Whether you’re planning on darting down to Dartmoor National Park for hikes and the like or exploring sandy beaches and surf hotspots on the Devon coast, you’re going to need somewhere cosy to stay that’s within reach of it all. That’s exactly what you get with the shepherd’s hut at Northcombe Farm, just half an hour’s drive from Dartmoor National Park, 35 minutes from Bude and 40 minutes from Widemouth beach. That’s not all – the shepherd’s hut also has stabling facilities available for one horse, and with three bridleways nearby, there are plenty of options for outings. With two private fishing lakes, you’ll be free to spend the morning fishing for roach and tench if you wish. The river Wolf also runs through the site’s boundaries. It’s likely you’re already aware of the excellent beaches along the south Devon coast, but fab views can also be caught from the ferry or boat trips that operate around the coast. Soak up all that spectacular scenery from the South West Coast Path too, along with splendid seaside towns along the clifftop route. South Devon has three areas designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as a World Heritage Site, a selection of national nature reserves, Sites of Special Scientific Interest, forests, woodlands and parks. They’re all mighty good places to appreciate nature at its finest. Beaworthy (10 minutes’ drive) first, perhaps, for granite tors, standing stones and ancient woodlands? A Spacious, peaceful site with great facilities just 5 miles to the beach. Far from the crowd but close to everywhere, being just 1/2 a mile to the village shops, bakery and restaurants and only 1.5 to the town. A small number of pitches over 3 meadows where you choose where you want to pitch when you arrive, being assured of a great space for your stay, bring whatever size tent or your campervan and enjoy the great facilities include flushing toilets, hot showers and a wash up area with hot water, together with a communal fridge, microwave and phone charging sockets. There's drinking water in every meadow. So, relax and listen to the birds and enjoy the surrounding nature and magnificent views across the Cornish countryside whilst you sit by the fire. A great location to explore from being fairly central. We're close to the Tresavean Trail which links to the network of trails throughout Cornwall, so bring your walking shoes or cycle. Horse riding is just a 5 minute drive and if you fancy a spot of windsurfing/ canoeing, then Stithians lake is just 2 miles away. For the surfers amongst you there are several great beaches within a short distance and there's a handy wetsuit wash area when you get back. Dogs are welcome - all we ask is that you clean up and use the waste bin on site. This quiet site is perfect for children 8 years and over with plenty of space for a ball game or two. Fire pits and bbq's are allowed as long as they're raised off the ground - we have blocks for you to use.

Weekend Trip to Cerenety Eco Campsite

The site was exactly as described! Really quiet and calming. Our only note would be to make sure if your van is bigger than a short wheel base is make sure you are a relatively confident driver as the roads to get to the site are narrow single track and quite tight. But overall we would be happy to stay again.

Charming family campsite with great views. Simple but very well maintained. Great location near beautiful beaches, coves, and wooded combes. Having a 24/7 supply of fresh organic veg and the finest pasties in Cornwall just across the road doesn't hurt either. Highly recommended.

My 12 year old son and I stayed at Gear’s Farm for 3 nights whilst exploring the local area during the days and we can highly recommend it for the lovely surroundings and amazing vast views. Facilities were top notch, highly recommended all round!! Will definitely return!

3 nights at Cerenety Eco Campsite

We absolutely loved our stay at Coronary! It’s such a charming, cozy little campsite with just the right amount of space between tents to feel relaxed. The amenities - showers, washing-up area, and composting toilet - were simple but had everything we needed. The surrounding nature was outstanding and we got to know friendly local sheep and alpaca. We had so much fun enjoying a campfire at night with a fire bowl we borrowed and wood we picked up right on site. Can’t wait to come back again!
