Our location has the best of both worlds, your shepherd hut is located in an ancient Roman village in the Oxfordshire countryside, yet just 5 miles from the centre of Oxford with all its history and university colleges. If you choose you can compliment your stay with an indulgent shopping trip to Bicester Village premium outlet (11m) or Blenheim Palace (8m) with all its history and events on offer. Jeremy Clarksons Diddly squat farm (21m) and his new public house have also become popular with our guests. If walking or running is more your focus then why not explore the beautiful RSPB Otmoor bird reserve, a haven for wildlife with many visitor trials to enjoy, it’s merely a short walk away. Whatever your visit has in store our cosy pub, The Abingdon Arms, is waiting only 100metres walk away, offering fine ales and fine dining or perhaps just a take away pizza.

The space
The hut has sweeping countryside views and is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing break! Inside there is a king sized hybrid mattress bed, seating area with a fold up table for meal times or relaxing, a fully equipped kitchen with all utensils & crockery, integrated fridge with small freezer, heating with Nest controlled thermostat, induction hob, sink and draining tray. There is also a large en-suite with a rainfall shower.
Luxury toiletries are provided along with towels and themed bed linen. You will also have 1 extra towel per person for use with the hot tub.
Jars of tea, coffee and sugar are available in the kitchen along with a couple of milk sachets.
The garden is fully enclosed with a gravel and lawned area, table & seating, large firepit/BBQ and a parasol for those sunnier days! The fire pit is set up with racks, pans and all the equipment needed to cook with!
The large hot tub with lights and jets is just to the side of the seating area. The hot tub is fully undercover, making it safe to use in all weathers! There is also enough space for undercover seating. There is a manual provided in the hut which features local attractions and there is a private landscaped parking area located just at the back of the hut.
There is lots to do nearby and something for every and those a little further afield, local supermarkets, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The site is also located on the Leicestershire Round walking route with at least 5 off road walks commencing within 400 yards of the site.
Check in information, along with directions to the site are messaged 48 hours prior to arrival.
Guest access
Secure off road parking, waste bin, outdoor tap and hose, recycling bins, enclosed garden, hot tub and seating area, large fire pit and shepherds hut with en-suite.
Other things to note
Tip- it can get quite dark at night, therefore it is advisable to bring a torch.
A full set of towels is provided, including a hot tub towel. Luxury toiletries, toilet roll, tea, coffee, sugar and milk are also provided to welcome you.

Weekend Trip to Huckleberry Farm
Our getaway to Huckleberry Farm was a gift for my husband’s birthday. Everything from start to finish was really organised and fun. Met all of our expectations. Charlotte and everyone on site were really helpful and sweet. We enjoyed horse riding and seeing the guinea pigs. We stayed in the shepherd’s hut, a clean and well maintained space that felt like home for the night. All in all a wonderful experience. Completely recommend! Thank you Charlotte and everyone at Huckleberry Farm for having Ali & I. Looking back to visiting again sometime soon!

We had the best time in the Shepherd's Huts - it's such a magical place to stay, with beautiful views over the fields and even it's own little woodland walk. We spent two nights just us and our son, then my cousins pitched a tent on the third night. It was so peaceful to be surrounded by nature and have the place to ourselves. The huts were beautiful and cosy and the beds were comfy too. There was everything we needed to have a camping experience that felt both wild yet easy and with all that we needed. Fenton was a lovely shepherds hut. Fantastic location and surrounded by beautiful nature.
Hosts were fantastic, great to have breakfast, coffees and pizzas within 2 mins walk.

Have already recommended this place to friends. We had a lovely stay in the sunshine. The hut is has everything you need in a compact but unsquashy space. Enjoyed some fine walks and a super day out in Ruthin. We'd also recommend the Red Lion for a visit. Ruth & Jude were both very helpful and welcoming. I'm sure we'll come back.

This is a beautiful campsite, in a remote and peaceful location, with great amenities. We stayed in the shepherds' hut, which was extremely cosy. Ruth and Jono are friendly and welcoming, and we would both come back again and also recommend it to anyone looking for a serene campsite in a beautiful setting.

I had a wonderful stay in this charming shepherd’s hut nestled in a peaceful meadow. The hut was beautifully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and cozy getaway. The surrounding area was lovely, with fruit to pick and plenty of space for the dogs, who absolutely loved it! The hosts were fabulous—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend this little gem for a relaxing countryside retreat.

Weekend Trip to Huckleberry Farm
Charlotte was an excellent, friendly host with great communication. It's a beautiful spot and very handy location. The ponies were all very friendly and we had a lovely stay.

Weekend Trip to Purple Badger Camping&Fishing Lakes
I booked a fishing retreat for my husbands birthday , it was perfect, Fenton hut was gorgeous and the pitch ,privacy and space we had was perfect . The hosts were just lovely, they literally couldn’t do enough for us including a fabulous dinner recommendation at JB Kitchen.

Perfect getaway for me and my daughter. The hut is perfect, everything you could need and equipped and furnished beautifully. The views are stunning and the location is within easy reach of nature reserves and forests - spoilt for choice. It was so cosy and warm in the hut with the log burner lit and the fairy lights on. Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Campsites abound in Shropshire Hills AONB—from private farm campsites with secluded grassy pitches and access to compost toilets to lakefront campsites for tents and caravans that feature drinking water, firepits, and BBQs to dog-friendly safari-style tents with fully-equipped kitchens, heated showers, running water, and private hot tubs. Then, head to the southwest corner of the park known as Waterfall Country and step behind thundering falls, tackle rock climbing routes around Llangorse Lake, or explore the extensive underground network of caves.
When to go
July has the highest number of sunny days in Church Stretton, so campers can’t go wrong with a visit in the peak of summer. June and August also provide warm temperatures that make swimming in Bala Lake delightfully refreshing. Those months do receive a fair amount of rainfall. If drier skies are a top priority, March, April, May, and September are better options. Temperatures start to drop as fall arrives in October, and snowfall is common from December until February, so look for cosy cabins with wood-burning fireplaces or caravan parks with electric hookups during winter camping trips.
