The site is amazing, it feels like truly wild camping but with an air of safety allowing you to relax. David was brilliant, he came round to see if everyone was ok each day and answered any questions. George the horse was lovely and the river front was so peaceful almost like you had been transported back in time. Overall 10/10 we will definitely return.

What an incredible campsite! It really does feel wild and free, and it's hard to tear yourself away. The river is wonderful to swim in (for children and adults, there are shallow areas, deep areas and two beach strips - one pebble, one silt!), which was an absolute blessing on the boiling hot days we were there. There's a brilliant range of pitches (field, next to the river, deeper in the woods, in a woodland glade.) It felt safe having our dog off lead on the quieter day, with sheep fencing on the borders of the site. Everybody camping there was lovely, which was a bonus! Owner David was very friendly and popped by once a day. I'd recommend bringing supplies to deal with wasps and horse flies, as they were somewhat prolific and we all were bitten whilst we were there. Citronella candles worked well. The bonus to the insect life was being able to watch the bats catch them at dusk! It's a wonderful site for wildlife. Compost toilet was excellent: clean, minimal aroma and well stocked. We absolutely loved it and hope to return as soon as possible.

Lovely area, and loads of nice touches to the site (hammocks, clean toilets, cut paths to explore). The water/moat was just sludge when we went (I'm blaming the heatwave!) but still a beautiful spot to listen to the birds and watch sunsets on the hills opposite. The church bells were a fun addition!

Nice simple campsite with all the necessities and good vibes. Clean toilets and showers and well layed out, nicely sperated pitches so feels like your camping in your own mini secluded spot. Plus some nice extras like on site coffee shop, hammocks BBQs and benches. Will be back!

Lovely stay and atmosphere!! We went with our camper van and found mostly level ground with ease. Shower facilities were lovely and clean. We really enjoyed exploring the woods neighbouring the campsite.

Lovely owner who welcomed us and gave local information & suggestions.
Very relaxed camping meadow with freedom of choice to pitch up.
Great location for walks & bike rides.
Clean facilities.

Really nice campsite and a fantastic shop and cafe. No cars field much better than the area for campers (which has no view), but other than that (if you are in a van) this is a gem of a site.

We really liked this site. The field was really pretty and the set up was v relaxed. The woodland walks from the site were beautiful. The showers were brilliant and we loved the rented fire baskets made from old washing machines. It was also V helpful to be able to stay for just one night. Christina was really friendly and helpful

We had two nights here. Friday night, checking in went smoothly. Pitching the tent took a while. We seemed to have picked a pitch that no matter what, the pegs just wouldn't go into the ground. But after multiple attempts and moving a few metres, we eventually got pitched. That night was quite peaceful, and the fire pit was a nice touch. Unfortunately Saturday night wasn't quite the same. There was a group of people that were up late, and laughing and shouting quite loudly after the 11pm quiet time. Other than that one group, we did have a lovely time. The toilets could have been a bit better, but the showers were lovely. For being porta-showers I didn't know what to expect, but it was a nice hot shower. Overall, we had a great time, even my daughter who was very anxious about the whole camping trip, enjoyed it and said she would do it all again in future. Would definitely return, next time I'm coming to that area. Thanks

Great peaceful campsite. We had loads of fun cooking on open fires and our dogs and infant loved it. A really wholesome relaxing weekend with my family. I recommend the four falls trail for any hikers (30 mins drive from site) for some beautiful views.
George the horse was a lovely highlight too!

Lovely site with great facilities in a very picturesque area. Really good for a base for nice walks through the new forest, highly recommend especially the pizza and cocktails are a great touch.

Abbey Farm was excellent. The price was outstanding for what was on offer with the facilities and the site had so much open space it was great.

Absolutely perfect, though not for everyone, luckily! Peaceful - meadows, birds, clover, butterflies, grasses, insects, moonlight. Spent a good while searching for the green woodpecker, but could only hear her. Couldn't drag myself away from the campsite!
