We are a small basic 7 acre campsite in the Shropshire hills between the long mynd and the stipperstones great for wild camping. So offers great walks and mountain biking. Carding Mill Valley is just a short drive which is great place for exploring and playing in the streams or wild swimming in the reservoir.
It is a simple site with toilets showers and we have a canteen with a kettle, fridge, microwave, tables and chairs, sink area and power. The campsite is on the side of a hill but there are pleanty of flat areas to pitch up. The campsite has lovely views of the surrounding area. We do allow fire's and can supply fire pits and wood.
We have an undercover area which can be used as cover from rain, this area also has a pool table.
We allow tents, caravans, motor homes, although dont have electric hookups.
We can allow group bookings.
We use the site for a festival once a year and the stage is a permanent structure as is the bar and medic cabins, these will not affect your stay in anyway just making you aware they are there.

You'll sense the history all around you at The Old Vicarage, from the old house to the remains of the water mill in the river bed. Stays here are in the grounds of a 17th-century house in the village of Elkesley, six miles from Worksop and 25 miles from Nottingham. Its grounds run down to the banks of the Poulter river, and are lined with stands of acacia, sycamore, ash and oak trees which were originally donated to the first vicar by the Duke of Newcastle in the 1830s.
There's plenty of space around the site for traditional outdoor activities, with a rope swing and stepping stones over the shallow river and a bridge that's perfect for playing Pooh Sticks. In the surrounding area there are animal parks and nature reserves to walk around, or to head back further in time, you could take one of the trails through ancient Sherwood Forest, around quarter of an hour's drive away.
Guest facilities on site centre around the Cave Bar, a cool little space built into an exposure of 500-million-year-old sandstone, plus an outdoor terrace for sipping drinks out in the sunshine.
Other amenities include a washing-up area and bathrooms with plentiful hot showers, toilets and baby changing facilities.

There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).

The horse box sleeps 2 on a high bed above the cab and has a kitchenette/dining space. There are 4 camp areas, one is quite large and could accommodate several tents. This is a simple and unspoilt site that offers a tranquil setting, with sounds of nature and amazing views.
There are many beautiful beaches and lakes close by, castles, steam trains, mountains, historic buildings and pilgrim churches, water sports, national cycle route and the coastal path. Within 20 minutes by car, bus or train are Harlech, Porthmadog, Tremadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog (zip world). Snowdon walk is half an hour’s drive away. Plenty to do!
For local services, 2 miles away in different directions are two villages. Talsarnau has a pub and Penrhyndeudraeth has 2 small supermarkets, post office, several cafes, restaurants and takeaways, 2 pubs and a petrol station. Porthmadog is a few minutes further by car, bus or train and has extensive services and facilities.
The property is accessed via a steep narrow lane, with passing places, about 1/2 mile from the A496 road. By public transport, there is a train station and a bus stop in Llandecwyn on the main road. National cycle route 8 passes our property gate.
Llyn Tecwyn lake is a few minutes walk up the lane, with Llandecwyn church above that. A little further away are more lakes and reservoirs, the Rhinog mountains with Bryn Cader Faner and a temperate rain forest Coed Felinrhyd. All are lovely hikes from our property.

Coed Obry is a 5.5 acre private woodland on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It has its own private gated access from the road and a 50m track leads from the A 4085 to a small car park for 5 vehicles. Paths lead from there to the caravan, bunkhouse, camping areas. There is a compost toilet block and sink (cold water tap) in the centre of the wood shared by all visitors. The notice board in the car park provides visitors with maps, photos and information about the wood, and there are laminated maps showing the routes of around 30 local walks which visitors are welcome to borrow during their stay. Canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire in Coed Obry and there are several fire pits with seasoned firewood for sale. There is no mains water so visitors are requested to bring their own drinking water, but rain water harvesting systems provide water for washing. Nearby there are several outstanding beaches within 1-3 miles and there is good access to the mountains of Snowdonia; the Afon Dwyryd provides an excellent sheltered river/estuary for canoeing and paddle boarding; the slate quarries and tourist attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog, rock climbing at Tremadog (2 miles); spectacular waterfalls at Croesor (1 mile); the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway (0.5 miles); the Glaslyn Osprey Centre (1 mile); several shops, restaurants, hostelries and Spar shop in Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile); three large supermarkets and a regional shopping centre in Porthmadog (2.5 miles).

You can book experiences with the animals we have on site, horses, alpacas, pygmy goats, sheep, rescue hens and our own dogs love a fuss.
Your dogs are very welcome, including reactive and exempt dogs. We have enclosed 1 acre paddocks for you to stay.
With a choice of paddock or hardstanding pitches, we can accommodate you whatever the weather.
We have a glamping tent with a full size double bed available to hire. This can sleep 6 with additional beds. Subtle solar lighting, table and chairs, blankets and cushions to sit outside in the evenings and watch the sunset.
We are perfect for a technology detox, while we have electricity on site to charge your phones, there is no electric to the pitches.

Enclosed paddocks, no nearby roads, and only the gentle hum of a distant train from across the canal, this is countryside relaxation at its finest.
Watch the canal boats drift by, or go for a walk or cycle on the network of paths beside them. If your feeling adventurous, take a paddleboard or canoe onto the water, or hire a longboat for the day.
Walk to the nearby dog friendly, local pubs, or a short drive there are many options of restaurants, from country pubs to fine dining of all different cultures including takeaways. Or stay onsite with a BBQ, campsite cooking or firepit.
Supermarkets, farm shops, garden centres, national trust, activity parks and many other off site places to visit within close proximity, such as historic Chester or the monkeys at Trentham Garden.
You can book experiences with the animals we have on site, horses, alpacas, pygmy goats, sheep, rescue hens and our own dogs love a fuss.
Your dogs are very welcome, including reactive and exempt dogs. We have enclosed 1 acre paddocks for you to stay.
With a choice of paddock or hardstanding pitches, we can accommodate you whatever the weather.
We have a glamping tent with a full size double bed available to hire. This can sleep 6 with additional beds. Subtle solar lighting, table and chairs, blankets and cushions to sit outside in the evenings and watch the sunset.
We are perfect for a technology detox, while we have electricity on site to charge your phones, there is no electric to the pitches.
Use of a fridge freezer, small kitchen area with hot water, shower bay and mains water.

We loved this site, its overall size and simple spotless facilities, no fuss booking and check in, great location, gorgeous views, and a mud free level pitch despite the gails and rain we brought with us! Darren and Diana were fab, great communication, excellent care of the site and they even lent us a pair of grips when we found our gas tank valve has seized up and we couldn’t open it by hand. Hospitable hosts and a lovely site. Will definitely come back and highly recommend!

This is an amazing campsite! I would highly recommend it. The place is really peaceful and beautiful, with a very friendly vibe. Great for couples and small families, or single travellers.
The site has incredible views of the estuary, the sea, the lleyn peninsula in the distance and portmeirion in the foreground. I loved camping here, and using the fire pit.
Lizzie is an excellent host, and on hand if you have any queries. The facilities are all close by: ample parking, a compostible toilet that is v clean, running water tap close at hand. There is even a cat who comes to say hi!
It is ten minutes walk down to Llandecwyn train station, so you can even arrive by train, as long as you can manage the walk up the hill with equipment. You could use the campsite as a base to take trains along the Cambrian coast up to Porthmadog and Pwllheli and down to Harlech, Barmouth and even Machynlleth.
From the campsite there are beautiful walks up into the hills, and Bryn Cader Faner is about 1hr and a half walk away.
I very much enjoyed just being on the campsite, and definitely intend to return.
