pembrokeshire
This is the most popular part of the national park, where perfectly positioned resort towns like Tenby and Saundersfoot pull in crowds keen to see the area’s fabulous beaches. Those seeking tranquillity in South Pembrokeshire can do so at striking locations like the castle-flanked surf spot of Manorbier, the dramatic seabird paradise of Elegug Rock Stacks, and vast Freshwater Bay. The Saundersfoot to Tenby stretch of coast is covered in campsites—Manorbier and Freshwater East have quieter sites.
St Davids & Around
Ancient Britons dubbed St Davids area a “thin” place, where the gap between earth and heaven was small. Bounded shores of bizarre rock formations, coves, and dreamy fishing villages, this remains a spiritual spot, full of prehistoric sites. It’s a great experience to camp out on the crag-dotted grasslands around Britain’s westernmost city, St Davids, and Wales’ westernmost headland, St Davids Head. Here, several scenic coastal campsites are available, and St Davids’ exquisite cathedral is nearby.
Preseli Hills
The Preseli Hills are a little different from the coastal Pembrokeshire most people are acquainted with. This unkempt, barren range has scarcely any settlement, and is most notable for possessing one of Europe’s greatest densities of prehistoric monuments, along with its adventurous hiking. North Pembrokeshire’s Newport, 10 miles southwest of Cardigan, is the northern gateway to these rugged inland moors. Pitching near Mynachlog-ddu puts you near the Golden Road hike, which traverses the Preseli’s ridge via umpteen ancient sites.
Cardigan Bay
Wales’ biggest bay, curving north from North Pembrokeshire’s Strumble Head to Southern Gwynedd via Ceredigion, was where camping in Wales originally took off. Pembrokeshire’s part of the bay is peaceful outside the main towns of Fishguard and Newport (though these spots do offer special sandy beaches too). Go bottlenose dolphin-watching or walk the Wales Coast Path, traversing solitary headlands such as Strumble Head and Cemmaes Head. The Pembrokeshire stretch’s campsites are mostly small affairs with big bundles of character.
