A holiday taking in two countries – a tad ambitious? Not in the slightest. Take off to Offa’s Dyke Retreat and such escapades are very easy indeed, as you’re almost on the border of England and Wales, with plenty of gorgeous scenery and outdoorsy antics on both sides of the divide.
Site is set in 3 acres with new 2023 communal space, including games room sofa snug, dinning area, new wet rooms and kitchen to be complete December 2023.
You can start gazing at that scenery without even leaving this friendly glamping site in the little village of Longtown, for the outlook here is one of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Ready for a closer look? Get those boots on and set off for a wander. The Offa’s Dyke path passes nearby on its way from Pandy to Hay-on-Wye, and there are lots of little local paths to explore too.
A stroll of a much less strenuous variety (barely a 7 minute, in fact) takes you to the local pub for home-cooked meals, local ales. If you can manage a little further (a 6 minutes walk), you can get to a fab village shop stacked with fresh and frozen food, local tipples and homemade cakes. Stock up there and trot back to the site for a picnic or barbecue (firepit provided, with firewood available to buy on site), or use the well-equipped communal kitchen to prep your eats.
5 ensuite railway carriages with kitchenette, 2 pods and 3 further carriages use shared facilities on site include a toilet block with a couple of showers; no need to bring your own towels, as you’ll be provided with these when you get here, along with bedding for your cosy sleeping quarters.

Willey Lane Farm is a post medieval farmstead situated in a secluded location in the hills of north Herefordshire between the village of Lingen and the Welsh border town of Presteigne, the former County town of Radnorshire, in the Welsh Marches. The farm is predominately permanent pasture (usually grazed by sheep) with a significant area of ancient semi-natural woodland, a small area of lavender and a quiet seasonal micro campsite (2 pitches only in a 1.4 acre orchard) with superb views to the east.
Willey Lane Yurts now has two 16ft diameter yurts, Violet and Lavender, each of which has a private bathroom and a private washing up room.
Each yurt is equipped with a king sized bed with side lights, two chests of drawers, a two ring gas hob with saucepans and a frying pan, a food storage cupboard, a clothes rack, a table and benches and a wood burning stove.
Violet has, in addition, two mattresses suitable for children.
All bedding and towels are included in the price.
Outside there is a dining table and chairs, sun loungers and a firepit.

Fantastic weekend at Upper House Farm glamping. We stayed at the Mountain View Bell tent. Pleasant surprise to see a picnic bench and extendable parasol, which weren't mentioned in the listing. Very comfortable double bed. Great that you have a camping stove, pots and pans, cutlery and crockery. Very thoughtful of the owners to have a bottle of water, wood and kindling. Stunning view of the Black mountains from the field and the stars at night were really a sight to behold. Would highly recommend. You'd be hard pressed to find anything else like this anywhere for an absolute bargain price

Wonderful bespoke cabin with lots of charm. It’s handmade and beautiful, and really clean and comfy! We loved our stay. The bath was a huge treat. The water from the spring was delicious. We found amazing walks in the area- long and fabulous views and woodland. We loved Daphne’s in Prestiegne- delicious supper. Highly recommend - the children (10 and 7) loved the bedroom in rafters. A real gem!

We had a wonderful family weekend in Little Owl. The yurt was very comfortable and there was everything we could need nearby in the kitchen and toilet/shower block. We all enjoyed exploring the woods then relaxing in the hammock and roasting marshmallows over a campfire. We had two great day trips, canoeing on the Wye and hiring bikes in the Forest of Dean. Such a beautiful area, would definitely recommend!

We had a great few days at Heart of the Wye. Ann and Sam are fantastic hosts, from greeting us with a glass of prosecco and giving us a tour to being around if we needed anything. Toilet, showers and the well equipped kitchen were spotless. Our yurt was really comfortable, we used the bbq for breakfast and evening meals and had a fire both nights. We left feeling super relaxed and happy we had found a lovely place to return to. Thank you Jackie and Al. X

Weekend Trip to Heart Of The Wye
A perfect last minute weekend away, after a longer than expected drive due to traffic we was welcomed with a glass of fizz & gorgeous hospitality! A full tour of the site & yurt, with all the things you could possibly need for the weekend, they really have thought of everything like wool blankets for sitting around the fire, umbrella, lanterns & fresh coffee! Lovely hot outdoor showers & modern communal kitchen again with everything you need so no need to over pack! Close to hay on wye (approx 10min drive). Overall a really enjoyable and relaxing weekend away, thank you ☺️
