Mel has called Cornwall home for over 20 years and is always happy to share her local knowledge with guests, while Tom, a seasoned surfer, can offer advice on the best surf spots based on the weather and swell conditions. Tregonetha Lake is a small, peaceful, off grid site surrounded by wild and natural, Cornish countryside and open farmland, including a beautiful 2 acre coarse fishing Lake.
Fishing is an extra cost of £10 per adult day ticket, £7.50 per child day ticket.
Just 9 miles from Mawgan Porth, 10 miles from Padstow, 11 miles from Newquay and 15 miles from Mevagissey it’s the perfect place to get away from it all, while still being within easy reach of some of the most popular holiday destinations on both the north and south coasts of Cornwall.
Our Lake View Camping Field offers peaceful pitches for tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans, all overlooking our beautiful two-acre lake. For a more immersive nature experience, we also have five secluded woodland camping pitches, tucked among the trees and just a short walk from the lake. All camping pitches operate on a choose-where-you-want-to-pitch basis.
Glamping in bell tents is also available.

The yurt in the orchard is a lovely, peaceful place to stay. Chris was welcoming and the cream teas were an absolute treat. We had a great time as a family of 4 and our boys loved the hot tub! We would love to return one day. 😀

Very private, lovely place so quiet, facilities were great, Chris was amazing and went ab9ve and beyond for us. Even put gazebo up over the seating area as on arrival it was raining hard. Yurt was amazing bed was really comfortable. Hot tub was an added bonus and the Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch. our dogs absolutely love the grounds. Would highly recommend. And I think we will be back again one day.

I stayed for a single night in my campervan and was really impressed with the site. Its quiet, had all the basic facilities I needed and is well maintained. The fishing lake is lovely and the 2 anglers I watched seemed to be catching some nice fish. Mel & Tom are friendly, welcoming hosts and were kind enough to share some tips on good local beaches for surfing & bodyboarding (reason for my being in Cornwall). I would certainly come back again.

A beautiful, peaceful place to camp for a few days. We loved the rope swings over the river and how the butterflies gorged on fallen apples in the orchard. Lots of space even over the bank holiday weekend.

I really enjoyed the few days at the woodlands campsite. The no frills, no fuss provision was exactly the basic camping experience I was after. As the site had no occupancy when I arrived, I was able to pitch anywhere on the largely flat area using the provided wheel barrows to ferry the gear from the car. The woodlands site is nicely secluded from the main, more manicured, Lakeview part, with the excellent, eco-centric toilets and washing facilities right next door. The clay grounds accepted the tent pegs without hammering and I was able to set up (2 tents) and get the campfire going within half an hour of arrival. The campfire being the biggest selling point for me. Mel (and Tom) were very friendly and accommodating hosts and when they weren't present at the reception booth, they were always quick to respond to texts and facilitate any enquiries raised. I do look forward to returning to the site and if anyone else does, feel free to use the central fire pit we built (and Mel requested we leave ;) great place, great price, thanks all 👍

Richard is such a nice guy and goes out of his way to help, including helping us with our electric hook up. The site has really lovely views and was very peaceful. We had a really great, relaxed visit. Close to dog beaches and bouldering at Helman’s Tor. We also really enjoyed the eggs! Definitely recommend if you want peace and quiet with a view

Bij dit terrein past het woord camping niet zo goed. Het voelt meer als wild kamperen met iets meer mensen in de buurt. De eigenaar stelt een enorm terrein beschikbaar om je tent of camper neer te zetten. Veel velden zijn op een helling dus wat minder geschikt. De velden aan de beek zijn vlak en het meest gewild. Toch heb je ontzettend veel ruimte als kampeerder. Het pad is uitdagend en heeft wat kuilen en bulten. De hoger gelegen velden zijn denk ik alleen te bereiken met een 4 wiel aandrijving. Je staat daar dan ook ver weg bij de wc’s.
De eigenaar is een rommelaar, maar wij konden daar wel doorheen kijken. Het erf is nogal rommelig en onderweg naar de velden ligt links ook nog een bult afval. De eigenaar zorgt goed voor zijn dieren. Wij stonden op het veld waar ook een veldje afgezet was voor geitjes. Ze werden iedere ochtend goed verzorgd.
Bij de beek is het prachtig! Er staan hoogspanningsmasten door het terrein maar dat stoorde ons op dag 2 niet meer. Eigenaar is erg vriendelijk. Wc en douche is basic zoals we gewend zijn in Engeland, maar prima. Al met al hebben wij 3 heerlijke dagen gehad op deze wildkampeer camping.

Stayed for 1 night on the way down to lands end. Genuinely couldn’t have asked for more! Easy to book, cheap (a night in Exeter service station is £15+) at £12 pppn, facilities clean, well maintained and an amazing shower! Will definitely be back!

The Yurt in the Orchard is an exceptional place to get away from it all. Be prepared for silence ! The Yurt is comfortable, the shepherds hut has the essentials for food prep and the washing up station does the job. The shower is great and the loo is functional while being eco friendly. Be prepared to spend hours in the hot tub looking at the stars and the milky way. Had a great weekend.

Lovely spot (or spots) to pitch up and stay.
Easy to find. Signs make it easy to find where you need to be.
We arrived around 9pm and called to inform the owners we were here but didn’t receive a response. I messaged here too but didn’t receive a response. I noticed on the website it says check in until 8pm however not listed on this app, so appreciate this is why we may not have gotten a response.
Showers and toilets close by. Lots of space and different areas to choose from. Rivers with many tire swings close distance and even closer if you get there on time 😸
The only downside for us was the showers were freezing. They teased us with a tiny bit of heat only to turn cold. Grateful to be able to shower however so still solid 4/5 overall :)

Great place feels like campsites of yesteryear lovely welcome quick intro to the site and go find a spot great for car vans and off grid prepped vehicles with quarry area and river side . Thoroughly recommend we loved it dog loved it kids too

Great camping site. Facilities, while basic, were kept very clean. Lots of space from other campers and tucked down a secluded lane in beautiful Cornwall. The dozen eggs that were delivered when we checked in was great too! I’d recommend. Check out The Crown pub close by for a delicious meal.
