If you’re lucky, you’ll catch at least one of the breathtaking sunsets at Red Sky at Night Campsite near Monmouth. If not, there’s always a stunning view of rolling hills all around. At night, the skies become a dazzling canvas of stars under one of Wales' official Dark Sky Reserves.
This family-run camping field on our laid-back livestock farm is full of rustic charm. Pitch wherever feels right—tent or camper van. Dogs welcome but must always be kept on a lead and cleaned up after (dog waste bin on site, otherwise we are a leave no trace site and you should take your rubbish home with you).
This year, we’re introducing the “Missing Camper Trail” hidden in the woodland—can you find Colin? You’ll also find a new zip line and a slackline for adventurers big and small. Mud Café and den building are still here, along with teddy bears scattered through the woods—no official trail, just hidden friends to find.
Also new this season - a handcrafted washing-up area built by Farmer Ben from wood right off our farm.
Coming soon: We’re hoping for showers this season, but we’ll update when they’re up and running.
Wild camping here means no electricity—just two lovely compost loos and a covered cold-water tap. So bring your guitar, light a fire, and soak up the simplicity... The way camping was intended.

Beautiful scenery all around and always left clean and tidy. David the host is friendly and helpful, he stopped and chatted for a little while. I had the place to myself for a second time! There's Plenty of animals and wildlife around too, horses ducks kites bats and squirrels!

It was a wonderful hideaway next to the river. So peaceful and relaxing. We brought our two spaniels who were in heaven running around. The kitchen was nifty and great for us to make breakfast and dinner. The yurt was cozy and clean. The outhouse was also nice and shower section.

Lovely site, so peaceful (baaah-ing the friendly neighbouring sheep! Loved waking up to them 😊). Simon is really welcoming and keeps everything well maintained. The toilets were always spotless, the showers were gentle but good and the barn for table tennis was an added bonus. The kids loved exploring the river, and the adults enjoyed the peace, views and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks, we'll be back!

This place is a gem. It’s in the forest, super peaceful, and the pitches are literally 3 steps from the water. I’m not exaggerating you could fish from your tent.
Really easy to find too, which is great because my sense of direction is about as reliable as a chocolate teapot. And if you’re the type to forget tent pegs, gas, or, I don’t know, actual food like me, the shop’s only 5 mins away. Saved my bacon. Literally I forgot bacon.
The river and the owls double as white noise during the night drowning out anything else. Slept like a rock.
