This peaceful, sheltered site has a special character. The site is the ideal place to unwind with plenty of safe space, a meandering river and friendly atmosphere. It offers 4 acres with facilities, 7 acres of wilderness, shower block, level pitches, picturesque river, children’s playground and has been rated AA 4 star gold pennant. Becky and John both love Cornwall and fell in love with the site as soon as they saw it and it provided the perfect opportunity for a new challenge. Having only recently taken over at Willow Valley in the Summer of 2024, there are always ongoing improvements being made so make sure you keep in touch. Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!

We moved here in 2021 to start a camping site. It has been our dream for a long time to give people a great experience and enjoy the wonderful part of the UK that we live in. Come and make some memories. We have 27 acres, the campsite is approx 5 acres with well spaced pitches. and includes access to the wooded area and lake also. We have 2 fields that we have separated for children and dogs to play. There is a stunning lake where you can watch ducks, birds and geese. The wooded area is brimming with wildlife and wild flowers, deer are often running by in the woods. This area is a like a world away, an idyllic escape.

Contact directly with Qs and before making a booking - thanks!** Nestled on the hilltops near Bucks Mills and Clovelly, 10-15min walk by footpath from the SW coast path, our 13 acre smallholding-in-progress offers rustic nearly-wild camping in our wildflower meadows. Share your space with hares, deer, foxes, owls, songbirds, field voles, bees and butterflies. The views from the fields are a well kept local secret - from your tent or van look out over Hartland, Lundy island, Saunton, Croyde, Exmoor and Dartmoor, even Pembrokeshire on a clear day! FACILITIES: In keeping with our low impact approach, the fields are just fields, but with the addition of some picnic benches! A flushing toilet, drinking water, hot shower, charging and WiFi are found by the farmhouse. BBQs and fires permitted off the ground and we have fire pits for loan and logs for sale. Please pack out all rubbish and leave NO trace. Dogs welcome under close control - please avoid meadow centres in summer to protect the nesting skylarks and ensure they do NOT chase the wildlife. ACCESS: Easily accessible by 4WD, and 2WD in summer/when dry. Be aware it's a grassy uphill track, if your vehicle is not great off-road... (but everyone so far has been fine!) The views are worth the walk though! Campervans have backup options lower down near the house. THE SITE: Nature spot, relax and stargaze across our 4 fields. We recently planted 800 trees for a new woodland, created a wildlife pond, and are establishing a traditional cider orchard. Rose looks after our vegetable garden and usually has some native breed piglets. Our apiary is managed by Jon who will happily explain about bees... and sell you a jar of honey for breakfast. Note - the area is agricultural with very occasional farm noise and odour. We are pleased to be a South West Coast Path Waymaker, and welcome walkers. We also welcome anyone enjoying the Atlantic Highway or South West 660. We like classics and have spanners! Flexible arrival/departure. If we are not around just choose a spot and we'll find you later. We are both keen adventurers and happy to provide tips on things to do and places to visit! I would absolutely recommend this place. Serina and Craig have a lovely section of land for camping that is surrounded by trees wildflowers and wildlife. It is very peaceful and has some great spots to pitch up the tent. The showers are power full clean and hot. We also got the heads up for the pizza night freshly made by Serina and Graig which were 10/10 and they even made a vegan version for my partner. Our dog absolutely loved roaming around and swimming in the river that runs along camp and enjoyed the company of the sheep that roam around. We shall definitely be returning best campsite I’ve stayed at for a while. Many thanks Serina and Graig 🙂

Gorgeous site in north Cornwall. We (family of four with a six-man tent) stayed for a week in Gosel’s in August, we booked because we loved the secluded nature of the pitch, hidden in the trees and the possibility of wild swimming and canoeing in the quarry- both were just as amazing as expected. We went down to the quarry first thing every morning and normally had it to ourselves - saw a barn owl from the canoe one morning which was exciting for all of us. Wished we’d brought our fishing stuff as other kids were catching rainbow trout regularly! Having a stand pipe and a picnic table on the pitch was a luxury- the site had a sensible approach to camp fires (and actually to all things H&S which we really appreciated). Compost loo and hot shower was a minute walk away with flushing loos available a bit further on- these facilities were absolutely fine, well maintained and exactly as advertised. You can drive to pitch to unload and then park in the carpark which is our preference. The on-site cafe- bar had a variety of drinks, pizza, salad and breakfast options and we treated ourselves a couple of times. All staff were lovely, chill and other guests largely great too. Brilliant spot for kids and teens but there were a wide range of different types of guest which is our preference. Would 100% recommend!

This place is a hidden gem, probably one of the best campsites we’ve ever stayed at! The setting is beautiful, the family who run it are lovely, and the onsite pizza oven/ bar was a great surprise when we arrived! Shower block and toilets were spotless, the water was lovely and hot, fire pit rental for £5 and the fact you can forage for your own wood is a awesome. we can’t wait to come back again. 10/10

We extended our stay because we loved it so much. Would definitely stay again. It is next to a public footpath, but still feels more private woodland than anywhere else we have stayed. No facilities, so take your own loo & water. Great for self sufficient campers.

We had low expectations, but this surpassed them by far! The lake was cleaner, bigger, more picturesque than imagined from photos online. We brought our camper van and moved spots after first night when more preferrable spot next to the river opened up. Definitely bring a SUP or other float to enjoy the lake. Great location for cycling on the Granite Way to Okehampton or Lydford with no need to drive! Public toilets about 15mins walk to Meldon Reservoir carpark. Nice supply of firewood. Bring your own water, not reliable source of drinking water available close by. Phil and his brother were friendly and happy to offer advice/ info, and often passing through the bridleway on horseback, quad bike or on foot with cattle dogs. Cows got herded through one day! So fun to see, and they stuck to the bridleway and didn't impact our campsite at all. Curious ponies roaming free as well, but only came into our site once while packing up. This is a public bridleway with passers by and their dogs, but still very quiet and peaceful. If anything we felt special for being able to camp in such a beautiful place. We wish we had booked longer! We do see how the experience heavily relies on good neighbours, though. For camper vans there are 4 spaces quite close together and we got lucky with one other really nice on each night, there are other more private spots available for smaller cars/vans and tents. Highly recommend this spot.

We loved the campingsite by Jonathan. We were the only ones there so if you like peace and quiet this is the place to be. We had a lovely spot with a lot of sun and a view on the river. We could not always swim with the low tides but when it was high it was great. Our host Jonathan helped us with recommandations for things to do in the neighbourhood. We did nice walks and went to a castle. We would come back here in the future.

Absolute gem of a camping site. Beautiful, astonishingly quiet (except for the birdsong), my sons were thrilled at being able to fish at the bottom of the field, camp fires are allowed and the shower is so cute- in a converted horsebox! If you like seclusion this is the place for you. Maybe no one else does, as we were the only people there for several days, and were only ever joined by two more parties of people.
