Great small, tidy no fuss site, lots of sinks (almost one per pitch!) and friendly owner. Great value for solo travellers, as charged per person. A little noise from roads close by, but generally v.peaceful.

The ground is flat! Each pitch is numbered (very spacious) with it's own firepit in front of you. Very well set out. I like the one way system, easy to follow. Toilets clean. Site was easy to find as well. There is no 'view' to speak of but you are in the countryside so trees, hedges, birdsong and the stars at night. The host is a lovely person to have a chat to as well.

Perfect campsite, great view, hot showers. Hosts were lovely, checked in with us during a rough weather patch, offered us food in the mornings. Can’t fault it at all - would definitely stay here again!

The site is super quiet and the skies are really dark at night.
You can have a firepit and there's a food van on site if you can't be bothered making breakfast.

Great site, hot showers and toilets (composting (flush with a scoop of sawdust)). Wild camping with a little bit of comfort.
Takes tents, motorhomes, camper vans, trailer tents etc.
Dishwashing facilities a bonus with hot water on tap.
Calves in field are a real treat for inquisitive children just keep dogs on a lead as they'll come right up to your tent if you let them.. moo moo.
Beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic and super dark at night so you can see way back in time.
Will definitely be going back as soon as we can.
Get weather now app as it's really accurate for the Cornish weather which can be changeable in September and gives a good radar picture of clouds and rain etc.
The hosts are really friendly and accommodating, fire pits available to toast your marshmallows and dry your socks
Only a short walk from a little fishing village with working shingle harbour "beach".
10 mins by car from Kennack Sands (sandy) beach.
Seems good for surfing on windier days and family fun when it's a bit calmer. Plenty of rock pools, a cafe and a kiosk. Parking isnt too expensive either.
There are also a few other coves and beaches around the lizard peninsula worth exploring.
Fishing is good from the safer rocks and there's a tackle and bait shop in lizard.
Almost forgot, there's a hot food van on site if you can't be bothered cooking breakfast.

I had a really good stay at this campsite. Will and Catherine were welcoming and helpful. They offered fire pits, wood, eggs, and milk if needed, which was a nice bonus.
The compost loos were clean and well-stocked. The pitches were spacious and had great views over the water. There was also a catering van on site with tasty food and friendly service.
Overall, it was a relaxed and well-run site. I’d definitely recommend it.

A gorgeous quiet, laid back campsite - with beautiful views and a wonderful host! Chris went out of his way to help us with knowledge of the local area and was incredibly welcoming (and my daughter loved the treats he brought round every evening) Also some of the cleanest and nicest showers and toilets i've experienced camping!

This is a beautiful cliff top campsite with stunning sea views and starry skies. We stayed for 2 nights in August and we had a great time. You can walk down to the pretty village of Cadgwith and on further to other beaches and coves. The host Catherine was lovely and delivered a fire pit to our pitch. There is also a food van with great food and loos are clean and showers hot

Great location and the facilities are outstanding. Will and Catherine are great hosts and really go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. I have camped all over England and this is one of best places to stay. If I lived closer I would be there every week🙂

I had the most amazing camping experience here after not camping for 10 years, and it couldn’t have been better! 🏕️ The view is absolutely stunning, and the bell tent was a great size – clean, comfortable, and really cosy. The toilets and showers are quite basic, but honestly perfect for this kind of stay.
The host was super helpful with excellent communication throughout, which made everything easy and stress-free. I especially loved the firepit, and wood was available, which made the evenings extra special. 🔥✨
Overall, this place exceeded my expectations and gave me the perfect return to camping. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay at Cadgwith Camping! The views from our pitch were nothing short of spectacular waking up each morning to such stunning scenery really made the trip special. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made us feel at home right away. We had actually mixed up our booking dates, but they were so understanding and accommodating, allowing us to switch things around without any hassle at all, such a relief when you’re travelling!
Another lovely touch was the little food stand on site, offering different meals each day. It was really convenient and added something extra to the camping experience, especially after a long day exploring.
This was our very first trip to Cornwall, and staying at Cadgwith Camping truly made it memorable. The combination of the beautiful setting, kind staff, and great facilities made it such a positive experience and we were even lucky enough to have perfect weather! We’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming campsite in Cornwall.

Such a lovely site! Sea views were gorgeous with stunning sunrises and easy flat parking for a campervan. Facilities like the food truck, good warm water & clean stocked toilets. Beyond that the family running the site were so friendly and made the experience. Just somewhere where you could feel the good energy.

We stayed here for a week, Will & Cathy couldn’t be more helpful and the site is beautifully located. We had a stunning view over the sea and were placed next to ours friends. The composting toilets are cleaned regularly and don’t smell at all, we loved what Will & Cathy are aiming to achieve for the environment. The food shack “coastal cravings” sells delicious and reasonably priced meals, they also will freeze ice packs and charge phones etc. Highlight is the Cadgwith Beach bbq and the cows that wander around the fields and come over to say hello 🤩…

Where to go
English Riviera
North of Dartmouth, the English Riviera is home to some of the UK’s most idyllic beaches. Head to Torquay, Babbacombe, or Paignton to stroll along palm-lined promenades, lounge on sandy beaches, and tuck into delicious seafood at ocean-view restaurants. Camping here is equally upmarket, whether you choose a 5-star holiday park with a swimming pool or a tranquil tent pitch with a view out to sea.
South Devon
Rocky coves, sandy beaches, and verdant estuaries stretch for more than 60 miles along the coast of the South Devon AONB. For the most impressive views, hike along the South West Coast Path, camp out by the beachside, or go bird-watching at Prawle Point. Just 10 minutes south of Dartmouth, Blackpool Sands is Devon’s flagship beach, or head west to Bantham beach or Bigbury on Sea to try kitesurfing and windsurfing.
Dartmoor
The River Dart runs north into the Dartmoor National Park, where you can hike across misty moorlands and rugged river gorges. Outdoor adventurers have more than 400 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails to choose from, and intrepid campers can even pitch their tent in the wilderness. Look out for free-roaming herds of Dartmoor ponies along the way.
When to go
Peak season in Dartmouth is summer, so book campsites well in advance if visiting in July and August. Sunny weather is the time for wild swimming along the river or trips to Blackpool Sands beach, but wildlife watching is better in spring and autumn when the water levels are higher. Hikers heading to Dartmoor should prepare for all seasons even in summer, but most trails remain accessible year-round.
Know before you go
- Dartmouth has several camping and outdoors stores where you can pick up supplies for your camping trip.
- Dartmouth has public transport links to many of the surrounding towns and attractions, but it is handy to have your own transport, especially if staying at rural campsites.
- Most campsites require advance booking, and many ask for the full payment upfront. Be sure to check opening dates, as some campsites close in the winter months.
- Wild camping is illegal throughout Devon.
