Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales. There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep! The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer. The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!). Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit). We were delighted to receive a nomination for The Camping and Caravanning Club Best Hideaway Site in 2021 and grateful to our wonderful guests for the nomination.

I had a lovely time camping at Panpwton Farm. It's a beautiful place and the walk along the river into Knighton for groceries or fish and chips is quick, easy and relaxing. You can pitch where you like and I had plenty of space, peace & quiet. While I was there, slightly off peak season, Offa's Treats was only open Saturday to Monday, but it may be different in the middle of the summer holidays. The ice cream was delicious. The toilets and showers are plummed, good quality and well-lit. The showers even have enough space for you to put your dry clothes (almost unheard of at campsite showers for some reason!). There's a shared kettle and fridge which is really convenient. I heard the faint trickle of the river at night but the train didn't disturb me at all. Offa's Dyke path is immediately quite steep going north, which may not be accessible to everyone. Going south it is also pretty steep leaving Knighton. In either direction, the views are great once you're up out of the valley. For trips out, I'd also recommend the adorably named waterfall water break-it's-neck, the secondhand bookshop Elderwood Books, the castle in Ludlow and the ruins in Clun.

If you want camping away from the crowd in a beautiful serene part of the world then this is for you. So quiet and peaceful. As a small site we had two other "neighbours" about 50 yards away so you really did feel like you were the only ones there. Great facilities though quite rustic. Access road is narrow and would struggle with large camper or caravan. Hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. If you do stay then Lake Vyrnwy down the road is a must.,

We had a wonderful weekend at Katherine’s place. The whole family made us feel so welcome and were incredibly friendly. It was a fantastic rewilding experience with beautiful open fields, a peaceful atmosphere, and thoughtful eco-friendly amenities. We really loved this site. We were at the top of the hill with great views, close to Hay on Wye and able to walk down the the river for a paddle. The facilities were really clean and although it was quite full, they have done in such a way that there's lots of privacy.

Holy moly, I can't believe how stunning this place is and how cheap for the exclusive use! We absolutely loved our stay here, beauty & wild nature all around, no other annoying campers disturbing our peace, totally perfect. The compost loo was clean and had a lovely view like everywhere else at our spot. Plenty of pretty stony streams not far away to have a wash which I much prefer to showers any day! So quiet, not even the distant rumble of any roads, just lots of lovely birdsong, the breeze and the gentle fluttering of the many butterflies' wings in our meadow-with-a-view. Felt like a real privilege to be there. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Ryan & family for our wonderful weekend getaway ❤️😊

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The views were beautiful, the surroundings were peaceful, and the campsite itself was very spacious, so it never felt crowded There was also a nearby town, which made it easy to grab food and supplies when needed, and you could buy firewood on site, which was really convenient. The river running by the campsite was an added bonus and was perfect for our dog to cool down in after a hot day. T The toilets and showers were in good condition and kept very clean throughout our stay. The owner was out when we arrived, but she stopped by the following morning to check that everything was okay, which was a lovely touch. She was very friendly and welcoming. We'd happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing campsite.

The pitch is great, the grass is lush and the tree line is great. The facilities were always clean. The single inconvenience was the fact that the river looked either heavy polluted or way to dirty to actually let the kids play in it.

Large campsite. Great facilities. Signposting to the larger field could have been better as we didn't realise how big the site was when we arrived. Gorgeous walk into the town. If camping be aware that there is a rogue mouse who broke into our tent one night and then the neighbours the night after with a penchant for bread and porridge so make sure food is stored carefully. We would return.

Lovely hosts with a peaceful site, on our last morning our host made a lovely full English for us which was brilliant! Everything we needed they accommodated for (we forgot our gas tube and they let us borrow theirs too). A truly lovely place, will be returning.

1 night at Panpwnton Campsite

I may have found my favourite camping spot! Being midweek it was quiet, just as I like it. The site is beautiful, full of wildlife (I saw an otter, a heron and more), and has a relaxing river ambience. There is a train line but I loved hearing the sound of the old rails and the trains were sparse. The breakfast van was open on our last day, fueling us with sausage and egg rolls for our trip home. Lovely friendly owners. I am tempted not to say these things to keep this gem of a site to myself. Thank you.
