Off the beaten track on top of the Mendips in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A mixture of four acres of wild woodland, orchard and field set on a hillside.
Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The Yurt is big and sleeps up to four very comfortably. It has its own stove and outside is a washroom just for you with hot shower , toilet and sinks. Your own meadow allows you to just relax and be.
Up on the campfield you can bring your own tent or hire a Belle tent from us with all the fittings to camp contentedly. Our new Wash House has hot showers, flushing toilets and basins. You can light a fire and cook up a BBQ or maybe just watch the world go by.
A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you.
We moved here after an 18 month search 11 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

Tŷ Llewelyn is a small, off grid glamping and camping site on our family farm near Llanidloes in Powys, Mid Wales. We have 15 acres of meadow and woodland with private access to a small river. Great for families and couples who like simple, quiet stays close to nature.
We offer off grid camping pitches and simple glamping on our farm. Stays here are low impact, with space to switch off properly for a few days.
Set within 15 acres the pitches and glamping units are very well spaced out so it never feels crowded.
ŷ Llewelyn is situated, just outside Llanidloes in Powys, Wales. Within the Cambrian Mountains, just 15 minutes from The Hafren Forest and Clewedog Dam and a scenic 35 minute drive from The Elan Valley we are the perfect central location to explore from. So many walking and cycling routes to enjoy then come back to a stunning, off grid base at the end of the day.
What to expect from an off grid stay
Stays here are better for people who enjoy campfires, stargazing and birdsong rather than bright lights or on site entertainment. Power and lighting are limited, so you will want to bring warm layers and a torch, and be happy with simple facilities. In return you get peace, space and time outdoors in Mid Wales.
The great thing about holidaying in Mid Wales is that you are central to everything. Fancy a beach day? no problem, we're just over half an hour away from the University town of Aberystwyth. Here you can take in the breath taking scenery of the coastal path or just enjoy lazy days on the beach. On the way to the coast you could stop off at Bwlch nant yr arian, and don't forget your bike!! With so many trails heading out into the spectacular scenery of the Cambrian Mountains you would have to come back for another stay to get through them.

We are a small, peaceful. secluded campsite bordered by woodland and a stream, set amidst the wildlife country of the Ceredigion countryside on the edge of the Cambrian mountains. With only 20 camping pitches (7 with hard standing) and 'The Bothy' shepherd's hut, Teifi Meadows is a place to relax, unwind and appreciate the calming beauty of nature. This is a dark sky zone with stunning celestial views on clear nights, and near-zero light pollution as well as pristine air and water quality. Our guests tend to appreciate the quiet stillness here and we don't have a lot of disturbances...so all you will hear is the wind, the birds, the rushing streams and perhaps the odd cow! :)
Everyone, even the cynical, should have a little romance in their lives. Especially if it includes a scenic setting with easy access to local pubs (a holiday extra that thaws the icy hearts of the cynical even more than blazing sunsets). Teifi Meadows should warm the battery of your camera as well as the cockles of your heart: this is wildlife country – look out for red kites overhead – in the midst of the greenery of the Ceredigion countryside, and close to the walks, dolphin spotting and beaches of the stunning west coast and Cardigan Bay. National Trust sites, River Teifi fishing and canoeing, mountain pony trekking, Roman gold mines and blooming great gardens are in the area too. Lampeter, about three miles away, has plenty of food shops, independent stores and a farmers’ market, and the pub at Cellan, also three miles away, serves food and Sunday lunches - another romantic highlight…

Craving a peaceful time filled with wildlife watching, long walks and relaxing by the water? On the banks of the River Severn, Baldwin’s Brook Glamping in Gloucestershire fits the bill.
This small site is a wildlife haven adjacent to the Severn Way, a long-distance trail which traces the river downstream. Birdwatching prospects are excellent here, and there’s plenty of peace if you’d rather sit and relax by a firepit or check out the stunning views and sunsets. The site is part of a working family farm with lots of livestock.
From the farm, it’s a 45-minute walk to Frampton on Severn, which is home to the longest village green in England and the lively Frampton Country Fair (think funfair… and 400 stalls full of good stuff). Baldwin’s Brook Glamping is also half an hour’s walk away from the Cotswold Canal Trust Visitor Centre by The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal if you’d like to grab a spot on a boat trip or sip a coffee by the canal.
When you'd rather have a chilled beer, two pubs are within half a mile of the site (only 10 minutes’ walk away). Strike up a conversation with a local about the next Severn Bore, the huge tidal wave which races for 25 miles from Awre to Gloucester down the estuary just a handful of times per year.

This camping space is definitely one we will be coming back to. The surroundings are beautiful and we were able to see some awesome wildlife: birds of prey, bats, cows and a very friendly horse named George. George is a fantastic camping neighbour.
The owner has recently installed some great sawdust/compost toilets.
David was very friendly when we met, very hospitable and took the time to clear the land and facilities.

This campsite is a haven of peace and beauty. A riverside retreat with rolling farmland all around. There’s no electric or chemical waste facilities - but that’s what makes it so special - there’s nothing to separate you and the landscape. The river Teme runs through the site and the Heart of Wales Trainline passes near it. There’s a great little horse box cafe Offa’s Treats that does breakfast, gorgeous coffee and cakes. Offa’s Dyke National Pathway intersects the site, so you can experience a section of this iconic walk right from your base.
You can empty toilet cassette in the loos as long as you’re using green fluid - not blue. Nearby Knighton is a 10 minute river walk away - see if you can spot the crayfish in the water! There’s dark skies at night are breathtaking too.

Brilliant spot for those who want to enjoy nature, have a little fire and feel totally removed from the hustle and bustle of life (while only being a 3.5 mile river-side walk from Brecon town centre).
Compost toilets were spotless. Rest of the campers were nice and spread out. Plenty of wildlife and birds around.
Just a really lovely spot. Great to have stayed at such a great price. Will definitely be rebooking.

Left a day early because we never predicted how cold it actually gets and the kids in our group as well as a couple adults were feeling the effects. This site is an absolute gem, wild camping at its best with views to die for. Not only was the wildflower meadow maintained beautifully, but the ability to chose your own spot, and your own view was perfect. On one side you have sunrise and the other is sunset. The Black Mountain (which is an easyish 30 minute hike) provides the backdrop and the views out over England and wales are just jaw dropping. Proximity to Hay on Wye is excellent and our dogs and kids as well as us loved every moment in this epic campsite. Thank you to Ross for arranging all we needed at the last minute and for being such a relaxed and effective host - we will be back! Suz, Ralph, Isla, Jonah, Bodhi dog and Tiri pup 😊

What a lovely campsite! Site is simple, thoughtful and beautifully maintained with two showers, 2 compost loos, one flush loo and washing up station. You can walk and sit by a wooded river. Plenty of space to pitch up and Simon was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late the first night and explored the local area on foot the next morning. We could have stayed longer and explored more of the area by car. The Angel Inn wasn’t open on Mondays or Tuesdays so hope to be back and try going there one day!
