(Please note: no children or dogs). Gwersyllfa Glyndŵr Campsite is a small, peaceful, family run and adult only site for walkers and cyclists. Located within walking distance of the historical market town of Machynlleth, we're a great base for exploring all that rural Mid West Wales has to offer. We're on the Glyndŵr National Walking Trail and the Wales Coast Path. There are many cycling trails of all levels nearby - from the Lon Las and Dyfi Bike Park to Ystwyth and Elan Trails.
A short bus ride from us are the Snowdonia National Park, Cader Idris and beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay.
Our guests love the outdoors but like a little relaxation at the end of a day's activities, so we offer a some home comforts in the communal camping facilities barn which has a kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave and washing up area as well as an indoor seating area on the mezzanine level. Hot showers and toilets are available in the wet rooms also situated in the barn. You can unwind under the stars in the communal campfire area next to the camping field, which also has a shelter for cooking with camping stoves.
There's an outdoor sink on the camping field for cleaning muddy gear and a place to clean your bike if needed.
The nearby town offers independent shops, an art gallery and historical buildings. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, grocery shops and a petrol station where you can top up on supplies.
You'll get the best of both worlds at this secluded campsite which overlooks the Dyfi Valley's stunning scenery whilst being within a stone's throw of local amenities.

The incredible views of the Dwyryd estuary and Portmeirion, make this small wild camping site, with horse box glamping in Snowdonia, a really unique space. It can also be booked by individual sites or entirely by your group.
An ideal location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer. Close to beautiful beaches and mountains. Or just stay put and enjoy the view! Ideal for individuals or small to medium size groups.
There is a horse box that sleeps 2 on a high bed above the cab and has a kitchenette/dining space. There are 4 camp areas, one is quite large. All are less than 25 metres from the parking area and there are very basic facilities, a compost toilet and a tap. This is usually a self check in site and all sites need to be left clean and tidy for the next guests.
This is a simple and unspoilt site that offers a tranquil setting, with sounds of nature and amazing views.
There are many beautiful beaches and lakes close by, castles, steam trains, mountains, historic buildings and pilgrim churches, water sports, national cycle route and the coastal path. Within 20 minutes by car, bus or train are Harlech, Porthmadog, Tremadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog (zip world). Snowdon walk is half an hour’s drive away. Plenty to do!
For local services, 2 miles away in different directions are two villages. Talsarnau has a pub and Penrhyndeudraeth has 2 small supermarkets, post office, several cafes, restaurants and takeaways, 2 pubs and a petrol station. Porthmadog is a few minutes further by car, bus or train and has extensive services and facilities.
The property is accessed via a steep narrow lane, with passing places, about 1/2 mile from the A496 road. By public transport, there is a train station and a bus stop in Llandecwyn on the main road. National cycle route 8 passes our property gate.
Llyn Tecwyn lake is a few minutes walk up the lane, with Llandecwyn church above that. A little further away are more lakes and reservoirs, the Rhinog mountains with Bryn Cader Faner and a temperate rain forest Coed Felinrhyd. All are lovely hikes from our property.

Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales.
There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).

We're a tiny camping and glamping site with just 5 camping pitches, a traditional Mongolian Yurt and 2 bell tents. This is the most extraordinary site we’ve stayed at in the best way possible. We had the place to ourselves, and it’s an absolutely gorgeous slice of Welsh paradise. The craftsmanship around the site is phenomenal, especially the roundhouse, it’s full of quirks and we felt right at home. The rest of the amenities on site have been built with so much charm, it’s hard not to notice how hard these guys have worked to create a truly wonderful campsite !
There’s an onsite pottery studio which produces cups and bowls, which are available for purchase. The owner (WY) is so lovely, she gave us the tour of her studio, and even brought us a couple of her hand crafted pots extra to accompany our purchase, along with some little flowers for our daughter. It really made our day.
Thanks so much to everyone on the site, can’t wait to visit again :)

Our second stay and even more perfect, the camper van pitch is secluded and quiet, the decking and fire pit beautiful touches for relaxing outside of the van. We were very pleasantly surprised at just how warm the showers were despite the wind and cold and the roundhouse is lovely. To top it all it’s easy to get to the coast path and marvel at the dramatic coastline. 💕

Elizabeth's campsite was such a great find. It is in a beautiful, tranquil setting with lush, flat grass pitches. The washroom and kitchen facilities are excellent, very clean and plenty of hot water. If we come to the Machynlleth Music and Art festival again next year we will definitely use this site again. Please be aware that the single track up to the farm campsite is uphill, narrow quite windy and not well signposted, probably best navigated first time in daylight, however the drive up is well worth it.

We loved staying here. It was a great pitch for our van. The round house was a real treat, especially when the rain set in one evening and we were able to chill out in the cosy and dry.

Wonderful place, perfect to reconnect to the nature as all you can hear are birds and grasshoppers and the service is unpredictable (which is an advantage for me). Toilets, showers and all common spaces very clean and kept in great condition.

Gwersyllfa Glyndwr campsite is a perfectly gorgeous little campsite. It's set above Machynlleth off a narrow country lane (just off the Owen Glyndwr long distance trail). The site is very peaceful and has wonderful open views.
The barn has great facilities with two super wet room bathrooms, lovely hot powerful showers! There is also a well equipped kitchen area which even has basic crockery and cutlery and a fridge. There's also a mezzanine room with sofas providing shelter should it be wet. A communal fire pit too.
We absolutely loved this idyllic campsite.

What a magical spot for our first trip in our new to us (but very old) camper. Toilet and showers were beautiful and clean, the roundhouse is a great space and the camping field and lighted decking in the quarry just lovely. No mobile phone signal apart from on the bench and this made it even better. Would recommend for a real getaway from it all site!

Out of our 5 campsite trip, this campsite was our number 1 site and we will definitely be revisiting again.
Our camper stay at Ruth’s was fantastic. We were greeted on arrival by Johnno (apologies if incorrect name). Their site is really private and peaceful.
The campsite had some great features that made our stay that bit more memorable - a communal roundhouse for campers to gather, a solar powered shower (by far the BEST shower we experienced this road trip - spacious cubicle, very clean, nicely lit up), a phone bench where you could just about get 4G which made you conscious of how much time you spent on your phone, along with a campfire, tree rope swing & quirky compost toilets.
The decor and build of the site was also incredible - really fit the happy camper vibe.
