This peaceful, sheltered site has a special character. The site is the ideal place to unwind with plenty of safe space, a meandering river and friendly atmosphere. It offers 4 acres with facilities, 7 acres of wilderness, shower block, level pitches, picturesque river, children’s playground and has been rated AA 4 star gold pennant. Becky and John both love Cornwall and fell in love with the site as soon as they saw it and it provided the perfect opportunity for a new challenge. Having only recently taken over at Willow Valley in the Summer of 2024, there are always ongoing improvements being made so make sure you keep in touch. Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!

Foraging on site is fine, as are controlled fires. A local conservation area in a valley with a cold water pool are within walking distance. Even at the height of summer this place is a haven because we are on a culdesac road. Nearest neighbours at least 500m away in every direction. Children welcome. About There’s something ever so right about describing this valley as ‘enchanting’. The stream that bubbles its way through the 34-acre small holding ranges from a soundscape of gurgling to an almost silent trickle when the weather is dry. The long grasses change from a buttercup speckled yellow in June to a light, sun-scorched green by August. And the trees, hedges and saplings are as inviting to children as any artificial playground. It’s a wonderful place to explore. The Yurt and Lodge here have been fittingly finished to provide the same enchanting feel. Solar-powered fairy lights and lanterns cast their ambient light across the exposed wooden lattice on the inside of each structure, while wood burners and colour-schemed furnishings give a warm and cosy feel. They are, of course, also perfectly practical. Each one sleeps up to five people and are accompanied by a neighbouring cabin with your own private shower and toilet facilities. The mown grass provides children a space to play and also leads you to a communal log cabin that’s home to the main kitchen and dining area. It comes complete with everything you need (including a range cooker) and there’s an outside cooking area with a proper pizza oven and a campfire. Owl Yurt is perhaps the more secluded of the two, with the stream and a line of bushes slightly separating it and involves crossing a tiny bridge to get there, while Pheasant Lodge is closer to the kitchen area. When the sun’s out, it’s all so nice it’s difficult to leave. The raised wooden platforms on which each Yurt and Lodge sits has outdoor furniture where you can sit and enjoy a sun-downer and you can even put your feet up and relax under the guise of ‘supervising the kids’. Enchanting though it may be, there is life beyond the valley (really, there is) and once you drag yourself away you’ll be quick to realise that the coast is the real draw here. It’s a 15-minute drive to the beaches of the south and the charming harbour town of Looe, stacked up along the steep sides of the river valley. From there you can chug out on the ferry to the nature reserve of Looe Island or join the coastal path to wander to neighbouring coves and beaches.

Very private, lovely place so quiet, facilities were great, Chris was amazing and went ab9ve and beyond for us. Even put gazebo up over the seating area as on arrival it was raining hard. Yurt was amazing bed was really comfortable. Hot tub was an added bonus and the Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch. our dogs absolutely love the grounds. Would highly recommend. And I think we will be back again one day.

3 nights at Aldridge Mill

We’ve had a lovely 3 nights at the gorgeous yurt. Weather was fab, yurt was amazing and super comfy! We loved stargazing around the fire in the evenings and took the dogs for some lush walks. Would definitely come and stay again!

Each yurt has its own unique style with brass and iron beds and feather duvets and wood burning stove.

An absolutely beautiful stay on Sara's farm - the kids loved feeding the animals, the yurt was great and the hot tub and sauna were the perfect treat. The farm is surrounded by beautiful beaches too, a wonderful stay.

Weekend Trip to Roehaven Yurt

It would be an understatement to say we absolutely loved this place. We were lucky to have sunny dry weather at the end of August, but even so, we could not have been more enchanted with the place. John and Francine are incredible hosts who have gone out of their way to make this a very special experience. We were cosy and warm from the fire, which we managed to keep going thanks to the helpful instructions book. Having the use of our own outdoor sink, flushing toilet and (excellent) shower felt very luxurious. I could go on and on about the location of the yurt, the peace, the starts, the clean and cosy decor, the kitchen shed, which has absolutely everything you could need, the ice box fridge, bbq, etc but I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Book it and see for yourselves, you will not be disappointed.

4 nights at Rocombe Valley Retreat

Had a really nice time at Rocombe Valley Retreat, Elliot was very welcoming on arrival, the bell tent was great and comfortable. The site was quiet and clean and they had a lot of essentials there ready to use in the shared kitchen, including a fridge/freezer to store food in. Wood fired hot tub was a nice treat to top it off.

4 nights at West Kellow Yurts

The yurt was lovely, although on the small side for our family of 5. The shared kitchen was well equipped, and we very much enjoyed meeting all the other campsite guests. There are a few activities on site, which was really enjoyable for the kids: jeu de boules, darts, football golf and a swing. It's a good location to visit Eden Project, Discovery 42 (hands-on science museum in Bodmin), and beaches.

We stayed at Rocombe Valley Retreat for 3 nights with 3 friends and wished we would have planned to stay longer! Rocombe Valley is a stunning farm, the yurt was comfortable and fully equipt, and Elliot was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Can only recommend!

3 nights at Yurt in the Orchard

The Yurt in the Orchard is an exceptional place to get away from it all. Be prepared for silence ! The Yurt is comfortable, the shepherds hut has the essentials for food prep and the washing up station does the job. The shower is great and the loo is functional while being eco friendly. Be prepared to spend hours in the hot tub looking at the stars and the milky way. Had a great weekend.

What a magical place ✨️ We had such a lovely, peaceful time. Fresh eggs from the chickens on arrival and some scones, cream and jam - what more could you ask for. If you want to escape the rush of life and have some down time, this is definitely the place and it had everything you need to be comfortable and relax. We loved it so much ❤️

While the compact streets are packed with everything from bookshops, art galleries and boutiques to hip cafés and cosy Cornish pubs, it also makes a wonderful urban centre-point for any camping holiday. There are heaps of Truro campsites in the immediate surroundings and, from family escapes to camping for couples, the local countryside is a serious camping hot spot.
