Glangwdi Glamping offers furnished bell tents in sight of Pen y Fan, the Brecon Beacon’s highest peak. For some, that alone will be reason enough to book but for others there are further temptations. The site is 2.5 acres. Take, for example, Glangwdi’s pygmy goats. There’s a daily opportunity to meet these little farmyard friends and there are ducks and chickens too. And, as if that’s not enough, this flat field in the foothills is just five miles from bustling Brecon and a short walk from woods, waterfalls and wild swimming. The bell tents themselves are yet another attraction. There are six; each pitched around the edge of a neat field on a family farm. Woven hazel fencing ensures a little privacy for each camping couple or family – this place is equally suited to both. Children will love the cute pygmy goats and adults… well let’s face it, they will love the pygmy goats too. But they’ll also love the fact that you can hike straight from site to the top of 886-metre Pen y Fan and its twin peak Corn Du. And who wouldn’t enjoy a campfire under the stars, in the shadow of the Beacons? The five and six metre bell tents are each kitted out with beds, bedding and log-burning stoves. Outside, each has the off-ground fire pit and outdoor seating regular glampers will have come to expect but there’s an added extra too: a private camp kitchen, that’s also canvas covered. It provides a sheltered place to cook and dine when the weather’s wet and welcome shade when this open field is bathed in summer sun. On such days, this is just the kind of scenic spot that could tempt you to stay on site all day but if you’re feeling adventurous the mountains will soon lure you away. Hiking, biking and wild swimming (try Llyn Cwm Llwch on way up top) are all on offer here. Closer by, Held Wood is a local favourite for walks with a series of small waterfalls within it. The Taff Trail offers well-signposted routes – towards the peaks in one direction or along country lanes to the market town of Brecon in the other.

Fabulous site. Small, but pitches well spaced so even if there were people on all pitches it wouldn't feel busy or loud. Geodome was very comfortable with heater and proper bed. Me and my boyfriend spent two beautiful nights here in the domes. Katrin is simply wonderful super helpful and just a phone call away if you need anything. The dome was just perfect, beautifully clean and came with everything you could need to make the weekend perfect. The cinema dome was fantastic we used it two nights. The showers and toilets were so clean and had shampoo conditioner shower gel toothpaste and deodorant. The heater in the shower was perfect for the cold mornings. The hot tub was fantastic super clean and got really hot, we struggled the second night to get the fire going for the hot tub but with just a text message to katrin she was there sorting it for us with her beautiful little dog woody who came to say hello. There were two heaters inside the dome to keep you warm, also in the chest at the bottom of the bed there were cups, cutlery, mini table, fire starter, pans, bbq utensils, and much more to make your stay homely. The breathtaking views from the domes are just magnificent. 100% will be returning to the site with the kids and the dog. We can’t wait to come back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Location is excellent. The views are stunning despite our stay being on a more overly cloudy/misty day/night. Close to Brecon town centre and easily reached by taxi both ways. Craddock Golf Course nearby was also very welcoming where we watch the 1st half of the rugby before heading into town. We did message a couple of times via Hipcamp about the pitch but didnt get a reply. However, when we arrived we were happy with the pitches available. We just picked our own and set up. Overall we were really pleased and would definitely return.

The Cider Site is a small family run camping site, which made it feel very intimate and homely. The views are great and you feel relaxed and part of nature. We stayed right at the end of the season (the last weekend of October), so it was quiet and the Cider Bar was closed.....but we'll be back another time to sample the home made Cider :). The facilities are good - warm shower, towel rail, toilet. This site is on the border of Hereford and Abergavenny, so perfectly placed to explore either, which we did! Great location! Great find! :)
